Sega aren’t keeping 3D Space Harrier in Japan. The Nintendo 3DS remake has been rated for release in Australia.
"Sega has been re-releasing some of their classics like Space Harrier and Ecco the Dolphin for Nintendo 3DS with added and whistles. The 3D Ages titles have been upgraded with stereoscopic 3D visuals and occasionally gyroscopic control that let players simulate sitting in an arcade cabinet. All of these enhanced 3D Classics are available on the eShop and Sinobi reports six of them will be bundled onto a cartridge inJapan.
Sega 3D Reprint Archives includes Space Harrier, Fantasy Zone OpaOpa Brothers, Outrun, Streets of Rage, Shinobi III, and Ecco the Dolphin for 3,980 yen, which is about the same price as buying all six games separately. The compilation is slated for release on December 18."
PixlBit | "Oh, Space Harrier, how should I describe you? Should I compare thee to an endless runner? Thou art more lovely and insane. Rough controls do tire the limbs of any gamer, and this title’s fun supply is far too short. But the eternal summer of my nostalgia for this game shall never fade, nor will the death of the ‘80s cast shadows upon its uniqueness.

Pure Nintendo: "Playing Space Harrier puts me in an almost Jedi like state, where I can do split second reactions without thinking. It’s an amazing sensation that all gamers should experience! This 3DS version is a great way to do just that. It’s a truly impressive port of the classic, and M2 deserves commendation for what they’ve done with it. I can’t wait to try the other 3D classics – if they’re anything like Space Harrier, SEGA will have many happy fans!"
