The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu had an interesting technical article on the AI in Final Fantasy XV and in its demo Episode Duscae, including some rather intriguing screenshots.

wait is prompto controllable over there?
sure looks like it,
maybe its temporary control to allow use of their unique abilities

DarkOcelet3371d ago

You can see there is an ability written at the left of the screen so its quite possible. Even thought it would have been awesome if we can control the full party just like FFXII ...

The director of FFXII should seriously make another awesome Final Fantasy. It was really ahead of its time.

Abriael3371d ago

It's a screen showcasing the AI, so it's the opposite. It shows that prompto is controlled by the AI.

vishmarx3371d ago (Edited 3371d ago )

except this is the first time weve seen the camera not being focused on noctis,
he's almost offscreen.
but yeah it just might be an engine demo.
though im sure i read you get to use the tps manual aim as an ability regardless

Irishguy953371d ago

vishmarx, that was versus. The way the game was made now is that Noctis got more abilities and the other characters simply became unusable. They aren't giving us control of the characters because they are giving Noctis the treatment.

Somehow it feels like the japanese are trying to make one hell of a comeback this gen. I gave up on squarenix but every article about this game impresses me. Can I hold on to the hate any longer? They really pissed me last gen but I feel my haterade is ending. Forgive me brothers

_-EDMIX-_3371d ago

well....not really. The concept of this game was made in 2005 sooooooo.

And it was in development for PS3 for years, so I would say the wanted it originally to come out last gen. The game is more or less a port of the PS3 version as I don't believe they made this in 2 years..

Don't let FFXIII define all of Square that gen. It was some bad games yes...but they still released some decent titles.

The KH portable games, Bravely Default etc

NoctisPendragon3371d ago (Edited 3371d ago )

They made this in 2/3 years (and maybe more, they dont show everything to the public) , watch E3 2013 vs TGS 2014 video (while pressing pause) and see how huge the difference is.

You always say a ps3 port but you know deep inside it is close to impossible to improve so much in every aspects.

They made FF XV almost or 100% from stratch (i am not talking about the sotry or the ideas).
The article above is also a kind of proof, those freatures werent in the ps3 version at all.

Thou art forgiven my child. Does it not feel glorious to be basking in the light of the crystals once more?

WizzroSupreme3371d ago

Final Fantasy XV looks so good so far.

Glad that I absolutely can't stand subscription services.

Petebloodyonion26d ago (Edited 26d ago )

I don't recall Sony forcing you to subscribe like nobody forced you to go to Blockbuster to rent games instead of buying them.

SonyStyled26d ago

Pay-per-view was almost cheaper than the cost of gas and rental fee from Blockbuster. Blockbuster doesn’t exist today. Are you being sarcastic?

Final Fantasy XV Review – A Royal Road Trip

Gary Green said: With my fondness for (most) Final Fantasy games and my side goal of finishing off games in my collection with loose ends, a return to Final Fantasy XV seemed inevitable. It also serves as my third Final Fantasy platinum trophy after VII and VIII, a reasonable substitute since Final Fantasy IX is nigh on impossible to master.

Final Fantasy 15 director reveals why he left Square Enix, and announces he's working on 2 new JRPGs

Final Fantasy 15's director has revealed why he left Square Enix back in 2018.

Hajime Tabata famously resigned from Square Enix two years after Final Fantasy 15 shipped in 2016. In a special livestream at the time, Tabata announced his decision to resign from the company, cancelling three of four new story-focused DLC episodes for Final Fantasy 15 in the process.

FF15 is like FF13 its subjective people either like it or hate it.

raWfodog158d ago

I liked it. I haven’t played the royale edition yet but I’ll get around to it one day.

gold_drake158d ago

no no, 15 wasnt trash.

15 had a tremendous difficult development.

FinalFantasyFanatic156d ago

I really believe 13 was better put together and more complete than 15 ever was.

EternalTitan157d ago

Found the pathetic troll.
How is your jobless life going?
Dot worry, you will never get a job or a girlfriend haha!

Hofstaderman158d ago

Man inherited a train wreck and was expected to release this game in under two years after it spent a better part of a decade in development hell. At one point there was even plans to make FFXIII Versus a musical. He did what he could.

TheColbertinator158d ago

I didn't care much for XV and I always wanted the original vision of Versus XIII but I think the dev team did what they could to salvage the project

Inverno157d ago

And yet people still blame him for the game turning out the way it did, rather than SE for the horrible mismanagement of 13 and Namura for being overly ambitious.

Dwarrior158d ago

Whatever the behind-the-scenes went on over the many years, at the end of the day it was a radical change in direction that I could not go along with. Also why I never bought 16.

gold_drake158d ago

this is also why Sakaguchi (spelling) left.
