V1 Racing is on the lookout for the next big talent in motorsport, and are taking the novel approach of starting its search on a free to play PC game.
Headed up by motorsport veteran Jay Marshall – who has worked alongside many of the greatest names of the past few years including legends such as Mansell and Senna – the initiative uses the highly acclaimed PC sim Live for Speed to put to the test of the credentials of any Formula 1 hopefuls. Taking to the wheel of a Formula BMW car, competitors take part in a number of race and qualifying sessions that are due to run alongside the remainder of this year's Grand Prix calendar, with the virtual events book-ending the real world race and qualifying sessions.
Live for Speed is a masterful sim based on solid driving physics. First released publicly in 2002, we ask the question: is it still relevant?
I am online way to much to have not heard about this game in 20 years....ridge racer, daytona usa, midnight club, need for speed, GT...etc. I even remember capcom's Auto modelista. I honestly thought someone misspelled need for speed here...so i think it isn't relevant?
The 2005 Xbox 360 version of Most Wanted is the best in the series in my opinion, the Rally Edition for PS1 was awesome too.
If you need to make an article about why something is relevant, that probably means it's not relevant.
I've legitimately never heard of this series, and I'm pretty deep into the gaming ecosystem.
