Holy Moly!

Look at that Lighting. Damn! I thought it looked real there. Square never cease to amaze me in the visuals department.

Witcher 3 have officially been dethroned as the best looking open world game.

Edit:

Scratch that, this looks better than 98% of all the games ever made (linear and open world) and its an open world game. Well done Square, hopefully the story is great.

Edit 2:

The smoke effect that is coming out of that food cart looks insanely real.

JRPG and Food = Potential Game Of the Gen.

Lets wait till it actually comes out, at-least witcher 3 didnt run at 20 fps on my ps4 like XV demo does. it runs like crap. And its had more than twice the budget and development time compared to witcher 3.....not that amazing to me considering they have spent almost a decade on this game.

Also what counts as open world? Sure they had a big environment in XV but it doesn't seem as near as big as witcher 3,fallout,gta,etc.

Dabigsiebowski3065d ago

That demo was created over a year ago and was completely stripped down of a single area in the game. Once they finish with the optimizing then I truly believe this will look completely amazing. Funny how the X1 is a port of the PS4 version so it'll be interesting to see how that version turns out.

Cyb3r3065d ago

@Fries1223 I agree the demo was very disappointing and the debth of field looked very bad. I know that it was of an earlier version of FF15 I just hope the full game is miles better.

gosukyomomma3064d ago (Edited 3064d ago )

*rolls eyes*

Its a beta demo... Go figure

Also are you forgetting that witcher did at times drop to 20 fps ON RELEASE before CDPR patched it

It's just so brilliant looking and the gameplay has looked very smooth alongside it so far.

I feel like they honestly won't have to make another game engine at least not for a long long time. They would just tweak it and maybe add more to it though.

Spenok3065d ago

You'd think that's what they would be doing, however, they have been going with Unreal Engine 4 a lot lately. Kingdom Hearts III made the swap in engines recently, and even Final Fantasy VII was confirmed to be running on it.

I've no idea why, especially when this engine looks so fantastic.

_-EDMIX-_3064d ago

@Spenok- because the tool set may not have to do with the graphical fidelity as much as it has to do with the speed of development and ease of use.

Squares knows what their team can do and not do, I don't think their engine was some sort of magic, its clear what they produced, can be re-produced on another engine, with greater ease of development, FFVII looks BEYOND amazing and they have the talent to design to a high degree of detail.

I don't think switching engines will actually hurt them, if anything it will help them.

The reality is, we don't know what that is being shown on Luminous, if to a degree its exclusive to that engine, or if such things can be reproduced on other engines, they likely can easily on something like Unreal Engine 4, as EPIC has been crafting licensed engines for a very, very long time, if Square feels its good enough for KHIII and FFVII remake, I don't think much harm will come from the switch and I think many might be putting a bit too much stock in the engine and not the core team that designed it, I'm very certain this team can produce this same level of quality on something like Unreal Engine 4, if not near it, we'll just have to see with FFXVI lolz or FFXV-2

I3loggs243065d ago

Whoa there, don't blow your load prematurely, the game still has a long way to go before release.
The Witcher 3 had some really amazing graphical features too before it was downgraded (most likely due to console restraints).
And that is the problem really, the ps4 and xbox one have already hit the limits of there hardware capabilities, dont expect things to improve much until the next generation of consoles are released.

DarkOcelet3064d ago

Here is the thing, Square Enix never downgraded a Final Fantasy game before so i doubt they will start now.

And secondly, the game is in Pre-Beta so its not that long until its release and 2016 is right around the corner.

And third, try to compare PS3/X360 early years games to 2013 games and look at the difference, its like a different console entirely and i believe things will improve as the years go on :)

_-EDMIX-_3064d ago

lol, nothing wrong with Witcher 3, but Square's team is unreal, them and Kojima Productions are at the very height of design and detail, what you see from teams like that, is second to none, its the type of level of detail that isn't to be expected from anyone other then those teams lolz.

In terms of graphical detail, it aces even Advent Children, I'm just beyond amazed every time they show stuff with this game, it was justifiably held back to be released now at this quality, they made the right call making this a current gen game compared to when it was only on PS3.

Game of the gen, likely. We legit could possibility only see the next FF top this to this scale or Kojima's next game or something.

All the effects in this game are just NUTS! Lighting, fire, smoke, rain, they are going way, way over the top with quality with this title.

@Fries- yes...demanding titles will do that bud, the game is pushing the hardware much more then clearly Witcher 3, what do you expect, its again more demanding, they have no ode to downgrade their game to run some number. Consider its not as if we haven't played games at those frames in the past, yet we lived lol.

"Also what counts as open world? Sure they had a big environment in XV but it doesn't seem as near as big as witcher 3,fallout,gta,etc."

? I didn't know you had to be as big as that to suddenly count as "open world" lol You know not of the size and thats pretty irrelevant if you ask me, it has cities, towns, an open road system, that sounds open world enough to me bud.

"doesn't seem as near as big as witcher 3,fallout,gta" also when did you play it? Link? I can't believe you got the final game bro /s

DarkOcelet3064d ago

And we didn't get a true current gen game from Kojima yet.

I think his next game could blow us away graphically.

P.T. looked so realistic too. I hope Kojima's next game look as good as P.T. was.

And i hope its a Cyperpunk game like Snatcher :)

_-EDMIX-_3064d ago

@Dark- MGSV as a cross platform game is just amazing on current gen platforms. Agreed too, can't wait to see what he can do solely on current gen platforms, MGSV even cross plat, is just insane in terms of its detail and graphical fidelity.

P.T......on just another level of realism, I never thought a game could even look that damn good on PS4 until that day it released! lol

Kojima's team can top anything, he is one of the best in the world and I'm excited about anything he creates next.

The MGS series art director (former now, need to get use to saying that) stated it will have mechs, I'm guessing its likely the spiritual successor of ZOE. With Yoji on board, I'm 100% convinced its a ZOE successor!

Very, very hype, but he was also the art director of Policenauts, it could also be Snatcher too as the game is futuristic enough to have mechs so, could be.

DarkOcelet3064d ago

A similar game to Zone Of The Ender from Kojima would be absolutely amazing.

I think Kojima's next game will do wonders whatever it is and it could be a VR game so it would be interesting to see.

holy cow i want this game :3
can't wait for the Active Time Report next month and then the conference in march :D

Tornado3065d ago

I was there watching this! And all of us were very excited about the game

BiggCMan3065d ago

Can you tell me, at about 6:45 in this video, what was the crowd reacting to exactly? It is hard to see in this video, but it seems like it was Noctis getting food at a street vendor or something, and they started yelling when the vendor was doing something with the food? I cannot seem to get what was happening.

KainYago3065d ago

Its the effect and the graphics. noctis go to the vendor and the seller do a mixer trick with two mixer bottle so its all because of the awesome graphics and effects of the drink. i think...... i was not there but if you watch it in 1080p resolution and you watch it from really close you can see it.

Tornado3065d ago

Haha that's because the vendor was making a drink which we call "teh tarik", it's a Malaysian drink which the seller pours the coffee from cup to cup, you can look it up on Google. The fact that SE included teh tarik in the game makes us Malaysian very happy that's why we reacted to it. It's not the effect nor graphics :)

Sevir3065d ago

I'm looking at their design process!Honestly after working with Unity for 2 months, my insight into building games is greater. All these processed are just so interesting. I cant wait to learn more about the game design process! :)

d_g3065d ago

this is what i call next gen engine

jobboy3065d ago

i hope they just can get fixed 30fps at the end... no care about what resolution they will go for

KainYago3065d ago

square enix said that final fantasy xv easily run 1080p 30 fps on ps4 if they work on it a lot from the beginning but because they had to make it on other platforms (xbox) they had to work on both version a lot and the xbox version is the most unstable so its natural that the ps4 version wasnt that good + for the easier work they use 900p. its still better then xbox's 720 and 20 fps (xbox will be 30 fps but the episode duscea just kill the console though it was just an alpha demo gameplay)

Glad that I absolutely can't stand subscription services.

Petebloodyonion25d ago (Edited 25d ago )

I don't recall Sony forcing you to subscribe like nobody forced you to go to Blockbuster to rent games instead of buying them.

SonyStyled25d ago

Pay-per-view was almost cheaper than the cost of gas and rental fee from Blockbuster. Blockbuster doesn’t exist today. Are you being sarcastic?

Final Fantasy XV Review – A Royal Road Trip

Gary Green said: With my fondness for (most) Final Fantasy games and my side goal of finishing off games in my collection with loose ends, a return to Final Fantasy XV seemed inevitable. It also serves as my third Final Fantasy platinum trophy after VII and VIII, a reasonable substitute since Final Fantasy IX is nigh on impossible to master.

Final Fantasy 15 director reveals why he left Square Enix, and announces he's working on 2 new JRPGs

Final Fantasy 15's director has revealed why he left Square Enix back in 2018.

Hajime Tabata famously resigned from Square Enix two years after Final Fantasy 15 shipped in 2016. In a special livestream at the time, Tabata announced his decision to resign from the company, cancelling three of four new story-focused DLC episodes for Final Fantasy 15 in the process.

FF15 is like FF13 its subjective people either like it or hate it.

raWfodog157d ago

I liked it. I haven’t played the royale edition yet but I’ll get around to it one day.

gold_drake157d ago

no no, 15 wasnt trash.

15 had a tremendous difficult development.

FinalFantasyFanatic155d ago

I really believe 13 was better put together and more complete than 15 ever was.

EternalTitan156d ago

Found the pathetic troll.
How is your jobless life going?
Dot worry, you will never get a job or a girlfriend haha!

Hofstaderman157d ago

Man inherited a train wreck and was expected to release this game in under two years after it spent a better part of a decade in development hell. At one point there was even plans to make FFXIII Versus a musical. He did what he could.

TheColbertinator157d ago

I didn't care much for XV and I always wanted the original vision of Versus XIII but I think the dev team did what they could to salvage the project

Inverno156d ago

And yet people still blame him for the game turning out the way it did, rather than SE for the horrible mismanagement of 13 and Namura for being overly ambitious.

Dwarrior157d ago

Whatever the behind-the-scenes went on over the many years, at the end of the day it was a radical change in direction that I could not go along with. Also why I never bought 16.

gold_drake157d ago

this is also why Sakaguchi (spelling) left.
