Kotaku: Gametrailers "Blows It "

So I poked the console-wars snake last week and learned a big Fat Albert lesson about people's feelings in the process. Gametrailers, with a longer history than me, not so much.

Even though it was the reviewer/footage dude's fault, GT has its fault for passing it.

Thankfully they're failing at that;Look at what happened to Gamespot,considered to be the worst site to go to for Ps3 reviews and articles.They're now an absolute joke,they could give MGS4 a 0/10 and Ps3 owners wouldn't care,they could give MGS4 a 10/10 and Ps3 owners wouldn't care.They lost the one thing that kept them in business;Gamer support.

how can gametrailer say that the ps3 has bad crash dynamics when the video they showed actualy had a ps3 footage dressed up as an xbox footage showing what they claim to be as an example of great crash dynamics - something they claim the ps3 version doesn't have? sony should stop relationships with them for a reason. in this case the reason to embargo gt is a fair one because you don't feed the hand that bites you.

i have just been on the phone directly to the gametrailer team and they assured me that it was all a mistake. they also said that they endeavour to ALWAYS 100% OF THE TIME show ps3 games in the most favourable light. To prove this fact they just sent me pictures of the latest equipment they used to capture all PS3 multiplatform games for side by side comparisons. After seeing the pictures of the ps3 screenplay capture equipment (SEE ATTACHED IMAGES) i have no reason to not believe in their integrity.

Sony has given us quality gaming for the past decade plus. Then all of sudden MS releases 360 and people turn their nose up at the PS3? Not even that, some are going out of their way to bash the system. I've said before that my only gripe against 360 was the hardware failure. Not being able to use any HDD and having to pay for XBL are a distant second. I read the hardware specs when both were coming out and all these critics agreed the PS3 was the more powerful machine. Some devs disagreed but I'm speaking in gaming journalism.

Maybe it's because I'm not in my teens anymore and I work and have a family that I'm not in a rush for Sony to show it's entire hand. Maybe that's how I, and others, can wait for quality games, Homes, etc.

i spent about 1 year in the joystiq website and trust me dude... i felt that kotaku was less biased..

joystiq it's really really incredibly biased.. even now, just go back a few pages back and look at how they just trashed the ps3 with GTA4, really MAKING it look like it was the only one with freezing problems.. they even had a poll about freezing issues and the 360 and ps3 were almost neck to neck and yet they kept posting crap about the ps3.

Right away they put another post about the "12 Step to fix your Ps3" and they put all that crap that didn't even helped.

Just go to their comment section and you'll see why they do it.. because 80% of their readers are ps3 haters, so they keep their audience happy.

Even when Mgs4 that it was gonna use a 50gb BD disc they're the ones suggesting that it was probably lack of compression.. i mean they may post positive ps3 news but they twist them as to doubt and fud just in order to flaimbait.

i got so sick of it.. only reason why i visit like once a week at the most it's just to check if they have changed.. but nope. They gotta keep their audience happy hating the ps3..

I KNEW there was something wrong with GT comparisons! It goes all the way back to the launch titles. GT was always turning down the contrast and turning up the brightness on the PS3 side, making it look more washed out.

I've said this before about the 360 vs PS3 game videos on some sites. I've always thought that the PS3 version of the games look a hell of a lot better than what these guys were showing.

EG..When Gametrailers shown the PS3 vs 360 video of COD4 and GTA IV, I looked at them and knew that either they swap the videos around or tampered with them, because since I have both versions on both the 360 and PS3 I know for a fact they both look better on the PS3 and my 1080P LCD TV

Whoa... that's all I got to say. I never did go to GameTrailers much and now I know why. :D I never could quite place it, maybe because I couldn't prove it, but I'm glad others did. Kudos. This stuff should never be tolerated. I hope more people take this as a lesson learned. Not necessarily as a shame on you, but more as a reminder that your opinion is the one that counts. It is fine to look for advice, but final say is yours to control. GameTrailers should be ashamed of itself. :( Let's hope they learn their lesson too.

BUT the one thing that I do is take their reviews (and PS3 vs 360 videos) with a grain of salt, an itsy-bitsy-teeney-weenie grain at that!

I've been a member on GT for a long time, but I'm fed up with that site, seriously. I've seen a LOT, and everything is more true than (some of you) you could imagine.

Even the guys at Screwattack. Some of you might have seen the "Top 10 Playstation 3 exclusives" that they released one year after the ps3 launch. Where they only had ps3 exclusives in the top 4 spots since they said that "the ps3 just don't have any good games *laugh*". And the MOST annoying thing about this is that even up to this date, they still haven't released a "top ten 360 exclusives" movie.

I prefer PS3 over X360. I am not a fanboy. Yust think PS3 gives more for the money. Would like to have X360 fot its HQ exclusive titles, but dont want to spend money for something that will break in a few months. Also think PS3 is really time proof, and history will repeat as on Ps2 games will be bether over time. Remember TOCA race driver 2 when no one believed it can be done same quality on PS2 as on XB. Now look at the Race Driver 3 on PS2. After 6 years on same hardware games are better and better. Good luck to all X360 owners with rrod, peace with you. We are brothers in games.
