Meh. I couldn't care about this generic looking FPS game. Is it really going to live up to the experience people have already had with the Telltale series?

TrendyGamers4148d ago

I highly doubt it will be as good as Telltale's series, but it could work as a fun zombie killing FPS.

Welshy4148d ago

But their are other "fun, zombie killing FPS" games out there, that's the main problem, there is more to The Walking Dead than that, the comics, TV show and TellTale games respectively all had multiple episodes where zombies would barely be their at all.

The Walking Deads strength is that it's difference and shows an overrun world from a human view and is more "realistic".

A L4D/Dead Rising style zombie killer FPS completely nullifies the reason The Walking Dead is so good and would literally only serve as a name on a box to drag a quick buck in.

SuicidalTendencies4148d ago

I hate interactive stories(I refuse to call them games) but gave Telltale's Walking Dead a try when all the episodes were on sale for $10. It wasn't bad but I would take actual gameplay any day of the week. I also disliked the lack of real choices.

There are better Zombie FPS out there but if TWD: Survival Instinct adds some actual survival gameplay it could be a good game. Worth giving a shot at least.

@TheFaceless

George Romero did it first in his Zombie movies. Seems to me they ripped off Romero and just replaces Zombie with "walkers".

Pintheshadows4147d ago

Romero never explored the social aspect and emotional impact with the same depth TWD does.

TrendyGamers4148d ago (Edited 4148d ago )

Not a bad box art, though I would have liked at least one zombie on it.

PopRocks3594148d ago

I doubt this will come close to Telltale's adaptation, but hey, this might be more or less following the show rather than the comic and it COULD be fun. I've always enjoyed the zombies mode in Call of Duty, so maybe this can match (or even surpass it) in terms of fun.

EddieNX 4148d ago

This ^.

Zombies is one of the best things about Blops 2 so maybe this game will be a winner!

Riderz13374148d ago

Sorry but it uses the Call of Duty engine. It can't be that much of an improvement of what we have already seen.
