Face Noir Review [Capsule Computers]

Author Joshua Moris of Capsule Computers writes:

"Mad Orange has been hiding in the Italy based developer market and has started their franchise with the launch of a point-and-click adventure called Face Noir. By collaborating with developer and publisher Phoenix Online Studios, Mad Orange has localized the title’s content to broaden their potential marketing nearly a year after its German debut. While Face Noir II is currently in the works, Mad Orange is pleased to reach out to newer players of their first indie title."

Looks interesting enough, Point and clicks making a comeback over the years.

I am halfway through and it is a decent point n click adventure. I welcome a nice adventure every now and then.

There are 2 genres I play on PC: Point n Click Adventures and Strategy / and business simulation games like Anno, Port Royale or the Patrician. And yeah, I love Warcraft 3.

Diehard GameFAN: Face Noir Review

DHGF: Face Noir is a pretty typical adventure title. It focuses on story over gameplay, is full of fetch quests, and has zero replay value. That being said, it has fun puzzles, interesting characters, and a setting that never seems to get old. I could easily recommend it to genre fans but for one thing. You see, this is the first half of a completed story, and it ends as such. There’s no closure to be had. While it might simply whet your appetite for the forthcoming sequel, it will more than likely just come off as cheap and annoying. If you dig the concept, you’re better off just waiting until you can play through the whole story in one go.

Face Noir Launches on Steam & Desura

Mad Orange and Phoenix Online Studios have brought their murder mystery, Face Noir, to the Steam and Desura platforms, available to download now. With a storyline that would be right at home in a Raymond Chandler novel or Humphrey Bogart film, Face Noir puts players in the well-worn shoes of a private detective falsely accused of murder.
