I hope so, they just gotta start pumping out the big name games. And a price drop wouldn't hurt.

I still think they can turn things around like they did with the 3DS. People said 3DS was a failure but a simple price change and a few big games and boom #1 month after month.

but Wii U has a smaller install base in US by several millions, and Pikmin 3 still placed number 1. thats quite a feat for one of Nintendo's lesser tier franchises.

Given that Nintendo titles have been long burners the last years, it's not bad, but hardly impressive. Second place was a "Tales of" JRPG. Third and fourth were also Japanese (one of them on Vita). And this is the US market. It's not exactly high season.

Small install base? You bet. Strange that it didn't move more consoles.

On a sidenote, it's good to see creative Japanese games making their way to the States.

Yeah they are still holding their own. The next months sales charts will be unique since the new games and exclusives along with the next gen consoles.

Wow, the Vita attach rate for Dragon's Crown is really high o.O

Considering that the PS3 has like 78 million units out and sold about 100k in its first week yet the Vita only 5.5 million and sold nearly 40k.

It's even higher if these sales don't include digital purchases. Of the 9 or 10 psn friends I have who play it on vita, the livearea said that 6 or 7 of them bought it from the ps store.

I didn't think Pikmin 3 would break 100k to be honest, I bought the game thinking I'd be one of very few to buy it, but I was wrong.

And it hit number one at that. But then again it's the first quality Wii U exclusive to come out FOR MONTHS.

Really glad Dragon's Crown and Tales of Xillia got good sales. I gave a salut to Vanillaware / Atlus. And this way, Namdai will satisfied and bring more Tales to the west aside of Symphonia HD & Xillia 2. Maybe they can localize Tales of Destiny remake and Destiny 2 from PS2.

If anything I'd expect the PS3 and Xbox 360 to start losing sales! With their next gen offerings on the horizon.

Looking at the fact that theres a $200 PS3 on the market now, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the PS3 starts outselling the Xbox 360 in the US.

Also it's good that WII U is getting a boost! Now Nintendo needs to sustain it! By continual software support.

has sold 3,600,000+ units,
has a triple A release (Among other titles) every month until the holiday,
Has a top selling piece of software with Pikmin 3 with more to come,
and has had an increase in sales this month.
So dead.

The Wii U lives! it may be in a small shack w no heat, air or indoor plumbing and have a leaky roof... but for now- but it does live.

a price drop and some more quality games may even give its hoe a facelift- of course if Nintendo used some of its $5+ billion in cash to see to it that great 3rd party sellers like GTA 5 and a few others would show up on the wii u at thee same time as other platformers it would help- Imagine if GTA was coming o the Wii U- it would be able to advertise the only next gen version of the game or at least first next gen version of the game

I think Pikmin 3 has proved that the Wii U doesn't need to be revised, at least not in the way people want it. It doesn't need to ditch the Gamepad. It doesn't need a name-change and it doesn't need to be cut and replaced by a more powerful system. No, it doesn't need any of that.

All it needs - and this has always been the case - is games. Pikmin 3 is the start of a tsunami.

This is a pretty good start. As I said before Pikmin is the start of there good games but should have been the game they started with. Also a sleeper game that looks fun is Wii party U. My office has videogame days so I would love to bring that game in.
