Not much news were heard for Mabinogi II: Arena recently after G-Star 2012. According to the news from MMO Culture, the game is back in development, and the team has finally got its own name, N Square. This name comes from the fact that Mabinogi II: Arena is a co-op effort by both NCsoft and Nexon, using the dual "N" as the main catalyst.
The past six months have been tough for some Chinese gamers—with cancellations, misunderstandings, and shaky rumors leading to bitter disappointment.
Nexon announced last week that they had ceased the development of Mabinogi 2: Arena and transferred the dev team to other projects. Fans of Mabinogi series won't be able to see the new Mabinogi MMO soon but Nexon promised that this was not the end of the series. The franchise will be revived in new form, the Korean developer and publisher said recently.
First announced at G-Star 2012, it has been announced that Nsquare will be stopping development on Mabinogi II: Arena. Nsquare is the joint team formed after Nexon bought over NCsoft, and the team will now move on to other new projects.
