The first one had a story? I don't remember any story to it. I do agree though that the second needs more enemies at a time because I got kind of bored with the first especially since they basically all came straight at you. Graphically though it remains one of the best. Lets hope the second surpasses the original's graphics.

I guess, doesn't show anything at all, well except that it will be out in Nov '08, which is awesome. IMO, this will be the biggest game of '08, it will get the kind of coverage that H3 got, it will be everywhere.

I have a feeling this teaser tells us more than we think.

1. You hear Dom saying "if anything happens to me find maria." Could this be the story to this game, Dom gets killed or injured, and you have to find Maria, at least for part of the game, to tell her what happened.

2. Knowing Epic, instead of killing dom he'll probably be turned into some kind of locust soldier or something, like everyone expects the Locusts queen is not a locusts at all. That would be a sweet final boss, fighting dom after playing him in the first game.

3. The chainsaw. Maybe locusts can now block the chainsaw, instigating some kind of mini game like RE4 where you have to press the right buttons and you push them away and chainsaw them in the back. That would definately be sweet and intense if you can still die from other locusts while the minigame is taking place, like you have to do it as quick as possible to limit your chance of dying.

I did toss it aside for 2 months and such...Ya know there are certain games you never forget when you first get a console. Gears of War was one of them, welcome to next-gen BAM!!!I remember Jet Set Radio:Future was the first game for my Original Xbox.

Yea I liked gears even though my friend liked it alot more than me. I just felt it had too many glitches but the graphics was still top notch.

GTA4 is one of those sandbox games that will sell no matter, looking at past sales.

I think you'll find that you will be correct.

GTAIV will probably sell the most, then madden and a couple other sports games, but Gears of War 2 will almost certainly out-sell MGS4.

there was nothing there. it showed nothing of interest. how can you say that was "cool"? the only thing to come of that was the nov. Personally aside from the amazing graphics, Gears of War was alright... The single player game was good but I found the online portion was rather lacking. 8 player rambo style run around blood bath.... If I were a FPS newbie and had no skills then I would probably have played it more.

If it's anything like the first GOW, I'll play the story mode and return it for half of my money back after a few days.

I'm a R6, Halo, Ghost Recon, COD, MGS, Killzone type of guy. Tactics/hand-eye cordination skills and online stats are what catch my interest. If GOW2 is more of a tactical game this time around then I'm all for it. But if it's the same run around, point and shoot type of game then I'll pass.

I played GeoW, living in Britain, I am like the only person with a PlayStation 3. SO all my friends have loved GeoW, but I really have to admit I resent people calling it next-gen, and I hate the Unreal camp art direction (the same goes for UT III) and the general grey boring game play that goes with it.

It was, to most 360 fans an equivalent in quality of Heavenly Sword, there was literally nothing special about it. Just a plain simply fun game. I can definitely see the marketing playing a role in it's exaggerated hype. But Microsoft does deserve respect there. Very good advertising.

And before shoutign out GotY, wait for the year to be through, despite not owning a 360 notice me not contesting this view, and rather waitinf for it to be confirmed or not.

Surely if this game was as next-gen as you say it is, then it would have revolutionised gaming. And I really don't see that. And also if that statement was true, then my comparison with Heavenly Sword, and equally good/mediocre game then that would have revolutionised gaming.

I don't know, but I think ti could have a ah rd time, making Playstaion 3 look last-gen, especially with the slurry of games that are coming for it. I won't discount it by any means though. The industry moves fast, and so do consumers. No doubt it will be a large financial success.

about no gameplay footage, it will be interesting to see how epic improves the stop and pop dynamic since so many games use it now. i also felt the video was kinda "finish the fight"ish in terms of it just existing to make fans feel good. im excited about seeing more but everyone already knew GeOW2 was coming so no big shocker today unfortunately

And, we still havent really seen any gameplay footage except some tech-demonstrations.

There is *plenty* of time for them to market the game and release details. In due time, all in due time.

But, I suspect you're not really interested... I highly recommend you buy a Xbox 360 so you can play the vast library of great games and be ready for Gears of War 2, you dont want to miss out on what many expect to be Game of the Year 2008.

From just seeing the trailer, I can come to a conclusion that if 2 people are using the chainsaw at the same time it will activate a struggle feature and the winner would chop the loser in half like in the video. Thus eliminating the chainsaw imbalance. KICK ASS!
