Activision is running to the defense of Infinity Ward as members of the gaming media try to run a damage control campaign after it was revealed that Call of Duty: Ghosts isn't running native 1080p on the PlayStation 4, but was instead relegated to 720p.
The details for multiple future Call Of Duty games appear to have leaked, including a follow-up to Advanced Warfare.
Activision Blizzard ordered to pay $23.4M for patent infringement involving popular games.
I would read the article but the giant pop-ups from the top and bottom of the screen made me close it.
Without reading $23.4 million isn't a deterrent for a company that size.
Boss: Let's fire a few people to recoup on that loss.
Slave: Cortana has decided to get rid of Arkane Austin and Tango Gameworks.
Boss: Let's get those Firing Letters "Copilot Approved" and send them through the power of the cloud.
Slave: Long Live Phil !!!
ALL in the room: LONG LIVE PHIL !!!!
Well another troll company with a patent trying to extort money out of companies. Seems like they’re going to try and sue everyone.
The legal battle for the acquisition of Activision Blizzard continues, with Microsoft countering one of the FTC's latest moves and the Judge delaying a relevant ruling.
Look, to be honest the FTC should just stop.
MS has A/B and nothing has really changed yet...if you are worried about 5-10 years from now...just drop it cause the future is unpredictable.
Take this week's news, that 4 Xbox exclusive are going Multiplatform.
Either damage control or just a political move.
You decide.
Im guessing it was a political move by Activision to help Microsoft save face. Make both games look somewhat identical by limiting the PS4s resolution. Then release a patch at launch to take the PS4 version back to native 1080p... So nobody knows the difference.
The problem, Activision got caught with their hand in the cookie jar and Microsoft was outed. My guess is, it was done by Infinity Wards own people to out Microsofts controlling ways. Show Microsoft that it doesnt matter how much damage control they do, the truth will always come out.
After all, if you were the developer... Wouldnt you want the best of your work to be seen and shown off, without compromise? Not limited by an outside source, who has nothing to do with the project?
Regardless, the PS4 is still getting the best console version of the game and no amount of marketing or NDAs are going to change that.
at this point idgaf.
So much flipping flopping, I don't care anymore, I'm gonna play it regardless
Don't know about you guys but Native 1080p vs Native 720p, 1080p having more pixels than 720p. After looking at the video, the screen pixel fill rate on both are the same. Meaning 720p even upscaled to 1080p will have less viewable pixels ie there should be more on screen at 1080 vs 720. This is not the case from the video so I believe they are both running at 720p
