Veteran players are likely familiar with many of the protagonists featured in this week’s new releases. From the return of gaming’s original space marine in Doom 3 BFG Edition to a visit from everyone’s favorite Gatling-gun toting protagonist- Serious Sam, recognizable faces abound. Hell, even Pyramid Head’s geometrical dome is likely to evoke memories for Silent Hill: Book of Memories' fans.
Gary Green said: We have a juxtaposition of 2D and 3D visuals, flashy turn-based combat, quirky anime characters with cheeky dialogue with plenty of partial nudity; Yes, this is a Compile Heart JRPG. Whilst the engine is borrowed from Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2, Mugen Souls is more of a Disgaea spin-off. It’s not a strategy RPG as such, it merely sits within Disgaea’s ever-expanding universe (Multiverse? Netherverse? Your guess is as good as mine). You won’t find cameos though, since Mugen Souls is a franchise which aims to stand on its own two feet.
The sirens are sounding again, beckoning you back to the foggy ghost town as we rank all the Silent Hill games, from the chilling classics to the misguided missteps.
I mostly disagree with Downpour's position. Yeah, the game is not amazing by any stretch of the imagination but is much better than the HD Collection and Homecoming. The main issue is the performance, but that was mitigated by the patches, especially on the PS3. Personally, I put it a little behind Origins and The Room.
Having Restless Dreams as a different entry from Silent Hill 2 is also a choice.
silent hill 2 is definitely the best one out of those.
for me personally, the whole ritual/cult stuff was always so weird to me in all the other games.
No disrespect but I put SH2 over 1. 1 is fantastic, but 2 took it all up a level.
EastAsiaSoft brings Mugen Souls to the Nintendo Switch. This turn-based JRPG follows the traditional JRPG model of taking a party out into the wild.
Make mine Mugen Souls.
I hear Silent Hill: Book of Memories was actually pretty good, unlike the last 3 Silent Hill titles. Of course, it's not really survival horror but a Gauntlet-style game.
Doom 3 BFG Edition on PC. I'd like to save $10, have a better control scheme and a faster framerate.
HAHA, people hating on Mugen.
I like a James Bond game once in a while, but they always drop in price so quick. I'll pick up 007 Legends when it hits $20 or less.
I know it released a few days ago but people should really look into Code of Princess. I had my doubts about it simply because of the name but after watching some gameplay and then buying it, I would have to say the game was well worth the price and even got the art book along with the CD. A Beat-em up on the 3DS with some online I think I found another game that will last me a while.
