Porn king calls for PS3 support

The kingpin of the world's largest pornography producer has called on Sony to make downloadable HD adult movies available worldwide through PSN.

The Vivid Entertainment founder and co-chairman, Steven Hirsch, told MCV that he believed the distribution of porn films on PS3 had "real potential" for the adult entertainment industry.

Japanese firm DDM.tv last month revealed that it had launched an HD porn download service for owners of the PS3 – but it is only available in its home territory for the time being.

Now I just have to figure out how to use two joysticks.

Simon_Brezhnev5352d ago

well im not really sure but can you put parent lock on videos already on the hard drive of ps3?

FarEastOrient5352d ago (Edited 5352d ago )

Porn always had porn support especially in Japan. Is this something really new?

Actually you can download them to your PS3 in Japan, I don't know how the rest of the world will react.

yippie1234y5352d ago

more options = better

if you dont like move on to something else.

Chewy1025352d ago

Each video has a rating from 1-9. You can go into the settings and block any of them you want.

Lifendz5352d ago

Web Browser people.

But to be serious, I doubt Sony wants the kind of publicity having an adult store on a video game console brings.

ThanatosDMC5352d ago

They still dont have Bluray porn, huh?

FamilyGuy5352d ago

There is blu-ray porn, "Pirates" was supposedly the first and ive seen a few XXX 720p movies on the internet that were about 4Gb MKVs.

Simply type blu-ray porn in google to answer you question immediately. "Jesse Jane: Heat" is a nice one.

rockleex5352d ago

It would be a smart thing for Sony to offer porn on their video service.

By the way, I'm still wondering where the hell our music store is. Even if they can't get other studios to join in, they still have their own Sony BMG records to offer! >_<

Bob Loblaw5352d ago

Will the videos have DualShock 3 support >:D

Fishy Fingers5353d ago

I agree with what he's saying, as long as it's monitored correctly there should be no cause for concern. Although what I find strange is people with the internet actually paying to access porn.

Eddie201015352d ago

Not going to happen. The heat would be way too much...no pun intended.

Delta5353d ago

this would boost PS3 sales UP,Up,Up and away. :)

Beast_Master5352d ago

Not to mention PSN video store activity.

man0fsteel5352d ago

not mention the activity ... in your pants

man0fsteel5352d ago (Edited 5352d ago )

k, for whomever that disagreed ...

... why would that be wrong? why won't that happen? Erectile Dysfunction?

thetruthinator5352d ago

it would certainly boost sales... but then i would be forced to call it the Porn-Station.

Delta5352d ago

It already is. :). "It only does everything" :)

*waits patiently for Fox News pundits to start whining about this*

ChozenWoan5352d ago

Look at what happened with GTA when the news got out about "Hot Coffee". Sales went through the roof. Fox news going on a tirade about this would only increase demand for it... especially among congressmen as they like to hide their sexual escapades.

Ravage275352d ago

after all, the average age of a PS3 gamer is 28, well above the legal age! :p

Delta5352d ago

But think of the children. LOL

dirthurts5352d ago

Children will love it!

Jk.
Just tie it to a credit card. No kids allowed.

FarEastOrient5352d ago

There is a UK study out that showed the average early viewing age is 11 years old when it is the first time viewing it. The average age of a PS3 consumer is 28, in Japan (America shares the same region code) has access to games that are already "not safe for work" or children.

Something as soft core as Idol@Master for the PSP and PS3 has sold pretty big over there. Fate/Stay Night (same makers of Tsukihime) has been one of the recent break through products also. For those that know what I'm talking about in Fate/Stay Night to restore the powers of your servant you have to sleep with them.

Actually scratch that, a small percentage of the games on the PS3/PSP is not safe for children. (I think since what we consider safe for children is different in different countries)

Bebedora5352d ago

@Delta: Do we have reverant Lovejoy's wife online? ^.^

FF7numbaone5352d ago

screw the children. lol Very happy with the mature ps3 crowd. Eventually the kids will start getting ps3s.

Games That Were Bad on Release, But Are Now Great

BLG writes, "Some of the most popular games have had a rough start, with some of them being downright unplayable.

Despite that, developers have managed to turn it around for them and make their game worth playing. Here are some games that had a rough start but were pretty great."

Good list..hoped to see Street Fighter 5 there..and it is.

Vits1d 11h ago (Edited 1d 11h ago )

Sea of Thieves... I'm not disagreeing that the game has improved in terms of content. But I feel that the most significant change between now and its release is actually the public perception. Nowadays, most people are aware that the game is a multiplayer PvP-focused experience first and foremost, and not "Black Flag made by Rare". Consequently, people dismissing the whole experience because the single-player aspect is lacking or the story is plain are much less common.

darthv721d 9h ago

Several years ago, i submitted an idea to Rare that would change up the mechanics of battling opponents in the game. whereby if you died in battle, you turned into a skeleton warrior and had to fight your way back to the land of the living. It was an interesting twist on respawning and would allow the player to experience both sides of a battle.

I keep hoping to see something like that get added to the game.

Kaii1d 11h ago

They consider FO 76 & ME Andromeda to be great now 🤭

anast1d 8h ago

Every game in the last 2 decades...

INMATEofARKHAM1d 5h ago

It's sad that this quick retort is more often than not true... The industry's acceptance of release and patch has gone too far.

gunnerforlife17h ago

Days gone! By the end of the game I couldn't drop it down! I went around so many hours killing zombies! It was addictive by the end.

S2Killinit13h ago

That game was just plain good game. It didnt improve, it was just good.

gunnerforlife11h ago

I don't know, I got it abit late, and struggled for a few days, and then all of a sudden it just got good!!
