Review: Punch-Out!! Wii U Virtual Console

Until July 2013 Nintendo is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Famicom by releasing "classic" titles for the new Wii U Virtual Console. As an added bonus, you can get these games for 30 cents during the first 30 days of each title's release. This month's release is F-Zero. Is it worth two bits and a buffalo nickel? Find out as wiiuonly's "King of Video Games" focuses the Eye of the Tiger.

This is supremely dumb. What makes the difference between the Wii VC and the WiiU VC when it's the SAME GAME??? Why would there be a difference?

IcicleTrepan4087d ago

The only diff I can think of is that wii was not 1080p and wii u is, but for something like this I can't imagine it making much if any difference.

It comes with off screen play, and includes the virtual console menu, allowing you to create restore points in the game. The new version also creates integration with MiiVerse, allowing you to pause the game, comment and show screenshots. Same game, updated features for WiiU. And at 30 cents, a no-brainer upgrade.

ziggurcat4087d ago

it's dumb if you already have the wii VC version... if you don't have the game, then why not get the wii U VC version?

DA_SHREDDER4087d ago

No wiiU features are available using the Wii Shop channel. No friends list, no video chat, nothing. so ya, for a couple more bucks its worth it for me. Oh wait, no I don't have to pay extra. I actually waited for the WiiHD ever since I first realized that the Wii wasn't a good nintendo machine. The virtual console controller sucked, and the Gamecube game pad wasn't that good either. So I just waited for Nintendo to evolve into the product we have today. I love my WiiU. And I cant wait for the summer update.

6 Franchises Nintendo Needs to Resurrect on Switch

The Punished Backlog's David Silbert writes:

"Nintendo is widely known for its deep, eclectic well of beloved franchises. From The Legend of Zelda to Wrecking Crew, there’s no library in gaming as rich in history or as popular among fans.

2019 is shaping up to be a banner year for Nintendo, with representatives from Mario, Fire Emblem, Zelda, and Pokémon all gracing the Switch platform before the year’s end. At the same time, there are still plenty of Nintendo franchises that lie dormant this generation, in desperate need of the “Switch treatment.”

While there are plenty of legendary series worthy of a revival, here are six in particular I would absolutely kill to see on Switch in the near future."

A new Golden Sun and Mother would be great, but I wish I wasn't the only one that wants a new StarTropics.
