So doesnt this sort of screw over the people who bought the original one?

MattyG4251d ago

If that's what you think then I'm guessing you think every GOTY edition screws people over?

sdtarm4251d ago

as long as i know the extra content is not being offered as DLC so we or I at least think I got screwed

Allsystemgamer4251d ago

In what possible way does it screw over the people who originally bought it?

rataranian4251d ago

Well you bought the game at $60 when it came out. Then they re release the game with added content. So either you re buy the game or dl the content at an extra price. meaning youre paying more money when you could have just waited and your $60 would have gotten you a lot more. I'm just wondering how people feel about that. Maybe they dont give a shit who knows?

MattyG4251d ago (Edited 4251d ago )

@rataranian But nobody is holding a gun to your head demanding that you buy the game on release day. And DLC is EXTRA content. So you either pay more and have the game to play for about a year (and spend whatever the DLC costs) OR you can wait a year, year and half, and get it cheaper. It's more of a battle of patience than anything else when it comes to DLC and GOTY editions.

@rata

I bought the ps3 version day 1.

Just got the pc version.

So far ive spent over $110 on dark souls and don't feel ripped off at all.

flyingmunky4251d ago

I got well over 100 hours into the original content. I only paid 60 for the collectors edition, so it was well worth it. I'll just buy the dlc on psn for the 10-15 dollars.

Awesome_Gamer4250d ago

The original already so much content in it and i spent well over 150+ hours playing it, and i still do to this day, spending 10-15 bucks on it for extra 10 hours is well worth it (for me at least)

Didn't FROM say last year around this time that there wouldn't be DLC? Looks like nobody is immune to... *shudders* the DLC virus.

Qrphe4251d ago

Yes they said they would not release any DLC but we begged and begged so they released some.

This is the only DLC I'm buying this year lol

madjedi4251d ago

@Qrphe Actually i remember people begging for demons souls 6th world stone(land of the giants?) to be released as dlc/patch. Not sure about dark souls's dlc.

clevernickname4251d ago (Edited 4251d ago )

This is why I rarely buy new games. Game studios have trained me to expect a better, more complete version of the game a few months later at half to a quarter of the original price.

I bought the complete edition of Red Dead Redemption for $19 eight months after the game was launched. Yes, I had to wait eight months, but I saved over $60. And I have a backlog of games to play so I am never without anything to play.

Of course, some games never release "complete" or DLC included editions, but I still don't buy them on the release date.

Dark Souls is such a great great game and was large and rich with content , and now its even bigger . Man this is going to be a good winter break.

Yer and it was awful (the port not the game).

luckytrouble611d ago

Still use it as my go to on Steam, but I will never make the mistake of booting it up without mods ever again.

MadLad610d ago (Edited 610d ago )

And it was garbage.
Luckily it was easily fixed by a modder who actually wanted a good product to be sold to people.
