VRFocus - Following the official reveal of the collaboration between Valve and HTC earlier today, the first official image of the Vive head-mounted display (HMD) has been revealed. The device itself has been confirmed to be available as a ‘developer edition’ this spring, followed by a consumer release later this year.
In case you were curious, a Steam account transfer via will is not permitted according to an official response from Valve.
Would be nice if the article's writer looked into and reported whether other digital game libraries could be transferred over via will (Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo, EGS, EA app, GOG, Ubisoft Connect, Rockstar Launcher etc) instead of this half-baked piece but it's probably the same for all of them anyway
This seems like a way bigger issue than mandatory PSN account linking for PlayStation games.
So where is the outcry?
ESTNN writes: "A leak for Valve's 6v6 3rd-person shooter MOBA has supposedly been released ahead of time. And if the reports are true, fans of the genre have much to be excited for."
Nice bend at the knee there Gabe. Seriously? A quirky character arena shooter? This late into the me-too-shooter market? I thought you guys were so much better than that crap. Gabe must need a bigger yacht.
Viveport, the VR retail platform from HTC is now giving developers 90% of their game revenue, instead of a 70/30 spilt like Steam.
It could be free and it wouldn't matter at this point. There isn't really a PCVR Market and I say that as a PCVR user. It is modders and enthusiasts with a few retail products on Steam.
Getting the M9 and getting this as well!
Things I never thought I'd end up with a collection of: competing VR headsets.
I guess we're in the future now. :D
This looks really cool, 2x high res screens is a lot nicer than one split 1080p one.. Bring on the CV1 though, Oculus!
Hmm, this will need a beefy rig unless games pull back a bit or are incredibly well optimised.. That's a lot of pixels to be pushing at 90fps!
Im so gonna play platform games with this ! http://i.kinja-img.com/gawk...
Valve is known for their tendency to postpone things or cancel them all together. For me it's just another player on a field where lot's of competitors saying things and still not delivering anything.
