GamingUnwrapped's Jake T. writes - "I think this year has done a lot of things for me. Not only did it show me that downloadable titles can stand up to even the biggest of AAA software, but it also showed me that I should never judge a book by it’s cover. As cliche as that sounds in any usage, it applies really well to some of the game’s that I’ve spent time with this year."
Huzaifah from eXputer: "Sleeping Dogs from the early 2010s is one of the best open-world games out there but in dire need of a resurgence."
You say "yet" as if it's even possible anymore. United Front Games is gone, along with anyone that made this game what it is
That’s what happens when games sell poorly. And I’ve seen people wonder why people cry when a game sells badly… this is your answer.
Sleeping Dogs was a sleeper hit back then. It was fantastic. It actually still is. Would love a sequel to this, or at least a revive of True Crime series.
Trevor Walker said: Fighting games have always been able to simultaneously experiment and innovate while staying true to their roots in the best of ways. Mechanics change, crossovers take place, and evolution occurs. One of the best examples of all three can be seen in the coveted guest character.
The past few years have seen some excellent open-world titles on top of the existing classics. Here are some of the very best that you should play.
watching the video is better then going through 31 pages of gamingbolt.
Do they explain in the video why there are two numbers 3? Starfield and Tears of the Kingdom?

Braid, Limbo, PixelJunk Monsters, PixelJunk Shooter 1 & 2, Outland, Super Meat Boy, PixelJunk Eden, Journey, Bastion, Stacking, Legend of Grimrock, Castle Crashers... We've all known this for awhile.
Dishonered, I knew id like it, but not as much as I did
Sleeping Dogs has to be the most surprising as I don't think anyone really thought it was going to be good up until about a month out from release.
Dishonored to me while great pretty much was being assumed to be great.
X-com is also a sneaky one this year as I think many people didn't think a turn based game could be relevant again but it proved to be worthy of play.
I agree with @Wigriff that Downloadable titles really did shine this year on a level we haven't really seen before. Digital download games provided high quality experiences and Walking Dead certainly is going to be one game that gets lots of attention in GOTY discussions.
My personal standout game this year is Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. Right up there with my other favourite, Borderlands 2.
... what about SpecOps:TheLine?
