Halo Movie Casting Call - Who Should Play Master Chief, Cortana, Arbiter?

Gamepro writes, "When making a movie based on a pre-established property, you're always going to have disappointed fans. It doesn't matter how loyal you are to the source material, fanboys will always whine and moan about every little detail. The key is to stop caring about those people. While look and, to a lesser extent, voice went into my casting decisions, I also put a heavy focus on acting ability. I'm also a huge fan of the old adage "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", so in my dream Halo movie, I would keep a lot of the fantastic voice actors from the games. But in the spirit of Hollywood, I've thrown in some bigger names that could fit the roles as well. That said, hit the Read link to see my casting choices for the Halo movie."

they use the guy's voice from the game for the movie.

They need to use all unknown people. This movie will make whoever acts in it an overnight sensation. (sort of like the Harry Potter cast) Maybe throw in a few of the Bungie staff. Us gamers would get a kick out of finding the staff through out the film.

besides video game movies are almost always an abomination. There are a few exceptions but very few and I highly doubt this movie will be one of them.

Maybe they can't see your face, but they can still hear you. They still need the right actor to portray the voice and deliver the lines right.

The Chief of Mjolnir5998d ago

Well, I doubt about Steve Downs. (The guy who makes Master Chiefs voice)

It would be fun if Cortana was played by Angelina Joile.

personally I would like them to do what they did for vader....let the guy in the game do the voice and a big fella play master chief in the suit....same thing for the Arbiter<the actor will have some sort of mask on>....

Nearly Half Of Gamers Play Video Games To "Express Themselves," Study Finds

Many players find it easier to express themselves while playing games. Yet, over half of the surveyed gamers still play to relieve stress.

H93h ago

I wonder what place made this study, and it's Fandom, no wonder half of the people said that, I find it hilarious that Fandom of all places did manage to pull more than 50% for the argument of playing games for self expression

Honestly i don't believe this statistic. All we need is an executive to believe it and they'll focus more on how to "express" ourselves over good gameplay and further ruin gaming.

Wolfenstein: The New Order - A Highly Rated FPS That Hasn't Stood the Test of Time

Wolfenstein: The New Order launched 10 years ago today, but can it stand up to the modern FPS titles it inspired?

Seth_hun5h ago

I disagree. Its still a fantastic game, with very good gunplay and a surprisingly loveable cast of characters and a good story trough many different and interesting setpieces

All The New Order needs for my tastes is a this gen enhancement patch.

I played New Order a couple of years after launch and I give it an 8/10. The shooter holds up because it is focused on being a good shooter. There is no crafting, no RPG elements, no open world find the question mark Weapons are fun. Enemies are fun. Levels offer a nice mix of stealth and shooting. You get to be the predator; this isn’t a game about fending off waves of enemies while a robot companion unlocks a door. Most importantly, New Order is the last of a dying breed of single player shooters.

Singleplayer shooters are still getting released every year, just look up "boomer shooters" and you'll find an an abundance of them. AAA fps campaigns, not so much.

Last year had Trepang2, RoboCop: Rogue City, Turbo Overkill, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun, Dread Templar, Sprawl and more
