Ray Porreca of Entertainment Buddha writes: "From nailing down atmosphere, to introducing characters and setting the scene, the best opening scenes in video game history have the power to stay with you long after the game has been turned off."
The tiny green slasher villain returns in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and is as frightening as ever.
The way it was handled was so dumb. One shots in melee...your teammates are to ostupid to get away from its attack. So you most often end up alone in a certain fight.
Video games are no longer just a simple past time. Today's games are evolving into true works of art. Offering intriguing narratives, cinematic setpieces, and profound messages, games can entertain us for hundreds of hours.
I never got around to mass effect - I’m skeptical that it would hold up if I were to try it now
Final Fantasy 7 has come back under the spotlight thanks to the release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, but is it worth replaying the original?
Very much so. Graphically it's dated but the story and the gameplay haven't aged a day. It's still one of my all time favourite RPGs and for me is better than Remake in some ways.
My best openings in a video game include: "Final Fantasy VIII, Metal Gear Solid 3, Devil May Cry 3, BioShock 1, BioShock: Infinite, Final Fantasy X..."
The intro to Mass Effect 2 would be in my list.
FF7....REALLY?
Come on man
I know you might think it all comes down to opinion but the majority of "Top - Lists" on here, when it includes something FF related, is ALWAYS FF7...even if other FF games did something better then it.
We all know FF8 had a better opening.
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver and Omega Boost from the old PS1 days. Not to mention the original Silent Hill.
I really liked Ocarina of Time's opening.
