A few days ago, Final Fantasy XV Programmer Satoshi Kitade mentioned that the pre-beta build of the game is already playable from beginning to end. Afterwards, he followed up with further information.

"First of all, he explained on the official forum that the build runs on PC. It also works on PS4, but there are still areas that require optimization and memory-related adjustments."

This game has to come to PC. It will look Jaw Dropping in 4k/60fps.

DarkOcelet3067d ago

If the game is already running on PC then there is no reason for it not to come to the PC. Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 sold well on PC and so did Tomb Raider Reboot.

Abriael3067d ago

When I talked to Tabata, he told me that they won't consider it until after launch, because it's different to tune the game for console and for PC.

DarkOcelet3067d ago

That kinda sucks. And i am not waiting anymore for this beauty. I am getting this day 1 on PS4. But i will definitely get it later on PC when its released.

BiggCMan3067d ago

I appreciate that you are like the only journalist in the industry that is keeping people up to date on this game Guiseppe, even with the smallest things such as this or the HUD and minimap photo from the other day. I can't think of anyone else who is doing this work like you are man. I am so excited for this game, and if I had to depend on IGN or some other site for information on it, I would never get anything at all. It's a wonder that there are so many people that still think the game is years off, but not people who are informed like me because of all the information I learn from you talking with Tabata and others. This game will come in 2016, I really feel it. Tabata taking over was the best thing to happen, and he has been giving so much information to the fans, and applying feedback from the demo etc. Cannot wait for the March Active Time Report.

Abriael3067d ago

@BiggCMan: thanks man. I do my best :D And yes, I'm pretty sure we'll get a fall 2016 worldwide release.

I don't *know*, but all logic points there.

AlphaKennyOne3067d ago

I will only buy this game if it comes out on PC.

mikeslemonade3067d ago

I will be playing the "free" version since SE destoryed FF7 remake. I will not put money I earn into such a stupid publisher.

Gatsu3067d ago

Lets hope it will come eventually :).

Somebody3066d ago

Ouch! The comment section for that article is a very bad place for any passing PC gamer. It's becoming apparent that some console game devs need the PC market to help with sales but it seems that some console fans aren't that eager seeing PC beggars get their hands on it.

badz1493066d ago

no Xbone version? is it not coming?

Final Fantasy 14 was released simultaneously on PC and consoles.
Wouldn't be surprised if happens the same thing with Final Fantasy 15.

EDIT:
@Eiyuuou
With the game running from the get go on the PC, do you really think Square will wait a long time to release it on PC?
BTW... did you see the price of the just released Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII on PC? It's 15€. Do you really think Square is going to wait one or two years to release it on PC, loose a crap load of money and price it at 15-20€ on release?
If I was a betting man, I would bet Square will release FF15 on PC very close to the consoles release date.

Eiyuuou3067d ago

Sorry, but that analogy isn't logical. After all, FFXIV is an MMO and thus an exception. The mainline FF games always have a delayed release on PC. Just look at the XIII saga.

Eiyuuou3067d ago

Oh don't get me wrong. I didn't mean to say that it'll be a long delay.

My guess is in 2017.

Shubaltz3067d ago

It wasn't actually, the PS3 version of the original FFXIV was delayed because of the game's quality and the fact that it couldn't run on PS3. ARR was redesigned completely due to memory and resource problems with PS3 and is still causing problems for the game overall.

_-EDMIX-_3067d ago

LMFAO! What? No, just god no. That is exteremly unlikely and your saying this about a MMO MADE FOR PC in mind.

FFXII, FFXIII etc didn't come day in date to PC, some title never came to PC.

FFXV as of right now is very, very likely to not come day and date to PC.

It will come, sure as I don't see it not going to PC, but not day and date as that would have been stated long ago if they where wanted that. They still need funding for that version, so its likely to come after release.

tontontam03067d ago

YES, they can milk more money by delaying the game, hardcore ffXV fans will not wait for the pc release, they will buy the console version as early as possible, then replay the game when the pc version is released.

joab7773067d ago (Edited 3067d ago )

It should. Didn't Sony just free up more memory for devs? It's vague to me, but I remember 6gb being allowed b4, w 2 held for OS etc. Now, they've freed up 7gb of ddr5 ram, so maybe that will help a little with optimization. It will never be like some PC's, but it will look pretty damn good. Fingers crossed for performance. I know Square hates taking graphical hits lol!

DarkOcelet3067d ago

Square Enix never downgraded a Final Fantasy game before so i dont think this will happen here. And all of their Final Fantasy games performance were excellent except for PC.

SugarSoSweet3067d ago

Exactly devs went from using 300-400 mb memory to 6-7 gbs thats more then enough of an increase!

d_g3067d ago (Edited 3067d ago )

you need a Beast to run Final Fantasy XV at 4k/60fps.

hopefully we will see the PC-version soon

everybody deserve to play this game

DarkOcelet3067d ago

Well, it gives me a reason to get another 980ti.

I promised myself once this game gets released on PC, i will have to play it at 4k/60fps.

marioJP873066d ago

Disagreers to your post have consoles that can't run at 4K or 60 fps. lmao

Kenshin_BATT0USAI3067d ago

While this isn't a pc-version announcement, I think given SE's current track record they are not opposed to the idea. IMO, their pc ports have been getting better.

Kalebninja3067d ago

It took almost 2 years for lightning returns to go on PC so I don't have my hopes up high.

Kenshin_BATT0USAI3067d ago (Edited 3067d ago )

That's true, however let's consider this.

FF13 - October 9, 2014
FF13-2 - December 11, 2014
LRFF13 - December 10, 2015

They did 3 FF ports in 1 year and 2 months.
Each progressively a better port than the last.

joab7773067d ago

Maybe it's a sign that it will be coming much sooner this time.

Kalebninja3067d ago

Those dates don't necessarily mean anything, you could look at it that they waited for the whole trilogy to end before putting it on PC.

KainYago3067d ago

This means that square enix will relase it to consoles and if it sells well after a year it will be relased on pc probably. i think (i dont know it but it should run on pc because the luminous engine is a pc engine in the first place)

Kenshin_BATT0USAI3067d ago (Edited 3067d ago )

From my understanding, they're basically building the game on pc, then porting it over to ps4 and xbox 1.

That said, I'm not saying this is confirmation or anything but given their recent track record and success on pc. This wouldn't be weird to see happen. (I mean why else are they putting in the effort to basically port every FF game onto pc otherwise?)

MJunior3067d ago

I don't work more with games, but make a port of a offline game to PC in this gen isn't much expensive.

Today, make an game for PS4/XONE and not PC is a error.

Romitajr3067d ago

Exclusives are bad for gamers.

NovaCorps3067d ago (Edited 3067d ago )

no thats good...if there was no exlcusives then no uncharted, gran turismo,FF,halo, gears,no playstaion,no xboxmno nintendo
wtf are you talking about

Glad that I absolutely can't stand subscription services.

Petebloodyonion19d ago (Edited 19d ago )

I don't recall Sony forcing you to subscribe like nobody forced you to go to Blockbuster to rent games instead of buying them.

SonyStyled19d ago

Pay-per-view was almost cheaper than the cost of gas and rental fee from Blockbuster. Blockbuster doesn’t exist today. Are you being sarcastic?

Final Fantasy XV Review – A Royal Road Trip

Gary Green said: With my fondness for (most) Final Fantasy games and my side goal of finishing off games in my collection with loose ends, a return to Final Fantasy XV seemed inevitable. It also serves as my third Final Fantasy platinum trophy after VII and VIII, a reasonable substitute since Final Fantasy IX is nigh on impossible to master.

Final Fantasy 15 director reveals why he left Square Enix, and announces he's working on 2 new JRPGs

Final Fantasy 15's director has revealed why he left Square Enix back in 2018.

Hajime Tabata famously resigned from Square Enix two years after Final Fantasy 15 shipped in 2016. In a special livestream at the time, Tabata announced his decision to resign from the company, cancelling three of four new story-focused DLC episodes for Final Fantasy 15 in the process.

FF15 is like FF13 its subjective people either like it or hate it.

raWfodog151d ago

I liked it. I haven’t played the royale edition yet but I’ll get around to it one day.

gold_drake151d ago

no no, 15 wasnt trash.

15 had a tremendous difficult development.

FinalFantasyFanatic149d ago

I really believe 13 was better put together and more complete than 15 ever was.

EternalTitan150d ago

Found the pathetic troll.
How is your jobless life going?
Dot worry, you will never get a job or a girlfriend haha!

Hofstaderman151d ago

Man inherited a train wreck and was expected to release this game in under two years after it spent a better part of a decade in development hell. At one point there was even plans to make FFXIII Versus a musical. He did what he could.

TheColbertinator151d ago

I didn't care much for XV and I always wanted the original vision of Versus XIII but I think the dev team did what they could to salvage the project

Inverno150d ago

And yet people still blame him for the game turning out the way it did, rather than SE for the horrible mismanagement of 13 and Namura for being overly ambitious.

Dwarrior151d ago

Whatever the behind-the-scenes went on over the many years, at the end of the day it was a radical change in direction that I could not go along with. Also why I never bought 16.

gold_drake151d ago

this is also why Sakaguchi (spelling) left.
