All Stars is an awesome title. Just as a wrestling game should be, over the top & ridiculous. It would be awesome if they made a sequel & they should do one.

Fact is though, UFC has taken over now, & there UFC games are one of the best sports series going around in videogames.
The SvR is really old & stale now, & has not evolved in gameplay since the 1st few PS2 releases.
There very much like the Tony Hawk series that just failed to evolve & got left for dead by Skate.

I think they should make a sequel or at the very least let another developer make it. I liked the arcade style of all stars and there is definite room for improvement...too bad that this generation of gamers has been funneled down to simulation type gaming...

Arcade style games are turning up in digital download format where they tend to get lost in the shuffle. Nba jam, or nfl blitz anyone??

All-Stars was the only great wrestling game this gen, and the only great WWE game in even longer.

All the game needed were more game modes - more options, variety. It felt bare-bones.

What he says is a lame excuse. Criterion hammered out Burnout games year by year on PS2 & they went well.
To say you can't build upon an arcade brawler, or wrestling game is ridiclous.....I mean, they could add in totally O.T.T. moves akin to the 1st couple of Def Jams on PS2, as well as add in Mortal Kombat finishers where necks are snapped & blood flys around.
There's more you can do with arcade type games, than simulation style wrestlers & fighters, as sims have to stick to being realistic & are governed in move sets & such for certain fighters, as well as enviroments.

I would love a heavily arcade influenced boxing game to be made. Something highly arcade stylized, but at the same time with some depth to the gameplay, as I do love me some Fight Night, but it would be nice to have a contrasting game that allows for anyone to be able to pick it up & play it.
A boxing game foremost, but also a high quality MMA arcade type game would be great.

WCW/NWO World Tour and Wrestlemania 2000 were peak wrestling games. Back when wrestling was at the top of pop culture, everyone in school would watch. The gameplay is phenomenal and create your own characters opened up the door to WCW vs WWF. What a time!

nevin1713d ago

WCW/ NWO Revenge and Here Comes The Pain were haven't been beaten.

I was always partial to the arcade wrestling games like Saturday night slam masters, wwf superstars, wrestlefest, wrestlemania, wrestle war and then a NES classic... pro wrestling. By the time the N64 era of wrestling games happened, I wasnt into wrestling much anymore (tv & games).

It was all about the Starman Somersault or the Tiger Claw!

Fist4achin844d ago

Starman was awesome. I also remember a tan dude with bright yellow hair. Good times!

Virtual Pro Wrestling 1 & 2 > Most games on that list.

Also, WCW/NWO Revenge should be #2 minimum.
