Considering that this was a quick port to a hand held system, handled by a relative handful of people in comparison to the usual Tales game Development teams, and there was very little advertising done for the game, then Namco must have made a healthy profit from the Tales of the Abyss 3D re-release.
So why hasn’t Namco released or even announced any more games? With the 10 year anniversary of Symphonia receiving the HD re-release treatment on PS3, why not show some love on the 3DS side, since the audience is also there and there is profit to be made from it?
Gary Green said: Namco Bandai heard the call of many fans asking for the PlayStation release of Tales of Graces which was originally released seemingly exclusively for the Wii back in 2009. If you’re acquainted with the Tales series then Graces f won’t be something entirely new to you, yet if you’re a newcomer then you’ll find a plethora of gameplay mechanics and nuances that distinguish this series from other JRPGs. While the game finds itself following the traditional archetype of JRPGs, such as a somewhat clichéd story, Graces has something to offer to both veterans and newcomers alike.
Today it was announced that the gaming and anime industry has lost another beloved artist and creator. Mutsumi Inomata has passed away.
The Tales Of series are some of the best RPGs I've ever played, and the characters are a big reason for that. I don't think I played a single game in the series that I didn't enjoy. Rest in peace.
Wow she was the character designer for Tales of Destiny one of my favorites of all time =(
I love the Tales games. Phantasia will always be my favorite. Ironically I felt like as the series progressed the character design became too “anime cliche.”
There's a surprising amount of overlap between Marvel's Mad Titan and a lesser-known Tales villains -- but which is the better baddie?
Uh, if you want to play Tales games, go for the PS3 versions instead of the 3DS then...? Don't hear me complaining about not getting the Vita games localized. I'd love that, but at least we're getting something with Tales of Symphonia HD, as well as Xillia 2.
3ds could do Tales just the same as Gamecube Im sure. I would kill to own Tales of Symphonia on 3DS.
i just started tales of vesperia and im loooooving it. i hope they bring more to ps4 next gen
Sony "bought" the Tales Of studios. That is the only thing that can explain the incomplete/beta games for the Wii/Xbox360 and PS3 perfect versions, the early ports released on Vita and their total refusal in making a 3DS game, and Baba's recent statements about the "series fans being only on PS3".
Now even the new born PS4 is getting a game in early development. Meanwhile, Baba lies about the Wii U "needing a bigger install base" even to receive a damn port and totally refusing to make a port of the new game for Xbox One/Wii U.
Just got Tales of Vesperia early today on XBL which cost $15 folks go download it.
