Tales Of Symphonia PC Locked At 720p, 30 Frames Per Second

WCCFT: The PC port of the classic Bandai Namco role playing game Tales Of Symphonia is now available for purchase on Steam and several fans of the series are now enjoying the game. Or rather, not enjoying it, as the PC port comes with some issues that make it far from being the best version of the game.

Oh much HD, very wow.
So basicaly a straight up port from ps3 version with no extra work done, great. Maybe it will work on my potato of laptop.

Not trying to start an argument or anything but can you guys really tell the difference between 720p and 1080p? I can't unless I have a side by side comparison. Now 30fps vs 60fps I can easily tell the difference and that is almost a deal breaker...almost. But since I'm really hurting for some good jrpgs I'll deal with it.

Most definitely can see the difference. 720p looks like there is vasoline on the screen compaird to 1080p. I am a console gamer and I can tell the difference.

There a difference from 900p and 1080p. I own a PS4 and a pretty high end rig, my monitor is 900p and my tv is 1080p... I only game on my tv because of the difference.

On a computer monitor you definitely could. On a TV it can be apparent sometimes depending on the set up.

I don't think people would notice a frame rate difference on a game like this. It uses a animation style which requires animations complete before starting/blending a new one, so it probably wouldn't be that apparent. Plus there is no fast camera movement within the game play, and the screens are mostly static anyhow.

Not sure if the resolution would make much difference either way though. Tales uses a light cell shaded look which often masks the sharpness of the models. However, the environment doesn't use this same process, so it may not look as sharp. This was a fairly old game to begin with, which wasn't really that improved with the PS3 re-release...so it'll probably not be that big of a deal overall.
