GDN: When I was given the opportunity to review World of Battles, I went in with a negative attitude, thinking the game was just another fantasy RTS to throw into an already crowded genre. After my walkthrough of the game by the Frogware development team, I came away with a new positive outlook about this game.
World of Battles: Morningstar is a tactical RTS game in the vein of the Total War series. You assemble an army to do battle with other well worn fantasy tropes.
Can it compete with Total War: Shogun 2? Nope.
World of Battles is an RTS developed by Frogwares. The game itself has a lot of potential, as any decent RTS would. The graphics are impressive too. However, the game is somewhat boring with it's slow battle progression, and the mission system is almost broken. It's Free To Play, what can you say? It would be a good weekend game, but currently needs to patches to help fix lingering issues.
World of Battles: Morningstar has released a new gameplay trailer, with the new trailer showing us some intense PVP. In addition to this trailer, World of Battles is also running a bonus experience event all weekend.
