Phantasy Star I and II for Playstation 2 Translated into English by Fans

Carl Williams writes, "Okay, these fan translations are getting better and better. The most recently released title, that most people reading this would actually care about, is Phantasy Star II. Okay, you may be thinking, we got Phantasy Star II in English already on the Sega Genesis, um, a few decades ago. You are right, we did. This is not yet another re-translation of that version of the classic (there are plenty that correct the “Engrish” that Sega inserted). This version is Phantasy Star II for the Playstation 2 console, from the Sega Ages 2500 series of Japanese only exclusives. Yeah, that is right, this is the updated with better graphics, better audio, etc version that we never saw in North America (not sure why either)."

Loved Light Crusader! And funny, Story of Thor is Beyond Oasis here.

Yui_Suzumiya867d ago

Wow this was a fantastic list I especially loved that you included Duke Nukem and the Oddworld series. Not many people these days Duke Nukem started off as a 2D Platformer before Duke Nukem 3D and I absolutely adore Strangers Wrath.

Will never be forgotten. My first, big rpg that had magic, science, technology, flying to other planets, catchy tunes from the limited master system, etc. It was awesome. And the sequels after were just as great. Including 3.

Still wish to this day that sega cared to update those games or a remake or sequel to skies of arcadia. But the sega I knew is gone. Such a shame. Just sitting on their franchises doing nothing.

Phantasy Star is a classic.

Wish they'd remake 3 and like... fix/finish it. I love the generation concept but man the game was so bland otherwise. Still loved it as a kid even though I got nowhere.

Wish they would release phantasy star online 2 over here.
