It never was a selling point for me on the Wii and I can't see it being a 'must have' on the 360..

Tempist5859d ago

Sweet micro lightsaber.... oh wait.

Well, as they say, 'third time's the charm'. But I think it's quite gimmicy.

Can anyone confirm if this be true or not?

P.S., calling it the newton is probably the worst idea ever. Remember the Apple Newton?

titntin5859d ago

I've confirmed it to be true, and that its coming on a couple of occasions. Theres an awful lot of reports now too..

I've worked on two games now that are intended solely for the 360 motion controller. The first one was delievered at the end of last year - the second is still in development, and awaiting approval. I had no idea what the controller looked like though....

ericnellie5859d ago (Edited 5859d ago )

Doesn't it look sort of like a vibrator with a couple of extra buttons =) Just kidding!

P4KY B5859d ago

"a couple of extra"

Just how many buttons does your vibrator have?

themyk5859d ago

that controller is super ugly. and if it's IR based it already fails.

ericnellie5859d ago

It was a joke...
Why is everyone so damn serious all the time?
Okay, cool idea; but do I think it will sell more 360s? No
Why? Because I think they'll need a hell of a lot more games that will support the new controller and I don't see them coming out with a lot of games at the beginning that will support motion sensing.

sonarus5859d ago

I'm predicting this will fail. Msoft doesn't have the games to back this motion controller up and people are looking into motion controllers are making wii games. All this can mean is 360 might get some of wii's games but its not like wii 3rd party games are much to boast about anyway.

IMO they should have just gone with a motion controller add on sort of like sixaxis that way ps3 and 360 controller are on a more even plain where motion sensing isn't cumpolsory but its an option

Dark_Vendetta5859d ago

It's a fake. Look at this pic:
http://blog.wired.com/photo...
It's a controller developed by Motus Games for 360, Ps3, and PC.
Proof: http://www.motusgames.com/
Took me 2min to find it with google

Montrealien5859d ago (Edited 5859d ago )

@Dark Vendeta

I think if anything your pics shows how valid this may be. It is more Microsoft`s MO to just buy some tech and addapt it to the 360. Don`t you all agree?

this is one of the scrolling links at the bottom of the site talking 360 rumours...

http://kotaku.com/382637/mi...

TheMART5859d ago

MS doesn't have the games???

Wel uhm... All those many Wii games can be ported easily because the power of the 360 compared to that weak supercharged Gamecube. So all 3rd party minigame stuff etc. can be ported in no time. Extra potential to earn bucks for those 3rd party devs that are making those bad games, but still sell to kids.

LJWooly5859d ago (Edited 5859d ago )

So, you really want the 360 to get in on the minigame shovelware that resides on the Wii? You'd be better off without those games. The 360 has a pretty decent quality games library, let's keep it that way.

Seriously, the reason I vastly prefer the PS3 and 360 to the Wii is because of the games. If what you propose happens, and crap like "Carnival Games" and "EA Playground" gets ported to 360, then I, and every other gamer with an inkling of self-respect, shall be left with only one console ;_;

The day when 90% of 360 owners are computer-illiterate old age pensioners and 4-year-olds (a la Wii fanbase) is the day I lose all my faith in humanity. Or at least, Microsoft.

mikeslemonade5859d ago

This is fail if it's going to use a sensor bar. This is win if it uses the vision camera.

BulletToothtony5859d ago

i mean if they're gonna copy something they should somehow improve it and come up with some better ideas...

But this as well as the Scene it controller, (straight up copy of PS buzz controller) just goes to show how much MS lacks creativity..

the worst5859d ago

next they will copy the PLAYSTATION EYE
they will come out camera with a mic on it

Capt CHAOS5859d ago

So by including a HD in the PS3, they copied what? The Xbox?
As long as copying from each other makes them more competitive and gives us better value then I'm all for it.

ps360fella5859d ago

they wont need to the 360 has something called "a proper damn headset that works whenever unlike my damn $40 ps3 bluetooth headset that connects whenever it feels like and drops the connection when starting a new online match" so i think they'll skip the camera with the mic

Rock Bottom5859d ago (Edited 5859d ago )

First they say the Wii is not a competitor, few days later they shamelessly copy the Wii's selling point.

truly hardcore.

Rock Bottom5859d ago (Edited 5859d ago )

As cheap as the six-axis is a better way to say it.

Also, it looks fake. =__=

Ashton5859d ago (Edited 5859d ago )

couldn't they atleast work on the looks since they didn't work much on invention part?it looks like a freakin dildo ,,lol XD

P.S. i know this is just a rumor now,,so it might not look like this

Dark_Vendetta5859d ago

Can't believe it's real (well actually I hope it's not) especially because it looks really ugly (and I'm not a Sony fanboy).

clintos595859d ago

I mean this is o funny I mean I know companys copy each other but those pics are hilarious, lol. I mean sony did copy the wii but atleast they left there controller the way it is now, MS on the other hand when they copy, they COPY, lol. I cant stop laughing man, im going to show this to my cousin, he is a nintendo fanboy and he hates sony and ms, lol but this should make him go nuttz, lol.

Bloodshedder5859d ago

not that funny or original... that thing look ugly:S

Metal Gear Solid 5, Nearly After A Decade, Is Still A Timeless Classic

The Metal Gear series, led by Kojima, pioneered the stealth genre, creating a masterclass in storytelling and gameplay.

No. But MGS5: Ground Zeroes might actually be one of the greatest Game Demo ever, if not the best.

xHeavYx4h ago

I know a lot of people didn't, but I actually liked that story twist at the end. The game was fun and all, but I wouldn't call it a timeless classic.

just_looken1h ago

A demo is free that was a $40 cry for help as later we would know konami did not want to fun hideo and his team anymore that is why we got the unfinished phantom pain.

-Foxtrot6h ago(Edited 5h ago)

Meh

Great stealth gameplay but the game was just average.

Bland open world that felt lifeless, the story felt shoehorned in, unfinished story etc. The whole thing was just average to me compared to the other main titled games.

I would have rather preferred it if they kept Ground Zeroes for the main game as the opening and the rest of the game turns into a Metal Gear 1 & 2 remake to bring things full circle.

just_looken1h ago

If you dig around they had old behind trhe scenes of phantom pain vids and books wrote around the time.

Before funding was puled the main idea was to keep peace walker coop it was in the games early builds and that end game were your building your base that was suppose to be metal gear one.

You as the fake big boss was going to make your own metal gear one map aka your base (outer heaven) then me as sold snake use the mode that is in the game invade/defeat the base even fight your current version of metal gear that was in the game but not finished.

So your idea was on the table bit got canned.

CrimsonWing695h ago(Edited 5h ago)

Like hell it is. That was the first time I became aware of being sold an unfinished game and was blown away about blind fanboys saying it was some perfect game.

Yea, the first few chapters were great until they do that thing halfway and make you replay all the missions again. Then little things like capturing animals but only seeing a JPEG unlike 3 where everything was modeled out. Areas were massive, desolate, and boring to look at.

Game was a massive let down for me and the potential was so high for it. Honestly, this was one of the most disappointing games I ever played. What’s worse is it starts off brilliant. You literally play through until you get to the point where you could tell they just stopped developing and then quickly used glue and construction paper to “finish” it and then sold it. Quite frankly, that’s insulting to consumers and fans.

Inverno5h ago

People have selective memory. This game had huge drama attached to it, what Konami did to Kojima and this game was horrible. Now they praise Konami cause they revived Silent Hill, even though SH looks half arsed too.

CrimsonWing695h ago

I dunno if they’re getting much praise after the Silent Hill 2 debacle. Makes me scared sh*tless for the MGS 3 Remake…

JEECE5h ago

Yes and no. In many ways in was a great game; there's a very strong argument that it has the best gameplay of any MGS game, and that it is one of the more interesting open world "playgrounds" we have gotten, in terms of how the world operates. But as an MGS narrative, it is pretty far down the list, for many reasons.

Fishy Fingers4h ago

For me, best gameplay, worst, everything else.

I'd love a remaster of both games with 4K, raytracing, and the ability to have both AA and AO at the same time.

Petebloodyonion1d ago

Remasters were made for Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2009 Chronicles of Riddick Assault on Dark Athena

porkChop14h ago

It was a remaster of the first game, plus a sequel. The sequel was never remastered though. In the PC version you couldn't even have AA and AO, you had to choose one or the other. You can't buy it anymore either on PC.

MrBaskerville1d 3h ago

MS owns the developer, if only they wanted to bother with the license, could be a nice addition to Series X BC program. These titles and Arx Fatalis.

Petebloodyonion23h ago

Microsoft does not own Starbreeze Studios; it is owned by Digital Bros through its subsidiary, 505 Games.
Tigon Studios, founded by Vin Diesel, primarily develops games featuring him and holds licenses related to these games.

ZwVw20h ago

You're thinking about MachineGames (Wolfenstein) which was formed by several ex Starbreeze staff after Assault on Dark Athena was released (whose owned by Zenimax/Bethesda), now owned by MS.

rlow11d 1h ago

Great games, wish they would make another.
