Gaming’s most ridiculous button prompts, including Call of Duty’s ‘Press F to Pay Respects’

Sometimes, our games really want us to press X to feel an unearned emotional response.

Duke Nukem Forever had a button prompt to pick up a turd.

It was optional, but still.

GameSpawn3476d ago

God of War 3 had a more sadistic button prompt when you were fighting Zeus. The game told you to keep mashing circle, but never told you to stop or automatically continued to the next scene. The entire screen just filled with blood and it was never ending until you stopped pressing circle (against what the prompt was telling you to do).

Psychological $^&% there.

I loved the button prompts in Deadpool.

minimur123477d ago

i loved that game, so funny.

JeffGrubb3477d ago

Batman does it first, but it's Batman so we give it a pass.

Pandamobile3477d ago

No, the F key. You know, that key that you just used twice in your comment?

ZombieKiller3477d ago

+1 for making me laugh Panda, that was pretty funny.

Batman has an excuse though because it's the massive event that made him what he is.

That game has other things that make me scratch my head before the "press X to pay your respects" like
HOW DOES ANYONE NOT NOTICE BATMAN SITTING OVER THE SPOT WHERE THOMAS AND MARTHA WERE KILLED?!
Sorry for the caps but seriously. Why does he call Alfred out loud through his comms?! Isn't he putting the only man named Alfred in Gotham at risk?! Furthermore, who does he EXPECT to pick up on the bat phone back at the cave? Clayface?!

My point (apart from bitching about my favorite game) is although funny, there are alot of these WTF moments in games. Lol, just go with it, it's better interactivity than just watching.

Oh I see, I never knew there were more uses! Learn something new everyday :D

Boy people can find just about anything to bitch about

I see Deadpool made the list. Also saw it in stock at the local game store. Second hand. Might finally pick up a copy.

That is a shame. AW is my favourite CoD. I hope they do a sequel one day.

LordoftheCritics399d ago

Thoroughly enjoyed AW.

Good campaign and everything.

LOGICWINS399d ago

Same. Fantastic campaign, but I wasn't crazy about the jetpacks in multiplayer.

RaidenBlack399d ago

I still prefer CoD based on historical settings or in near future settings(like CoD: Ghost) ... even though I liked infinite Warfare's campaign ... it was top notch

CobraKai399d ago

I felt it was a good time to revisit WW2

porkChop399d ago

I actually really enjoyed WWII. I never understood the hate it got.

JEECE399d ago

A lot of people who never played a shooter prior to like 2012 get really mad about anything that isn't a modern combat game.

I still plan on getting this game at some point. Just waiting for a price drop.

Lighter9462d ago

I couldn't finish it. You walk around and talk for most of the game. There's SOME fighting involved. Pretty boring to me.

Inverno462d ago

Just not from Activision, or Square.

Godmars290461d ago

Always thought Nolan North as a VA made a strong case for another Deadpool game. Just needs a good story to go along with great gameplay.

jznrpg461d ago

Games that have DLC shortly after the game comes out don’t interest me much
