Old Monk was amazing. I played Demon's Souls not too long before Bloodborne dropped and tried to invade in the Tower of Latria and I became the boss. I gave the player a good fight but eventually let him win just so he/she would have their adrenaline pumping from the feeling of victory. My favorite bosses are Maneater, Flamelurker, Smough & Ornstein, Twin Gargoyle, Four Kings. Coolest bosses from BB so far(I have only beaten around 6-7) in my opinion are Father G and Cleric Beast.

pwnsause_returns3333d ago (Edited 3333d ago )

I still remembered that moment, my world got invaded, and i was looking for the player that invaded thw world, my mind was blown when i find out that the old monk was in fact the player that invaded my world....i wasnt even mad when i got killed by him, i was actually impressed lmao

YoungPlex3333d ago

I never knew that if you invaded in the tower that you had a chance to play as the boss. From my experience with Demon's Souls, I was always summoned by the boss to fight whoever was near about to fight. Now in Dark Souls II I did have to drop a red invasion soapstone near the galss shield boss fight in order for him to summon me. That's pretty cool that you could do the same in Demon's Souls, still my favorite as it was my first Souls game and my first platinum trophy! Bloodborne is awesome so far, the combat is similar but also feels completely different than the Souls series, which is a great thing.

DragonKnight3333d ago (Edited 3333d ago )

I wish that that would have been a staple of the series. Having other players be a boss is a very unique and innovative idea that FromSoft should capitalize on, and it's loads of fun.

I used to invade as the Old Monk with my FuryMail build. That's an Adjudicator's Shield +5, Regen Ring, Scraping Spear, Stormruler, and Acid Cloud. Either way I would win. If I won, great. If I lost, I broke their stuff anyway. One guy I faced literally had 5 weapons with him, I broke them all and he messaged me saying he was done with Demon's Souls for the day thanks to me. Sounded like he was done with it forever. I miss that.

ziggurcat3333d ago (Edited 3333d ago )

i wish they kept something like that for BB, too. i was expecting it, honestly.

they did have something similar in the first dark souls, and an element of it in DS2, though.

pivotplease3333d ago

Pretty sure you made me quit demons souls lol. I still haven't beaten that game. Including that troll spear was a fatal error on from's part.

DragonKnight3333d ago

Troll spear was the best weapon in the game. Loved it. Probably makes Demon's Souls PVP the "hardest" and the funny thing is that a lot of people weren't using it because the damage output is shite.

xabmol3332d ago

Ruining peoples day is what it's all about in DS!

*evil grin*

I would have 10 hour sessions just being that boss over and over.

Good times! Really wish it was easier to get summoned by the looking glass knight in DS2...

Corgyll3332d ago

You're a douchebag, but I upbubbled you for your interesting tale. Thanks.

"but eventually let him win"

No... just no.

StrawberryDiesel4203333d ago (Edited 3333d ago )

Ok, so I could have 1 shotted the guy with my Northern Regalia but instead I tried to make it feel like an epic boss battle for him/her and I just swung my Giant Meat Cleaver around. I gave them an entertaining battle and had them within inches of death. Much harder to do that than it would have been to kill him/her instantly. Plus the player was clearly a noob that I could have killed in less than 10 seconds. Is that ok with you?

sinspirit3333d ago (Edited 3333d ago )

I think the most nostalgic Demons' Souls battle for me is the Tower Knight. Really easy. But, he's quite fun.

Ripsta7th3332d ago

He scared me the first time i saw him
I was likee ohhh shitt!! Is this like one of those unbeatable bosses in FF

Tdmd3333d ago (Edited 3333d ago )

I hate 4kings with a passion. The only boss in the whole franchise I feel its unfair. I think its also one of the very few bosses I couldn't beat on my own.
Father G, Martyr Logarious, Looking glass knight, knight artorias and garl vinland were really memorable!

Gatsu3333d ago

Looking Glass Knight was soooo cool :D, I forgot about that one!

durran33332d ago

LOL that was the easiest boss ever - I have always one shotted 4kings. Just wear Haval Armor with the shield and stand close to the boss. I barely even rolled during that fight. just kept L1'ng till he died.

IrisHeart3333d ago

Papa Guacamole was my favorite hunter fight too...

Shinuz3333d ago

that boss was so cool, I remember before even going against him I was summoned by him to kill another player. How awesome was that?!

Gatsu3333d ago (Edited 3333d ago )

So many amazing bosses. But if I had to pick only one, for me it would be maybe Knight Artorias. Such epic and intense battle.

Artorias reminds me of when Guts gets Berserker's Armor in the Berserk manga.

Baka-akaB3333d ago

Yeah artorias remains very impressive .

goldwyncq3333d ago

Artorias seems to be the template for most of Bloodborne's bosses. Extremely fast and relentless.

Tex1173333d ago

Old Monk was really awesome.

Demon's love or hate it is still the most experimental of all of them.

Father__Merrin3333d ago

for me the tower knight in demon souls was impressive i didnt realise it was boss time and got caught off guard. also flame lurker was pretty intimidating

Hmm... In my opinion, the 7 best are the 6 made by FromSoftware (DeS, DS1, DS2, DS3, BB and ER), then Lies of P. But each to their own.

kevco3350d ago

Still DS1? You don't feel it's been surpassed yet?

Demon's Souls has the remake of course, but DS1 has surely been outdated?

Smellsforfree50d ago

I think that the DS1 remake is better looking than DS2. The interior lighting matched with the low resolution textures in DS2 is very garish, IMO.

Besides graphics, what do you mean by DS1 being "outdated"? I'm someone who played through Elden Ring and just recently played through the DS series, and as far as gameplay went, there were all very similar.

Cacabunga49d ago

I haven’t played many but Bloodborne and NIOH1 are on top of my list.. had a blast with these 2

toxic-inferno49d ago

For world design and interconnectedness (that's a word, right?) DS1 is yet to be beaten.

anast17d ago

All great games beside DS2.

toxic-inferno17d ago

I would agree, but there are some things in DS2 that are great and incredibly memorable. It tries to do things differently, and there are some amazingly cinematic moments.

Of course, there's also poor level design (particularly the interconnectivity of the world), questionable combat choices and some of the worst boss runs since the early days of video games...

anast17d ago

True. I can't disagree the game has some moments.

Yes, yes it does. It’s still a great game. Elden Ring isn’t better just different and a bit easier . I like that you have to be aggressive but smart in Bloodborne

thorstein51d ago

I literally replayed it recently and it's better than I remember. I think it's like going back to a beloved book and noticing things I hadn't before.

raWfodog51d ago (Edited 51d ago )

Yo! I was getting ready to reply with the exact same four words you started with lol. Yes, I think Bloodborne has withstood the test of time and remains a great game. That’s why all the fans are hoping for a sequel someday. Hoping that we can catch that magic again with a new storyline.

Leeroyw51d ago

Yes. Just replayed it a few days ago. My first Platinum. And yes. I rage quitted so many times and called it BS too when I started. It's tight. The combat is amazing and the lore is rich.

GamingSinceForever51d ago

Elden Ring was easier? I don’t know about that at all. I remember leveling up in Bloodborne and breezing through it. In Elden Ring no matter how powerful I got I was still catching a beat down from every boss.

thorstein51d ago

That's due to scaling enemies. I remember not doing Haligtree untill near the end and having enemies withstand almost a full blast from Azur's Glintstone Staff Comet Azure. My level was quite high.

Melee characters are not fun in that game, especially for the Elden Beast.
