During the live play of Splinter Cell: Blacklist, you may noticed that Sam Fisher sounded different, that's because Michael Ironside is out as voice actor.

so what. they dont want to fook up again lol

FriedGoat4355d ago

square enix just want to destroy all of their strong franchises don't they. "lets destroy hitman and splinter cell by changing the characters"

pixelsword4355d ago

Squeenix sucks, man: it's like since they turned their franchise into a living joke, they want to develop all of the other franchises they didn't have a hand in and take a dump on them too so they can make their games look good or somethin'.

labaronx4355d ago (Edited 4355d ago )

glad im not the only one upset about this

ironsides voice is iconic

@ceedubya...agreed

dont get me wrong i'm interested in the game.... just disappointed ironside wont be in it

ceedubya94355d ago

Ironside IS Sam Fischer. Like how Hamil and Conry are the voices of Joker and Batman. Couldn't imagine how strange it would be if North ever stopped voicing Drake.

Anon19744355d ago

I didn't even notice watching the gameplay footage.

NYC_Gamer4355d ago

Ubisoft might as well change the name of the franchise

sloth33954355d ago

saw the video and its more of an action looking game then a real splinter cell game

OhMyGandhi4355d ago (Edited 4355d ago )

The game play angered me so damned much. Splinter Cell required actual skill to play, there was no "mark and execute", nor was Sam able to scale huge walls in only a matter of seconds, Assassin's Creed style.
There is no need to aim manually anymore, it's just a glorified quick time event with everything, and the A.I. didn't exhibit much in the way of intelligence either.

Sam drops down on top of a guy, and kills him in a loud sloppy manner, and guys who are -looking- at him don't do anything about it.

Jesus. This is not a splinter cell game. Pandora Tomorrow/Chaos Theory style gameplay will never come back, and I hate that realization.

mananimal4355d ago

must be geared towards the casual gamers then. As a core gamer, I will be passing this one up, saving my $$ for Core game experiences as this obviously isnt that, oh well.

allyc4t4355d ago

I now have no reason to buy this game.

ThichQuangDuck4355d ago

Spies vs Mercs is my only true reason otherwise I am worried the game will be too action based rather than stealth. Hoping they maybe just didnt show stealth at the conference to not bore people but ubisoft conference should give a clearer look. Ironside should be doing the voice with motion capture done by johnson but whatever

FarCryLover1824355d ago

He was barely enough reason to buy Conviction :( Conviction was awful...this too.

Sam Fisher is evidently the most skilled stealth operative because no-one has seen him in his own game for years

kevco33259d ago

10 years, in fact. He must be, like, 60 by now?

phoenixwing259d ago (Edited 259d ago )

why make an inspired game that takes effort when you can half ass it with multiplayer gaas games and filler filled assassins creed games?

That question up there is the reason you don't see splinter cell games

zarbor259d ago

Yup, another example that Ubisoft has no idea what they are doing.

MIDGETonSTILTS17259d ago

The entire mark and execute system belonged in another game.

It’s cool, but the polar opposite to how Sam Fisher initially handled.

The original trilogy made shooting very, very difficult, yet a viable option, which ultimately motivates stealth.

The mark/execute system makes shooting stupid easy, to the point of why would you even bother trying stealth as an alternative?

FYouDad259d ago

Because Ghost is the method fans of the series actually prefer? IMark and execute is never forced upon the player you liiterally never have to bother using it even once throughout Blacklist.

Tody_ZA259d ago

The sad part is that I actually really enjoyed the last game, Blacklist. It may have lacked the iconic voice but the gameplay was excellent, and blended stealth, action and a mix really great compared to most games, where none of the three options felt like the wrong way to play. I really hope they either produce a remake of the original game or a proper sequel.

Rikimaru-00259d ago

Isn't UBI Soft remaking splinter cell.

Sam Fisher Deserves Better

Alex S. from Link-Cable writes: "Ubisoft, we need to chat. Please, have a seat. Thanks. Ok, so I think you know why you’re here. No it has nothing to do with all those game delays, we’ll talk about that later. What? No it’s not about the Skulls & Bones and Beyond Good & Evil 2 falling off the face of the Earth, just listen. We need to talk about Splinter Cell. Don’t give me that look, you know this conversation needs to happen. The way you’ve treated the series, its fans and poor Sam Fisher himself is sad, infuriating and just plain disappointing and it needs to stop."

The Fish!!!

I'd love to see a remastered edition of those games as well as something new. It's about time.

UltraNova1499d ago

MGS is done, at least as we know it so it's now or never Ubi, give Fisher the reboot it deserves. And for Gods sake, don't you dare turn Splinter Cell into another Division/Ghost reckon online abomination instead of a SP focused steath action game!

Psychonaut851499d ago

You know they will though. This is Ubisoft we’re talking about

zachyBROosevelt1499d ago (Edited 1499d ago )

I would love a new splinter cell, maybe even a reboot at this point. Sam Fisher deserves it

Profchaos1499d ago

I think reboot the entire franchise the games were great but every time they try to make him human like a father or something it comes of as unbelievable

hiawa231499d ago

They added damn near every SC game to Xbox1X back compat enahnced list. That is a lot of Sam enhanced and I am loving it, but Sam deserves a new next gen game.
