OnlySP: Can a game really have too much content? Yes, and it’s a serious problem. Filler content is harmful.

could be like mgs5 and not fill the open world with any content.

Aloy-Boyfriend3108d ago (Edited 3108d ago )

151 side ops which consist of the same set of missions. That's a lot of filler content actually. I can't bring myself to finish them all. It's tiring!

Witcher 3's open world and content went along perfectly. Everything had a story and a purpose: Witcher contracts, Treasure hunting, side quest each very different from the other, and some miscellaneous stuff. I can't express enough how amazing this game is and it's rich and dynamic world

Filler content is not good. It doesn't justify paying $60 just because the length is over 20 hrs of playtime. Not for me at least! Quality > Quantity.

Please devs Understand!

You're preaching to the choir my fellow gamer. Cheers!

pandehz3108d ago

The Witcher is on a different league. It is the only actual Next Gen game in every possible way. Oh that bittersweet story.

Summons753108d ago

Sooooo the side ops didn't exist? News to me, what did I do for 70 hours then?

WeAreLegion3108d ago

I really enjoyed the "filler content" of Mad Max.

BushLitter3108d ago

I think there is way too much side stuff in Mad Max

TeamLeaptrade3108d ago

Yeah a lot of games have way too much filler content. I don't mind missions that are similar as long as it's not repeated a ton. Just make all of the missions different and fun.

Roccetarius3108d ago

Most of the content in these games are purely padding. It usually comes with stretching content too thin as well, which is what the main game of Witcher 3 suffered from.

It's more important to crank the amount of hours up these days, instead of quality.

Mad Max is underrated. Such a fun game.

Cacabunga30d ago (Edited 30d ago )

RDR2 still looks astounding on PS4 Pro. i cannot imagine how it could look with a next gen upgrade.

JonTheGod30d ago (Edited 30d ago )

Probably not very different.

No idea why this article is highlighting recent beautiful graphically-advanced games and saying they need current gen makeovers. They already look better than most new releases; just compare Arkham Knight and Suicide Squad!

exputers29d ago

I see what you did there.

Yi-Long30d ago

It's obviously never gonna happen since Sony killed the game and studio, but Driveclub. Even in its current state, 10 years after release, it still puts many competitors to shame ...

Demetrius29d ago

I'm not into racing games but yeah I even looked at gameplay of that sometimes

redrum062d ago

It's a shame they cancelled the game. Definitely the best racing game I've ever played on Playstation. Just got GT7, but it feels so slow and less arcade-y, which is to be expected of a sim racer of course, that I just enjoy it less.
Driveclub also graphically looked insanely good for its time. I wonder what a Driveclub 2 would look like for the PS5.

Demetrius29d ago

Mad max ikr! Far cry primal, it amuses me how ubisoft just left ac unity hanging, sadly most of the good staff left from rocksteady while being forced to make that abomination smh

I had a blast with a Bugs Bunny game on PS1 as a kid. It is probably trash now but at the time, it was awesome.

"50 Cent: Blood in the sand"

Ps3 scored 6/10 all round loads of review sites but was so much fun while not a technical masterpiece in any way has a worthwhile engaging story and script and of course an unbeatable soundtrack.

Honorable mention to Drive Clubs Ferrari Fxx-K. Should be there over Horizon.

The Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak from the Gran Turismo series

Nissan Skyline from Need for Speed Underground

Motorcycle Steamroller from Dead Rising 3

And finally a car you never drive but saves your ass over and over : Honey Badger from COD MW2

Gardenia489d ago

I was thinking of Mad Max. That V8 felt really good to drive around in, especially with upgrades.

dumahim489d ago

No one liked the Batmobile in Arkham Knight. Top 10?

toxic-inferno489d ago

I don't know... It was a strange addition to the game, and the parts of the game where you had to fight in it were tedious. But driving it around Gotham felt brilliant.
