Microsoft has made plenty of money on the Xbox division the problem is Xbox is lumped in with other divisions that dont make money so when the entertainment division reports a operating loss it looks bad.

Xbox division made over 2 billion in profits last year alone. Every console, every game, every accessory, ever movie.. Everything makes them money.

I understand that this is a joke, but it got me thinking about what Microsoft could do by making the game free.

First, it gets rid of that big initial hurdle of spending money up front to get into the game. Now that players are in the game, they can advertise an infinite amount of content packs for $1 or so each.

Of course, that's just a theory.

@dox, xbox lost 4-6 billion dollars. Xbox 360 lost another billion on RROD. Xbox One is still losing money. The division has always been in the red, and never recovered.

This is why you hear rumors of spinoffs.

You obviously didn't read it correctly then did you. If you did, you would know that it's not showing as free, but it becomes free when one adds the demo to the basket. Also, you have to do it on the online store, not the psn built into your playstation.

i just done it with the ps4 version in uk ans although it said full gane free like the others its still the demo.

havent got a vita or ps3 but i have selected to download them hoping it would allow me to buy ps4 edition cheaper.

This has been patched now. It looks like it works but the Vita version will now be the trial version and you can unlock the full game for £12.99 within the game and not on the online store, just the console store.
