PS3 exclusives sell 45% better than multiplatform releases

PS3 fanboys don't like to share, it seems. According to EEDAR analyst Jesse Divnich, PS3 owners prefer exclusives on their systems. In fact, a title that is exclusive to PS3 will sell 45% better on the system than a multiplatform title. Exclusives on both the Wii and Xbox 360, according to the analyst, only have a "small increase" over multiplatform titles.

Keep telling yourself that Uncharted and MGS4 look better than COD4 X360 and Gears of War and maybe it will come true! MGS4's graphical quality is about on par with Assassin's Creed for the 360. Of course, you probably don't know that because Assassin's Creed looked bad on the PS3.

Damn, I wateched a bunch of MGS4 footage and sometimes it even looks as bad as Counterstrike: Source in that the gameplay animations are weak (i.e. the characters are as stiff as boards) and they're animations are unrealistic.

Considering you haven't actually PLAYED the game yet, what makes you think we care what you have to say? Us who have actually played this game can tell you straight up that MGS4 has AAA presentation (sound is off the charts and graphics are as clean as you can imagine). COD4 on 360 looked identical to the PS3 version, maybe even worse, so your baseless argument doesn't fly here.

Gears of War? Counterstrike?? Really? You really shouldn't talk of things you do not know. If you haven't played the game you aren't qualified to compare it to anything.

I didn't really like the original and hated the second one. I won't be fooled again. In my opinion Kojima is an over-rated storyteller. His stories act out like bad Hollywood blockbusters. This wouldn't be so bad (it's a video game, afterall!) if he didn't ram them down your throat with each installment in the form of drawn out, badly edited cut-scenes. I wish someone would tell him more does not equal better but I suppose he's the emperor with no clothes at Konami.

If he wants to make a game like a movie then I will judge the game like a movie.

As for it's graphics, I don't have to play a game to judge its graphical quality when a ton of gameplay footage and screenshots are available online. Sorry, Gears of War and COD4 looks better. Don't get me wrong. MGS4 looks slick but it's hardly the end-all, be-all of next gen graphics.

I have bought Warhawk, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Heavenly Sword, SingStar, Eye of Judgement, Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted, Folklore, Motorstorm, Resistance, Gran Turismo Prologue, MGS4, wich all are PS3 exclusives. (I have many PSN games too)

I also have FIFA 08, Call of Duty 4, Oblivion, Guitar Hero III.

I chose NOT to buy GTA IV & Devil May Cray 4.

Lost PS3 exclusives are on my NO list. Games that have been X360/PC games I buy if I like them (wanna buy Bioshock when it's released), and some multiplatform games I just have to buy, like Call of Duty 4.

With the difficulties of the PS3, the exclusives are usually where the quality is. In the past (up until recently that is) the multi-plats have really suffered. There are of course exceptions but multi-plat games on 360 and wii look just as good as the exclusives but on the PS3 there is a huge difference most of the time between multi-platform titles and exclusives.

I own a PS3 and a 360 and 12 games between them. Only three are multiplat. 4 if you count virtua fighter which was exclusive to ps3 at the time.

I have always been about the exclusives. One of the few multiplats I have been impressed with is COD4 and thats about it. I usually only buy exclusives.

I bought my 60GB PS3 in December 2006 and I had ONLY bought PS3 Exclusives up until the release of GTA4. So basically GTA4 was my first Multiplatform game purchase after having my PS3 for 1 year and 4 months.

The reason why I don't buy many 3rd party Multiplatform games is because:

- I don't think that a lot of multiplatform game titles are worth paying $59.99 for.

- 3rd party Multiplatform games aren't pushing the PS3's capabilities because the majority of them are just 360 ports.

PS3 owners like me know that a lot of Multiplatform game titles aren't pushing the PS3 and that's probably why a lot of PS3 owners like me aren't jumping aboard the Multiplatform bandwagon as much.

The only Multiplatform games that I currently plan on buying this year for the PS3 are: Fallout 3 and Dead Space. Other than that, I'm buying all of the rest of the PS3 exclusives for the year. I'm a firm believer of putting PS3 exclusives above any 3rd party game title.

Exclusives are almost always better. Whether they're for the ms, nintendo, sega or sony consoles. The devs take the time to craft the game for one system, and the results show. This gen has been great so far, but the one thing I dislike is the amount of multiplatform games vs exclusives. Too many series have gone multiplatform, and the quality suffers as a result. Just think of all the top games you've enjoyed as gamers over the years, i'll bet most were console exclusives.

The reason we prefer exclusives is because when a developer does go multiplatform they choose xbox360 as there lead platform and then we end up with a crappy port

The PS3 titles will be improved just like the PS2.. You remember the look of Resident Evil 4 on PS2 ? Wow it was stunning.. If PS2 had a bit better hardware it could probably run Bioshock - the 360 version..

Bioshock uses Pixel shader 3.0 , RE 4 uses 2.0 .. There you go ;)

I own Ratchet & Clank Future, Uncharted, MGS4, Resistance, COD4, Motorstorm, GT5: Prologue and GTA4 on my PS3. Six exclusives and 2 multiplatforms.

On my 360 I own Halo 3, NBA Street Homecourt, Crackdown, Gears of War, Madden 08, The Bigs and Forza 2. Four exclusives and 3 multiplatforms.

I'd say that the argument goes both ways for me. However, the PS3 has more exclusives that I would ever want to buy over the 360 because of the variety of games that I enjoy, now and in the future.

I find it funny how you have to assume that everyone on this site that is playing MGS4 have to be saying they like it just to say they have a one-up on 360. The Playstation brand is as strong as we know it because of the exclusive games that have been the 'image' of the Sony consoles. Usually exclusive Playstation titles push the boundaries of the machines they're on more so then multi-platform titles, IMO.

Stuff like Final Fantasy (although not since the first), Tekken, God of War, Twisted Metal, Metal Gear, etc. and more recently Uncharted, Resistance and MotorStorm, amongst others are franchises deeply conotated with the Playstation brand and the ppl who do buy Sony's consoles do it with games like those in mind.

Out of the 7 PS3 games I have (soon to be 8 when I get MGS4 soon) 3 are multi-platform, so I guess I'm right on target with this 45% avg. :p

...my three friends who own PS3's. They will only buy the exclusive games and buy all the mulitiplat's on their 360's. Yes sir. The 360 is easier to develope for. Its' architecture closely resembles that of a PC. All devs are familiar with it and thats why PC specific devs like Epic and Valve favor it over PS3 and thats why it see's so many PC ports. This is certainly not a knock against the 360.

The PS3 is more complicated but to me the reward seems to pay off for devs who really try to get down to nitty gritty with it. Uncharted is proof, so is R&C, GT:P5 and more recently MGS4!!! The PS3 is clearly seperating itself from run of the mill developement. Keep in mind that we are seeing games like Uncharted and MGS4 barely 2 years into the PS3 life cycle that look better than anything on any other console! So imagine what we are going to be experiencing 2 or 3 years from now when developing for the PS3 becomes 2nd nature to devs who work with it.

Some retatrded devs have gone on recored calling the PS3 "A waste of time". Perhaps they are right because I have been wasting alot of time playing some awsome sh!t from developers like Insomniac, Naughty Dog and Konami who choose to evolve instead of revolve and some times it feels like there no better way I'd like to waste my time because it sure feels nice. There's truth in that. MGS4 is THE best game I have ever seen. The graphics are so realistic that it's mouth watering. Can't wait to dive into this game even further.
