Sony Found Issues in The PS4 Version of MineCraft, Must be Resubmitted

4J Studios: Sony found some issues we have to fix in their final test of #MinecraftPS4 :(
We're fixing, but we need to go through the process again.

spacedelete3548d ago

what a joke. how is there bugs in a game that is 8 bit or it may even be 1 bit and theres still bugs lol. its hilarious how long this game has taken to release. it should have been a next gen release game and almost 1 year later than last gen versions releases and still struggling to release.

LtSkittles3548d ago

They are working on the 360/Xbox One, PS3/4, and the Vita version.

They are trying to keep their fanbase happy, I'd say they're doing an excellent job, and even if they hadn't failed people would still be complaining, because of the lack of communication.

@spacedelete

So Sony should release a broken game just because it is take to long. STFU. I bought a PS4 for it and its games to run as best they can. If Sony says the game needs more work I'm glad they did. Look at Battlefield 4. Do we need to keep buying broken games. Problems happen but it Sony finds they are worth preventing release then they have seen something they think is important enough to be fixed right away.

sobotz3548d ago

I thought it's so easy to port from PC to PS4 since there's a lot of HD port now.

LtSkittles3548d ago (Edited 3548d ago )

"I thought it's so easy to port from PC to PS4 since there's a lot of HD port now."

They're not porting from PC, they're porting from their PS3 build.

-- DOUBLE POST --

I am so sorry <3

DoomeDx3548d ago

Even though I agree that its taking way to long for them to release this rather simple game, I cannot understand your logic :p

Technically its a 32-bit game with 8-bit textures. I fail to understand what 8-bit has to do with development time.. Because the '8-bit' thing is just about the textures. Not about actual coding, which is done in 32-bit.

Not trying to be a wiseass or anything, but Bits dont mean shit when it comes to development times.

TheoreticalParticle3548d ago

I'd be willing to bet that the issues are related to network connectivity and the developers not dealing with disconnects and lag the way Sony wants them to handle it.

ThatOneGuyThere3548d ago

I can tell you that the 3rd party test teams at sony are pretty good. most studios think their build is thoroughly tested until it hits 3rd party qa, then sony has to send them back.

Kiddcarter3548d ago

Minecraft is 8 or 1 bit huh? You truly have no clue what your talking about, do ya?

I hope it releases soon but if sony says it's not ready, it's not ready

TheWackyMan3548d ago

I don't think you know what bits are.

NovusTerminus3548d ago

I don't think you understand anothing on the development side of gaming.

TheoreticalParticle3548d ago

Moderators who make obvious mistakes can't be criticized? You live in a weird world.

It's the headline. Is it too much to ask that everyone put forward at least a token amount of effort into having it be grammatically correct?

Drithe3548d ago

Why didn't Sony find all the issues for Battlefield 4 before I bought it and couldn't play it for an entire month?

LtSkittles3548d ago (Edited 3548d ago )

The process for Q&A testing might be different, since that was also physical release.

I'm not 100% on how it works, I would think DICE would do their own for that.

ThatOneGuyThere3548d ago

it had to have passed DICE QA, EA QA, then Sony 3rd party QA. Here's the deal though, its possible to get certain things "waved" under certain conditions. Also, the test servers likely werent stress tested for long enough. Sony has last time I knew, about 60 online 3rd party testers in their department. If they did a 64p match, they likely didnt do it for more than a couple hours.

LtSkittles3548d ago

That's exactly why I said that lol, I knew I could be wrong.

MasterCornholio3548d ago

I thought the game had issues on all platforms not just Sonys.

:I

Rimeskeem3548d ago

I have a feeling the EA did not let them

rainslacker3548d ago

Compliance testing is more about making sure the game doesn't crash the system, interfere with a system operation, or do something that it's not supposed to...say delete something off the hard drive without using the system tools.

A game can fail if it crashes a lot, or causes a memory leak. Lots of things. But a game actually being buggy is not really part of compliance testing. It could be bad for console makers to have that responsibility, as it can be rather arbitrary on what constitutes a "broken" game.

Majong gets endless worlds and all kinds of other features running on Mobile. 4J doesn't even have to do all that and still can't get their version to function..... on better hardware....

Keith223548d ago

At least it doesn't have to go through the process again so must be small bugs (hopefully) was expecting it to be out today hopefully next week although I would defs say it would be out Sep 3rd EU Sep 2nd NA

Keith223548d ago

My bad Ive read it completely wrong :(

Soldierone3548d ago

It failed testing and Sony stated it needs to be fully re-submitted, which means it needs to go through the entire process again.

It's been in "testing" for several weeks now, so unless Sony allows it to speed up, it won't be out next week.

Infinite but not the first two games? Witcher 3 but not the first two games?? GTA V but not literally any of the games before it??? Portal 2 but not the first? Also if you're going to play Shadow of The Colossus play the remaster and not the remake. Can't say I disagree with the list but my man it's all over the place.

Name Last Name56d ago

I mean some sequels are objectively better and you don’t need to play the whole series.

Inverno56d ago

But most of these games have a story to follow, sure you can catch up with a YouTube vid but where's the fun in that?

LucasRuinedChildhood56d ago (Edited 56d ago )

A list like this isn't telling you not to play the previous games if you want to. It's just giving you legendary games to play.

But tbh, you don't always have to force yourself to play every entry in a franchise to get to the better ones.

- The vast majority of Witcher 3 players never played the first 2 and had a great time. The first 2 games aren't in the same league.
- The GTA games are self-contained with the odd fun reference. You can easily jump into any of them.
- The Shadow Of The Colossus remake looks and controls better than the original (plus it has a 60fps option while the remaster is just 30fps). New players will enjoy it more.
- Portal 2 is a lot better than Portal 1 and takes the concept much further gameplay-wise. Storywise, Portal 1 is fairly light too. Not that you shouldn't play it but realistically ... you'd love Portal 2 whether you play it or not (at lot of Portal 2 players have never played 1).

Bioshock 1 is the only one I agree with you on simply because it's one the best games of all time and arguably better than Infinite. No other setting like Rapture.

Looking at the list, I'd recommend playing Uncharted 1 before 2 but no doubt, 2 is the legendary one you have to play.

Inverno56d ago

I get it, but that's just my opinion on his opinion. I just think that before you play a sequel you should still play what came before it. Maybe it's just me but i find it fascinating playing through the first game in a series and seeing how it has evolved through its sequels. Like I said I don't disagree with the list, other than SoTC which I strongly believe the remaster of the original should be played above the remake.

AuraAbjure56d ago

Awesome list! Hot take on Fear (and it's hard af expansion Persaus Mandate!) Bioshock Infinite is stellar, so is the Witcher 3 and you nailed it by having Ocarina of Time. So many fantastic games! Gotta play 'em all! Next one on my list is Prey after I beat Dead Space 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction.

Minecraft Bedrock Introduces Official Add-Ons To Marketplace

Minecraft Bedrock is introducing add-ons to the marketplace. The add-ons can now be added to many existing and new worlds.

Jin_Sakai77d ago (Edited 77d ago )

Nice! Next up, shaders on consoles.

“A new update is improving how mods work for Minecraft Bedrock. Mojang has introduced add-ons to the marketplace.”

“These add-ons can now easily be added to new and existing worlds instead of being tied to a single world.
There are plenty of free and paid add-ons that will let you customize just about anything in your world.”

OtterX75d ago

So RayTracing is no longer locked to the NVIDIA maps? I know there was a workaround, but it will be nice to have easier access to all worlds.
