Let's cut the crap right off the bat. Call of Duty 2 was an amazing launch game for Xbox 360, and if you're reading this article then you're already familiar with where the series came from, what it did for the launch of 360 just a year ago, and how amazing the franchise has evolved over the years. We don't need to waste your time explaining what the franchise is all about. If you aren't familiar with the world of Call of Duty, click here before continuing. For everyone else, let's get down to business…
Backward compatibility works for many games on newer consoles, but titles such as The Simpsons: Hit and Run have been left out.
From base building to swinging willies, here are the best survival games around, which include a couple of less than obvious picks.
It turns out that many moons ago, Microsoft once had its eye on the Sony published LittleBigPlanet series.
Microsoft in a nutshell. Always tried to poach Sony employees, games, 3rd party games and devices like the depth camera that was turned into Kinect but was running on PS2 before Xbox 360. Wouldn't be surprised they wanted LBP. Just like they worked behind the scenes pushing the MLB to bring Sony's baseball game to Xbox instead of making their own.

They didn't spend years trying to develop their own baseball game. They wanted Sony's game.
They're scum.
"However, Healey said Media Molecule wouldn't have felt right doing that, adding it would have been "morally corrupt"."
Major kudos to Media Molecule for being an upright studio with principles.
Great, more stories like this please. Show the last of the zombies holding the line what we've been saying for years: Microsoft is anti competition, anti industry and has no interest in making games at all.
But hey, at least there's an Xbox Games Showcase to look forward to, right?
Well considering SONY just killed the series, LBP would've been dead by now either way. Though MM probably wouldn't exist by now either, so I'm glad they stayed with SONY, hopefully they don't get shut down any time soon or ever honestly.
"The big news with COD3's multiplayer is that it's now class-based and features vehicles, Battlefield style. There are a number of classes available, from light and heavy infantry to sniper, antitank, and medic. This merely affects your initial weapons loadout, since you can pick up other players' weapons when they die to change it up. Each class has some special abilities, as well. As the sniper, we were able to sight in the enemy's flag base with our binoculars to call in an artillery strike--and then we died laughing when the kill list lit up with the name of nearly every member of the other team. "
A titbit about the class system from Gamespot.

and dammm i can't WAIT for the PS3!! ahhh
" As another quick gameplay note, the PS3 version was making basic use of the tilt functionality, having players melee attack by snapping their right hand forward in a elbowing motion. Team representatives said that PS3 tilt functionality would be improved in the final months before release, adding in the ability to lean around cover by simply tilting the controller from right to left, something that the Wii version is also currently making use of. "
jeez gaming is going to be such a better experience! and i'm also wondering if this 1st gen title will look just like 360's 2nd gens??? hmmm... i hate fanboyism, but this article is an advantage to ps3.
Can you participate in same game with PS3 / Wii / Xbox360? I hope so.
Call of Duty 3 is coming out on the xbox 360 and playstation 3, as well as the xbox 1 and i think its coming out on the PS2.
'a somewhat reluctant demonstration of the PS3 code bring us back to present-day battles with a jolt.with a painful framerate and only rudimentary lighting and shaders in place, the game looks cold and flat next to the gritty bombast of it's 360 counterpart, and far from ready for a november launch.
It's clear that it will be a race to the wire, in uncharted territory, to get it to match the 360's performance'
