Interesting I like what I've read so far.
Full backwards compatibility with games carts and digital, comparability with pro controller and joy cons (they can't be docked though)
So basically my investments in switch one games and hardware seems to be respected

Nintendo is doing to AR what it did to motion controls. Pokémon go is introducing it to the casuals.
AR went viral and it wasnt because of them.
GO is addicting as fuck, skipped taking the bus home just so i can catch pokemon...
AR's reputation was never that prolific to begin with. Go shows what AR can do. Ar isn't going to get significantly better in terms of what it offers more than you'd see in Poke-Go. Maybe some more advanced stuff can be shown as tech gets better, and eventually it can transform entire environments(like Halolens can do for instance), but for now, this is it.
If Poki-Go is ruining it's reputation, then AR just isn't going to stand on it's own to begin with. For the most part, all you really have is some sort of thing put on top of the real world, and how one interacts with that will vary, but the core concept is the same across the board.
Maybe it's people who don't understand the difference between an immersive technology and general game design who are ruining the reputation of AR....because it seems they don't actually differentiate the two.
AR reacting to the environment is not an AR principal, it's an AI principal that is developed through the concept of the game design.
Some AR will be fun, others won't. It's the same with any game. But for the most part, what you see, is what we will get.
I know what they mean but for the vast majority of people AR doesn't even have a "reputation" because most people don't even know what it is. PG made it news even for non-gamers and non-VR enthusiasts.
