Brain Training 'clearly discriminates' against Northerners

Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training has come under fire on BBC Watchdog program for failing to recognise accents from the North. And you just thought it was 'grim up north'...

Deemed important enough to take up a five-minute slot on Monday night's show, Nintendo and its DS game, Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training, were under the spotlight of presenter Nicky Campbell.

Boo-fukin'-hoo. "OH NOEZ, it doesn't understand me!"

SilPho5959d ago

Next thing you know they'll start complaining that it doesn't understand strong foreign accents. Maybe they'll even complain it doesn't understand Latin or something...

Voice recognition has never been great, even Vista which is using it as a selling point doesn't get it right all the time.

Bad Editing
When copying text from the source article make sure you read over the text and edit it if necessary. A good example is when a site writes "We" or "I" , as this should then be replaced with the site's or person's name, or you can quote the source

If Nintendo rolled out VC two years ago like they should have, there would probably be DS and 3DS games on the Switch by now. But yeah, I think DS and 3DS are something they should do.

It would be nice to see both Bravely titles on the Switch.

What an interesting article. I played brain training a few times when it first came out, and I actually liked it a lot, despite the fact that it was basically the same kind of stuff that I was doing (and hating) at school.
And wow, 9 people worked on it and it only took 3 months? Then it went on to sell 19 million copies! That's just incredible! It must have had a massive profit margin.

I love these kinds of games, not sure how accurate they are but its usually a lot of fun for a little while.
