I'm so excited for this game. I can't wait to buy this

Yodagamer4227d ago

Same here, i'm absolutely happy that they decided to remake it instead doing a ps2 classic on psn.

JadedXGamer4227d ago

-Killzone (Good)

-Killzone: Liberation (Very good)

-Killzone 2 (Great)

-Killzone 3 (Absolute trash that literally destroyed the franchise)

r214227d ago

SP wise for KZ3, it was better with good VA and pacing IMO but in terms of difficulty, KZ2 wins and obviously to most and or some, KZ2 wins in MP.

PirateThom4227d ago

Killzone 3 had a really good single player. I loved the gameplay and the story with Stahl was pretty cool, that whole angle was cool.

The multiplayer was a disaster though. Killzone 2 is my most played MP ever, while Killzone 3 was barely touched.

TheFirstClassic4227d ago

I think Killzone 3 really improved online through patches if its been a long time since you played. The gunplay feels better than when it first came out, and you can now revive people from farther away and you can see how close medics are when you are down. A few tweaks here and there go a long way, I didn't like the mp when it came out but I tried it several months later and found it to my liking.

Very usefull info on the comment section:

Question:

"Will there be a demo for this?

Also, I really liked KZ2 but was hugely disappointed with KZ3. It looked great but the story was terrible and a lot of the characterization was poorly done. You changed the characters, Sev was cool in KZ2, flat and cornball in KZ3. That speech he made made me wish I wasn’t playing as him. Narville went from a badass to a bumbling wishy washy new age guy. A lot of the writing was just bad and the ending was atrocious. What happened?

There is a reason KZ2 is 91 on Metacritic and KZ3 is 84. KZ2 is the better game. I am worried you guys have hired Crysis 2′s writers for the next installment. The writing in Crysis 2 was also terrible. Please hire some good writers. Make a strong, compelling war story that includes the brutality of war and toll on civilians and has deep characters. No corny speeches. Don’t use ham actors like Malcolm MacDowell or whoever voiced that awful character Jammer. Listen to your fans. There were a lot of good suggestions and criticisms on the forums that were brushed off by MotherH and the series stumbled as a result."

__________

Response:

"We do not have a demo planned for Killzone HD. With regards to the rest of your comment, we’re aware that the Killzone 3 story didn’t meet expectations for some fans, and we’re taking it into account for future titles. We very much appreciate the feedback you guys have for us, even if we can’t always reply. :)"

Killzone series is boss! Just finished kz1 on my 60g ps3! very visceral game! I really could see that gg were trying to squeeze a lot out of the ps2!

Why Guerrilla Games stubbornly built its amazing game engine from scratch

Guerrilla Games couldn't have made iconic games like Horizon Zero Dawn and Killzone without its remarkable engine.

Two things, really great read and again this reiterates how things should be done! I love that HZD came out of a company wide idea contest. Also Guerrilla was allowed to go other routes. You can't get further apart than going from a FPS to an open world action RPG, yet they did and won both critics and fans over.

So it's pretty obvious with examples as HZD and GOW if devs are allowed creative freedom it can pay off handsomely if you put the games quality and the creative process first! I wish other companies that have the capital would allow their devs similar avenues of success.

ps3vita4life1924d ago

I know right! You would think this wasn’t GG’s first third-person action- RPG based on how good HZD was! Having creative freedom and passion for the games you are creating really brings out the best in game studios.

Hardiman1924d ago

Very, very true and the other big companies should look at that as the avenue in taking established IP's to the next level or allowing devs to chase those creative desires.

HZD's world is not only large, varied and gorgeous but it's teeming with humans, robotic creatures and wildlife. The level of detail in it is astonishing! That's not to mention the combat. I've never enjoyed bow combat more and the narrative was so well done. I loved finding out what happened in that world.

darthv721924d ago

I love it when a dev goes out of their comfort zone and does something different. It only adds to their repertoire and shows how versatile they really are.

kayoss1924d ago

Unfortunately a lot of good smaller companies rely on bigger companies to help fund their project. Therefore some of their creative ideas are replaced with ideas that will make the bigger companies more money. Sometime due to this, these smaller companies do not get the chance to show case their potential and end up shutting down. There are only a handful of big companies that will allow smaller companies that they own the creative freedom with zero to very little interference.

sKiiTs81924d ago

Yeah I'd really love if Ubisoft and other big companies had this kind of freedom. how could anyone be keen for the new far cry / assassins creed when they're essentially the same thing every year??

starchild1924d ago

Because they're not. Assassin's Creed has evolved as much as any series I've played. To me they've only gotten better over time. AC Origins and AC Odyssey are two of my favorite games of the generation.

Beyond that, not everybody is going to play every game in a series. So the changes could actually be quite dramatic between one game and another a few years later.

DerekTweed1924d ago

Assassins creed Origins and Odyssey are very different from previous games.

There will be no Assassins Creed game in 2019 as far as I know.

It's like you're just spouting the common tropes on N4G without knowing a thing you are talking about.

bluefox7551923d ago

@derek Assassins creed Origins and Odyssey are very different from previous games.

Not really, lol. The core mechanics are still pretty much the same as the beginning.

Bleucrunch1923d ago

Who the hell would disagree with your statement? You are SPOT on @Hardiman with your post. There is no excuse for low effort and worse low effort games. The publisher are at fault for rushing the developers....Folks now know why SONY IS THE BEST with their developers....talk about support.

This is why SONY is the MOST EFFICIENT Publisher....PERIOD.

Hardiman1923d ago

It drives me crazy! I've never seen people so dead set against allowing devs to be creative because for whatever reason their company of choice doesn't do it. Seeing people defend companies like EA, Activision, M$ etc for either bad practices, driving IP's into the ground or just not offering compelling content boggles my mind.

I can't think of another industry where creativity and quality are ignored or belittled. I'm an artist and I think it's great they have faith in these developers because they've earned it and let them try new things. It'd be different if they weren't successful but they are and they are in an elite class as far as quality is concerned.

There's nothing wrong with making money! We all want more money but there's something wrong with just sterile cash grabs and that's what gets me. I understand smaller devs who don't have the capital to think outside the box but in most cases they do I think more than these massive companies.

kevnb1924d ago

If you have the money and resources its certainly the best way to go.

ps3vita4life1924d ago

I’m so glad they did, the visuals in this game, especially the detail and variety in the gorgeous environments (snow, jungle, desert, etc.) and the machines looked unbelievable. It also felt incredibly smooth while playing. Kudos on a job well done GG

badz1491924d ago

IMO the open world is the best looking out there. on consoles at least. RDR2 with all its incredible level of details isn't a match for HZD when it comes to graphics

ps3vita4life1924d ago

I agree! RDR2 looks incredible but HZD is mouth-watering. When I roamed the world, I often got lost in it, just admiring the view and wondering.....wow, is this how far games have truly come? I can’t imagine the sequel on PS5!!

starchild1924d ago

They both do certain things better than the other. Both of them look incredible.

DerekTweed1924d ago (Edited 1924d ago )

I'm not trying to start a war or anything but RDR2 on my One X looked better than HZD on my Pro.

_FantasmA_1924d ago

I'm glad they decided to go in a new direction. A new Killzone would have been good but even the best 10/10 games get stale with too many games in series or if they come out too frequently. HZD is my favorite PS4 game and I trust that GG can start from scratch with a new game after this. As much as I love HZD, I would love to see them go in a new direction again because they've shown they can do it.

Gamist2dot01924d ago

"The search for a new engine was rigorous. It led them to Decima – Guerrilla named the previously nameless engine in honor of the partnership, picking a name that referred to the Japanese island of Dejima, once the focal point of Dutch trade relations with the Japanese."

WWWWhhattt... that's interesting.

starchild1924d ago

Yeah, I never knew that. Pretty neat.

GG on Creating Horizon's Iconic Aloy and Keeping a Really High Level of Ambition for Quality's Sake

Guerrilla Games talked about the challenges in making an iconic lead character like Aloy in their open world action RPG, Horizon: Zero Dawn.

The Narrative Writer also praised the developer's ability to have a high level of ambition to create a quality product.

Festano2601d ago

I love Aloy's imperfections, she's still cute and a lot more believable than your average female protagonist.

fromchildren2601d ago (Edited 2601d ago )

She is ugly, even Ellie(The Last of Us) is cuter in comparison but both are ugly.
Even some side characters look better.

morganfell2601d ago

Well they were smart enough to think about her human qualities before they catered to schoolboy fantasies.

Know how I avoid shallow crappy TV shows and movies? When I see a poster for the the production and the people all look like models.

Crap.

Or they are models putting on glasses and then pretending to be nerds. And inevitably those flashy model shows are cancelled halfway through the season.

GTgamer2601d ago

@morganfell you basically targeted all of CW's shows but I'm with you on that stance.

UCForce2601d ago

Well, that's just your opinion.

UCForce2601d ago

I'm glad GG took time to develop Aloy in first place.

KaiPow2601d ago

Their dedication to quality really shows. Horizon turned out to be everything I wished FC Primal could've been!

Phil322601d ago

It's amazing how GG went from Killzone to this. I'm excited to get the game from the library next week!

Alexious2601d ago

True, though Killzone was always a bit underrated. I liked both Killzone 2 and Shadow Fall.

2601d ago
Chris_Wray2601d ago

I can't praise Guerilla enough over Horizon. Aloy is a fantastic character, and actually more realistic than 99% of all other characters in gaming history. She has real motivations, makes realistic decisions and has a driving reason for heading out alone as she does. The world is also fantastically detailed with a rich lore and history.

Pintheshadows2601d ago

I don't think it's just Aloy either. Sylens is such a great character that fits so well in this world.

Im so hyped for this game and i cant wait to play it. Looks so amazing

VforVideogames2647d ago (Edited 2647d ago )

cross your finger so it doesn't go the no man sky or last guardian way
I just don't want to be disappointed again.

ILostMyMind2647d ago (Edited 2647d ago )

@VforVideogames
What is the problem with TLG? Do not you have one?

UCForce2647d ago

@VforVideogames The Last Guardian is a successful game. See the difference.

freshslicepizza2647d ago

digital foundry will be all over this and we can then read for ourselves and what the differences are between the pro and regular ps4.

game4funz2646d ago (Edited 2646d ago )

Agreed. I don't think there will be significant differences but I am curious to see if the trend will continue of the standard performing worse then pro... in terms of fps.

Whats up with the disagrees?? Do people not want to see?

UCForce2647d ago

It's good to hear that GG is able to fixed the game right on time.

UnHoly_One2647d ago

I don't understand what that is supposed to mean.

pody2647d ago

That's where he's going obviously.

UnHoly_One2647d ago

So is that a negative comment?

The general assumption is that everything in Hell is unpleasant, so therefore this game would be akin to torture for him?

I just don't understand. Maybe I'm too old.

one2thr2647d ago

His profile pic is "Spawn"....

UnHoly_One2647d ago (Edited 2647d ago )

That means nothing to me. I hate comic book superheroes and know literally nothing about them except that Superman hates green rocks and Batman is rich.

one2thr2646d ago

Google is readily available....

Neonridr2647d ago

definitely good to hear. 4 weeks to go..

Gamist2dot02647d ago

That's good. When Bloodborne had it's frame rate issues, did it bother me? Hell no!

MasterCornholio2647d ago

Bloodborne has a framepacing issue. However that didn't really bother me. The Witcher 3 however had some pretty bad for framerate issues until they patched it. The bog was pretty horrible. I doubt that Horizon will have those types of framerate issues

uth112647d ago

I only encountered framerate issues in a few areas in Bloodborne. DS3 was a lot worse.

Sparta072647d ago

Great to hear!!!
Won't stop the haters from spreading their lies.
