Nintendo's Conference - Was it really that bad?

"Now, It's understandable that there were A LOT of people who seemed to be disappointed with Nintendo's E3 Conference. Even I found my self disappointed. But the more I look at it, the more I start to realize, it really wasn't the worst."

YES DONT EVEN TALK ABOUT IT. they gave hardcore gamers a big F**K *you alright. its what i said before and i will say it again, the wii is a fad. go ahead take my bubbles, but you know its the truth, if you dont think so, go play reality tv games on the wii. the only thing that system has this year is animal crossing. and seriously dont say wii music, thats possibly the dumbest thing you would say.

I agree with you. My last hopes that Nintendo would not abandon real gamers were crushed after this presentation.

Wii Music is not even a game in my eyes. Pretending to play music and then listen to the game play the music. Is this for real? I mean seriously at this point I think they could come up with anything and the casuals would eat it up no questions asked; it's like they are hyponotized or maybe brainwashed.

I could not believe Reggie had the nerve to say GTA for the DS and Animal Crossing for the Wii when asked where the games were for gamers during the follow up interview.

I really hope this wakes up people that are considering purchasing a Wii. Once MS and Sony hit the -$300 mark in America I hope the "Paradigm" (if you saw the press conference you will understand the use of this word) shifts to the real gaming consoles (the 360 and PS3).

It was very bad. I mean the only core games were Call of Duty, and a DS game for GTA called China Town Wars which will probably be a cool game but WTF. They didn't even mention Mad World which was the only Wii game I am interested in. I don't even know if that game comes out this years.

Wii is not a fad. It was huge since it's release and it's still huge, after a year and a half since it's release. As long as there are casual gamers, Wii will continue being huge.

I like hc games, but I also accept facts. The facts don't change no matter how hard people try to deny them.

Yeah I understand, it didn't live up to the hype at all. And games like Animal Crossing and Wii Music are not what we wanted. But I think we got some opportunity's.

We finally have voice chat. I don't care if 360 and PS3 have had it, I barely use it on my 360 anyways. But now we finally have it coming.

Call of Duty looked sick. It actually looked really good visually, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars looked pretty awesome too.

If GTA: Chinatown Wars is 3D like the console GTA's, then I'm sold.

Trust me, I said the same thing as everyone else after I watched it. "Worst conference ever! I can't believe I woke up to watch this crap!"

Call of Duty did look really good on the Wii I give you that, but it will be a better game on the Xbox 360 and PS3 so Nintendo really only has Animal Crossing for the Kiddies.

Basically the reason its seen as bad, is because loyal nintendo fans have just been given the 2 fingers.

If Animal crossing (which is causal focused) and GTA DS is the only things they can offer this hoilday (remember nintnedo don't attend Leipzig OR TGS) they people have every reason to be update.

Nintendo and Gamer's have fallen out, and they ain't getting back together again anytime soon.

The Nintendo presentation was a bit poor TBH but when you see that the big selling games on Wii are WiiFit, WiiPlay and WiiSports and not Metroid or No More Heroes then you have to understand that the market Nintendo makes most profits from has absolutely no interest in E3, What looks like poor now will be almost certainly the biggest thing since frozen pizza when they start TV adverts for it come November!

Nintendo dances to the beat of a different drummer; E3 is pretty unimportant to them. Anyway, Nintendo has always made a bigger deal of TGS than E3.

I still love Nintendo. But I have to say that my love for them has fallen quite drastically. They need to stop caring ONLY about casual gamers. Because it's gonna come around and bite them in the a** in the future. Hardcore gamers won't be buying the games because they suck, and casual players never buy games. They only stick to wii sports and now wii sports paradise. Nintendo has to give their hardcore crowd more attention because they're pretty much pissing the majority of us off. What happened to zelda? Pikmin? All the other IP's we thought possible because of brawl. Our storage solution?

it wasnt a bad conference per say, they introduced that new sensor, wii resort, animal crossing...it was also not quite as boring, just bad for the hardcore gamer...although "Special" person Wii Music... and Frisbee to fake dog, were highly questionable

The sensor will be big if it let FPS makes and the red steel team make gun and weapon movement better and more precise. It's funny nintendo announced hardcore stuff a new sensor and a mic which are for the hardcore games really because those are things we wanted then they show casual games. With two big FPS coming in the eyes of Wii owners both things could be used to make it even better.

I think nintendo has stopped telling people their secrets in order to stop the stealing or slow it down. This conference was not for the hardcore presentation wise it was for the retail space. The hardcore already has a list of games to buy. Any developer worth any thing is going nuts over the motion+ and how it works just so they can have a better control system.

The games they showed are more hardcore in play but presentation they where str8 up Wii play style. That's just how nintendo operates and I think the developers are thanking nintendo for being so low key too.
Some how some way nintendo has to wake the 3rd parties up and constantly crushing them in sales does not do that.

It could have been better but hey I'm buying games from other companies next year aby way and I'm not addicted to nintendo products. Plus too I would think you got enough franchises any way. The xbox 360 will be $199 soon so there you go. Oyeah E3 is not over yet also.... and the conference sucked way more last year way way more!

There were a few good announcments, but i'm disappointed (like everyone else) with the lack of footage or news shown for HC titles. Am i the only one who wonders if Disaster: day of crisis even exists anymore?

I said the same thing about the PS2 last gen as I was buying tons of games for it. Just remember this GOW 1 and 2 was cool I rented and beat them and I didn't own one SONY 1st title except for shadow of the colossus. Plus too it was just cheaper to make and more people had them even if it was just for sing star or pa rappa or some thing.

The problem is nintendo has figured out how to keep the casual base happy and sneak hardcore stuff in for 3rd parties to use. I'm sure the mic was for the conduit guys and the motion plus was for swords and guns. I don't mind this and I think this is how they will play out the rest of this gen as the innocent console developer that's still hardcore.

If you liked zelda 2 then how can you not see how much a 1:1 zelda would rock! It was like getting a tank colored in pink just to get past the enemy lines LOL the most hilarious thing I've ever seen. If they can push sales of the motion+ thing then it will be like it came with the system! Eventually I think they may just start packing more stuff in with the Wii core package or either bundling stuff.

@sidar I say zelda 2 because it was all about moving and blocking the other guys attack with the shield.I bet they didn't do this because it was as reliable. I could see fights going down like that for the new zelda. It would be nice to have a top down zelda also mixed with a FPS or third person view.
