3D Blu-ray disc movies coming soon...

According to Blu-ray.com 3D Blu-ray movie discs are almost here,

"TDVision Systems will present a new 3D system at SID 2008 that not only makes use of a standard Blu-ray disc, but is also compatible with existing, non-3D Blu-ray players. Unlike other high definition 3D options, when the 3D film is played in a non-3D Blu-ray player, it will play without any loss of quality, color, frame rate, or resolution.

The 3D system is compatible with current 3D televisions from Samsung and Mitsubishi which make use of the Texas Instruments 3D DLP chips."

Sounds cool, now bring on the 3d Blu-ray porn. Nice that it's compatible with other Blu-ray players, I assume the PS3 is one of 'em.

man now i forgot bluray even existed(no i don't buy them yet)

im just waiting for the prices to fall alittle bit more for me to invest in them

DevonTheDude5355848d ago

You obviously haven't been to a Fry's electronics store. They have Blu-ray movies on sale all the time (typically featured in their infamous Friday ads). The lowest price I paid for a Blu-ray movie was $10.99, they typically have a good selection (on average ~20 movies on sale) for $11.99 most of the time in the ads. I bought an HD-DVD from them back when the war was still going for $7.99, it was Clerks 2. I don't know how Fry's gets away with it but they undercut Best Buy, Circuit City, and even Amazon.com all the time on Blu-ray movies. I assume they are sold at or just above cost (it's a good way to get people into the store). Compare those prices to average DVD's, pretty close in price for a superior quality HD movie.

spectyre5848d ago (Edited 5848d ago )

They have weekly blue ray deals.

As far as 3D tv...meh. I wish Sony would hurry up and release a 50" OLED for about $1200. Hey, I can dream can't I?

znu5848d ago

OLED...*drools* with a million to one contrast ratio ;)

Meresin5848d ago

I pick them up used for around $15 all the time. People buy them, watch them once, then sell them to local places that'll pay cash. It's fiscally irresponsible of them, but it's a huge boon to me. Kinda messed up, but if I wait a week after a movie's release on Blu-ray, I can generally get it for $15 somewhere.

Amazon has some good deals every once in a while, too, and their marketplace has a lot of used listings that have decent prices. I think they're actually still doing their two for $30 deal or whatever it was...It's only on select movies, but it's still a bargain, and they've got some good ones on that list. I got The Departed and Appleseed: Ex Machina for $15 apiece, effectively, new.

Look around. You're bound to find decent pricing if you're patient.

It's an outstanding game and so was The Old Blood. Also a lost era of gaming. Interesting, I received a physical copy of The Old Blood 9 years ago today from Poland. It was digital only in North America initially upon release so I had to import.
