This game is fast, good looking, fun and brutal.

I want to play this!

Looks average. Hit detection looks like a mess. And you're not suppose to fly 5 feet if you accidently both attack. It's clunky.

Shadowsteal3926d ago

Uhm play God of War: Ascension then play this I doubt this is as fun as God of War multiplayer. This looks incredibly lackluster.

FunAndGun3926d ago

GoW:A MP is completely bananas and is crazy fun!

falcon973926d ago

Looks ok not seeing anything special here guys its QTE like that heavy rain only heavy rain looked better graphically....I look forward to X wiiu that will be open world and 4 player co-op with real time gameplay without QTE added in ????

3926d ago
Legion213926d ago

Heavy rain looked better? Come on now, stop trolling.

ZodTheRipper3926d ago

It's not fast, but it's definately good looking.
It's brutal, but it's definately not fun.

DonFreezer3926d ago

Ignore all the ps trolls.Anyone who does not have a Xbox One pre ordered or plans to buy one should not comment on something that whether it sucks or not they're not gonna play it.

KonsoruMasuta3926d ago

Calls other people trolls - only has one bubble.

ZodTheRipper3926d ago (Edited 3926d ago )

Care to explain why? I think everyone has the right to speak his mind about everything on this site, as long as it's justified. Plus, you will get exactly this game if the devs don't read any criticism, and I don't think that you would want that deep inside.

starchild3925d ago

@KonsoruMasuta

That has zero bearing on anything and you know it.

Some of the biggest trolls on this site have 7 or 8 bubbles. It's a meaningless distinction. You just have to be pro-Sony on this site.

Sony trolls bubbling up other Sony trolls doesn't mean those people are any less trolls.

Nor does it mean that the people who get de-bubbled for having other console preferences are trolling. You can get de-bubbled on this site for simply saying you are excited for a game on another platform. It's pathetic.

dark-hollow3926d ago

I hate when exclusives get free passes with irrational praise (or sometimes hate) just because they're exclusives.

Lets call a spade a spade, the latest gameplay trailers are very lackluster and the gameplay is looking very clunky. Not saying you are wrong for liking ryse, but lets be realistic. If this is was multiplatform, we would call it as what it is.

I am certainly not entertained.

Salooh3926d ago (Edited 3926d ago )

If Knack have a 18 rating i would say it's suuuucks compared to crash . But it's not aiming for adult , it's kids game so i think it's great for them .

Killzone shadow fall looks awesome but the gameplay is not a big step but at least it's step where you can see the change to the good side

Love motor storm but drive club is not interesting to me at all , If the game is like the reveal footage then it will be alright and i may enjoy it . Don't forget it's (free) game in ps+ so why should i complain about it ?. I will try it my self then judge it .

This is my honest opinion on these 3 sony games . And if i want to apply this honest thinking on killzone i have to apply it on forza / fable / gears/ halo too and all of them doesn't make me feel i'm getting a new experience on next generation . Which one i prefer ?. killzone for it's graphics and story , that's just my opinion..

But when you look at Quantum Break , the order and inFAMOUS second son it's a great step ^^ .

callahan093926d ago

I see a ton of glitches in that demo. Can they get it all fixed up before launch? It's crunch time if they want to release it at launch without all those bugs. Could be tough.

Booyah3926d ago (Edited 3926d ago )

was this MP ?

edit- or was this some kind of hordes mode ?

I_am_Batman3926d ago

They said in the video the that it is some kind of a coop mode against waves of enemies.

Lovable3926d ago

Looks clunky and repetitive.

Bigpappy3926d ago

That's co-op arena battles and it looks hella fun. Killing is all you do in the arena. What do you want in there? A story or a car to jack? You guy don't know what to say and drop some lame comments.

Lovable3926d ago

Hey I say what I see. It is repetitive and that's a fact. Quit crying just because others don't like your game.

shysun3926d ago

The combat looks really lame!....and repetitive! ;)

ZodTheRipper3926d ago

Some games actually have good combat mechanics that make PLAYING fun. This is not even fun to watch, even if it looks gorgeous.

pyramidshead3926d ago

it's called an opinion bigpappy learn to take them better.

starchild3925d ago

@Lovable

By "others" you really mean "Playstation fanboys".

Every one of you guys in here hating on this game are long time Sony fanboys. You aren't fooling anybody.

It doesn't matter how good games on other platforms look, you guys will always hate on them and find the tiniest things to blow out of proportion in order to bash the game.

sobotz3926d ago

All multiplayer mode in all games are repetitive, genius

KonsoruMasuta3926d ago

That's the most bs statement I have ever read.

Bluepowerzz3926d ago

yeah but the ones on xbox one arent . get out of here stupid kid born when ps2 was launched thats why you switched to 360 without thinking you will get what you deserve on xbox one microsoft will make sure of it.

M-M3926d ago (Edited 3926d ago )

I agree, now watch everyone call me a Sony fanboy even though I had a great amount of faith in Ryse. You can definitely tell that this used to be a Kinect title, I'm pretty sure if they pushed Ryse's release date back they could make the game a whole lot better than what I'm seeing right now.

ziggurcat3926d ago

Wait... This was supposed to be a kinect title?

Jeff2573926d ago

@ ziggurcat

Yes it was initially announced in 2011 as Codename Kingdoms and was going to be a Kinect title. Then in 2012 they changed it to a Kinect/controller hybrid and announced the actual title as Ryse. Then this past May they changed the title to Ryse: Son Of Rome and announced it would now be an XBOX One exclusive using the controller with Kinect for voice commands.

Bigpappy3926d ago (Edited 3926d ago )

" now watch everyone call me a Sony fanboy even though I had a great amount of faith in Ryse."

That doesn't work for me. I look at your comment history to make such judgments. You may not be aware of it (I seriously doubt that), but you have been defending comments against Sony and slamming M$ games every time you posted.

I am still not going to call you a fanboy though. Your prediction still is still false.

theWB273926d ago

Looking good. That lighting is stupendous, even for offscreen. The camera makes everything look intense.

Multiplayer visuals are usually lower than the story. Safe to say, since Crytek likes to show how pretty everything is, there will be epic, visual moments in the story mode.

porkChop3926d ago (Edited 3926d ago )

With Crytek you never have to worry about graphics, only the gameplay. I'm saying that as a PC gamer that has played every Crytek game starting with the original Far Cry. Their games always look gorgeous, and they're great benchmarks to test a new rig. But as far as the actual gameplay goes they're decent, but never amazing. They do always have some interesting ideas/concepts though. And they're pretty poor when it comes to performance optimization.

theWB273926d ago

Yea, and sometimes there's nothing wrong with that. Sometimes I like a game that's looks good and entertains.

CoLD FiRE3923d ago

"And they're pretty poor when it comes to performance optimization."

That might have been true with their older games but Crysis 3 runs like butter on my system and that's @1440p. Crysis 3 is heavily optimized. Looks like their entry to console gaming helped them rethink their development approach.

porkChop3926d ago

I'm actually very interested in Ryse. The singleplayer gameplay wasn't too impressive to me, but I think the coop looks like at lot of fun. I'm a bit optimistic about this game because it isn't a shooter. All Crytek has ever done is shooters and they haven't really stood out in that genre apart from graphics and nanosuit/feral powers. Ryse being a hack and slash is a very different direction for them, and I'm glad that they're at least trying to branch out.

No_Limit3926d ago (Edited 3926d ago )

Yes! I was entertained with that 12 minutes of gameplay. Adding this game to my launch lineup.

Edit: LOL, the disagrees. The Roman soldiers are outnumbered by the Sony army once again. ;)

I'm still waiting for the sequel.

HyperMoused395d ago

Ryse was awesome, i have no idea why it wasnt recieved well and why we havnt seen another, Rome conquered so much, you could take the action anywhere, and it looked great when xbox one came out, now would be even better.

Ryse: Son of Rome Deserves a Second Shot

Ryse: Son of Rome was an Xbox One launch title that has been left to collect dust, but Crytek should set aside Crysis and give Ryse another shot.

It was a great game, it had issues but it can only go up from here.

crazyCoconuts651d ago

It was just ok. Looked really good for an Xbox game though

Snookies12650d ago

"for an Xbox game"

Way to subtly throw shade there. It looked amazing compared to any game at the time it was released.

Never played it myself though, wasn't really interested in it personally. Plus it came at a time when I didn't own an Xbox console. But it was at least different than the usual copy/paste games we get. So I hope it gets another chance sometime soon.

Crows90650d ago

It was a crytek game though

1nsomniac650d ago (Edited 650d ago )

It was a stunning game on all basis. One of the standout games for Xbox as a whole. I ended up buying on pc as well… and yes nothing looked better than it in PC at the time either. Nothing just ok about it, definitely needs a sequel.

fr0sty650d ago

@snookies12, don't pretend like the Xbox One didn't struggle with being gimpled by its tiny pool of ESRAM as a frame buffer. It was significantly weaker than the PS4.

crazyCoconuts650d ago

Metacritic 60, user score 6.4. I'm not alone in putting it into the "ok" category...

VenomCarnage89650d ago

@snookies
Haven't played it but at least you know enough to defend Xbox over it. The game did look good, for an Xbox game. That's not some "subtle shade," it's full on reality.
I remember it being nearly the only graphically decent game on the Xbone for like the first two years after launch, and graphics were that games strength

CrimsonWing69650d ago

I really enjoyed it. Bought it at launch even.

ManMarmalade650d ago (Edited 650d ago )

The qte's were disappointing though. God of war was doing it back in the ps2 days. As gorgeous as the game was, the gameplay needed to be updated.

annoyedgamer651d ago

I really liked the original Ryse but Crytek doesn't have the funds. The mismanaged their properties and let EA raid them with Crysis for the duration of their relationship. Right now they are working on Crysis 4, I doubt they can spare resources to work on a Ryse sequel.

gamer7804650d ago

It would have to be funded by MS, I really liked Ryse sure it got repetitive but the setting visuals and story were good

moriarty1889650d ago

MS should have funded a sequel to Ryse and Sunset OD. Two good franchises they definitely needed last gen.

annoyedgamer650d ago

MS is too busy trying to become the next EA, Ryse wont be on their list of titles to finance unless it gets a hipster makeover with lootboxes.

darthv72651d ago (Edited 651d ago )

I recently bought it for the steamdeck and have to say... 60fps is a game changer. I really wished MS had gotten a one x patch or series boost mode option but sadly, nope. Other games that definitely deserve a second chance (esp on steamdeck/pc) are quantum break and sunset overdrive. Both deserved 60fps support on one x / series but you have to go to PC for that.

Rumor has it Crytek had plans for a Ryse 2 but due to the low turnout for XB (at the time) it was shelved. They really should give this another shot. i dont care if its multiplat on PS and XB and PC and Switch... just so long as part 2 gets made.

babadivad650d ago

The game is automatically boosted on Series X

darthv72650d ago

sorry... but it's not. It still runs at the same fps the XBO did.

lelo2play650d ago

Game was good enough, not great.
Graphically it was top notch. Still holds well till this day.

Crows90650d ago

It only needed more enemy variety and few more movesets or weapons to use. That would have made the experience tons better.

MadLad650d ago

It was a good game.
Only time I saw quick time events actually make me feel engaged.

This is not what I would call value for money spent. They give you quests in liveservice games to get you "re-engaged" with the monetization schemes or to get you hooked or so you at least spend some extra on skins and loot boxes. Then they dole out paltry points after you have already paid extra for whichever liveservice within a liveservice that you are already paying for. My worry is people can't actually be that stupid to fall for this, can they?

littletad656d ago

Absolutely nothing in this comment makes sense. At all.

anast655d ago (Edited 655d ago )

How does it not make sense? O thy god of reason, shine some evidence upon us. Ryse of Rome, ESO,and AC: Origins are all live service games, between them you can get 275 points. Liveservice games are made to keep people spending. Therefore, Gamepass is a live service and the points are for playing live service games.

It is not my problem that this does not make sense to you, it is absolutely your problem. I mean it is all your problem.

Julion0715656d ago (Edited 656d ago )

Hate Xbox but comments in every Xbox article 😂 without making sense smh

anast655d ago

Bring the evidence and then your emoji might make sense.
