2008 is set to be a great year for the PlayStation 3 and PSP. The PlayStation 2 even has a few more big titles up its sleeve. The second full year of the PlayStation 3's lifespan should be a huge one, as developers are really starting to nail down what the system is capable of and a huge number of exclusive and major cross-platform titles are set to hit stores this year. With games like Metal Gear Solid 4, Devil May Cry 4, Grand Theft Auto IV, Resistance 2 and much, much more promising release this year, PlayStation gamers have a lot to look forward to.
The list of IGN's predictions (details are available on the ninth page of the article):
- Sony Will Go on a Buying Spree.
- The PlayStation Store Will See a Major Overhaul.
- PlayStation Packaging or Price Changes.
- Home Doesn't Take Off.
- Sony's Lineup Dominates This Year's Holiday Season.
It turns out that many moons ago, Microsoft once had its eye on the Sony published LittleBigPlanet series.
Microsoft in a nutshell. Always tried to poach Sony employees, games, 3rd party games and devices like the depth camera that was turned into Kinect but was running on PS2 before Xbox 360. Wouldn't be surprised they wanted LBP. Just like they worked behind the scenes pushing the MLB to bring Sony's baseball game to Xbox instead of making their own.

They didn't spend years trying to develop their own baseball game. They wanted Sony's game.
They're scum.
"However, Healey said Media Molecule wouldn't have felt right doing that, adding it would have been "morally corrupt"."
Major kudos to Media Molecule for being an upright studio with principles.
Great, more stories like this please. Show the last of the zombies holding the line what we've been saying for years: Microsoft is anti competition, anti industry and has no interest in making games at all.
But hey, at least there's an Xbox Games Showcase to look forward to, right?
Well considering SONY just killed the series, LBP would've been dead by now either way. Though MM probably wouldn't exist by now either, so I'm glad they stayed with SONY, hopefully they don't get shut down any time soon or ever honestly.
Amazon has announced its gaming lineup for May 2024 and it is one of the better months especially if you are an Amazon Prime subscriber.
I have Amazon Prime hardly ever use it and these games will not make me jump back to Prime.
Only use Prime for discounts on shipping.
Amazon
Games line-up looks Highly Promising.
Yeah if you Never played those games before.
or you just started gaming for the First time in your life it would seem "Promising "
Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."
Just about every year in the 7th generation was great and something we most likely won't experience again.
2009 for example had Assassin's Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age: Origins, Uncharted 2, Halo 3: ODST, Killzone 2, Borderlands, Bayonetta, and Demon's Souls to name a few.
bold my friend. Very bold.
Personally I'm really looking forward to Home, it looks really fun and a great medium. I have a feeling it will become big, but only time will tell.
Home. All I want from Sony is XMB ASAP and I will be a content PS3 owner.
wouldn't be surprised if Slant Six gets picked up a few months after they drop SOCOM Confrontation. they've worked with sony closely for awhile now, PSP engine for the Syphon Filter games and now two SOCOM games. pretty sure sony will extend an offer to them at some point.
Can't be argued that Sony has the best-looking line-up for this year. Personally, I could do without Home, but I think it'll be one of those things that I'll use occasionally cause it's free anyways.
"Nintendo has already released a Mario, Metroid and Zelda title for the system, and Smash Bros. will be out relatively soon, leaving its must-have library as old news. Microsoft has a strong lineup, but most of those games are cross-platform. Sony, on the other hand, will have a bevy of killer exclusives hit the system throughout the year, and especially around the holidays.
Resistance 2 is already scheduled for the end of the year, and we expect Killzone 2 to release around the same time. We also expect to hear that Infamous, SOCOM: Confrontation and, hopefully, Gran Turismo 5 will launch around the same time as well. But we don't expect that to be the end: Sony will pull out all the stops and get MotorStorm 2 and God of War III out the door before 2008 is over as well, at least in demo form. And remember, we don't even know about the E3 announcements yet...Nintendo has already released a Mario, Metroid and Zelda title for the system, and Smash Bros. will be out relatively soon, leaving its must-have library as old news. Microsoft has a strong lineup, but most of those games are cross-platform. Sony, on the other hand, will have a bevy of killer exclusives hit the system throughout the year, and especially around the holidays."
I seriously want to by 90% of those games... what are we gonna do!!????!? LOL
