The beta for Uncharted 2 is only a few weeks away and it couldn't come any sooner. The environments in this game is amazing. The action and gameplay is amazing. Anyways, the game look freaking brilliant and the animations are like nothing else out there.

That is what i personaly like about so meny of the Ps3 games. The animations are just spot on.
It started with 'Heavenly Sword' and 'Uncharted 1' setting the standard for animations. Then it were Killzone 2 and InFamous raising the bar yet again. And now it seems that Uncharted 2 is doing the impossible.

I guess Uncharted went from a rated T game to rated M. Uncharted is one of my top 5 PS3 games, and Naughty Dog said there were going deeper into Drake's Character, but I hope this game keeps the same charm that the first one did. I know it's only 5 minutes, but it just wasn't there.

You do know that Uncharted 2 has Multiplayer right? Uncharted 1 had plenty of replay value to me, even without Multiplayer, but the Multiplayer in Uncharted 2 is just icing on the cake.

Take your trolling somewhere else like the OPEN ZONE. There's no need to be bitter because there hasn't been any awesome leaked footage from an upcoming Xbox 360 Exclusive so far this year. You had your fanboy goggles on while playing Uncharted 1 (if you really played it) so you couldn't enjoy the game even if you tried to.

Anyways, Naughty Dog FTW!! They should be renamed to "NaughtyGods". Making amazing PS exclusives since 1996!

This game is the first third person shooter that ever made me stand back in awe.... And it isn't even finished! The animations are nearly as good as that eight days demo, the graphics are better than killzone, the character is far more likeable than killzone, and the attention to detail is astounding...

By the way is this all going to be updated at e3 and become even better somehow, or is this leaked e3 footage?

Edit: Just saw AgentVX's comic... I've never seen anyone so delusional, if a game is good just give it some f*cking credit if this was a 360 exclusive you would be all over it.

Why try to downplay it? Fallout 3 and COD4? Please FO3 camera sucks in 3rd and it has no cover system, stealth kills, or climbing. COD4 is standard FPS stuff. So please explain how this is like either of those. Tomb Raider you say? No one who actually played this would compare it to Tomb Raider. It has more in common with GeOW than Tomb Raider IMO.

Drake's Fortune is still one of my favourte games and this video has confirmed that this game will feature everything that the first game did, as well as some improvements.

Animation has gone from amazing to rediculously amazing
Moving from cover to cover seems to be a lot smoother
Stealth takedowns hace been improved
Weapon damage has been increased to add realism
Riot shields providing movable cover
Climbing is more lika Assassins Creed than Drake's Fortune
A lot more on screen at once
And of course, improved graphics

All these improvements plus a multiplayer component have ensured that I will enjoy this game as much as, or more than, I did Drake's Fortune.

Uncharted is my favorite game this generation. I just can't describe how much joy it gives me. Uncharted, by itself, is reason enough to own a PS3. You could take away all the other great games, the Blu-ray player, web browser, and other multi-media features and I would still believe it essential to own a PS3 just for Uncharted.

Having said all that, I guess you can guess at how excited I am for the sequel. Especially after seeing that amazing video.

While I won't proclaim it Game of the Year yet, Lord knows it'll be a damned good candidate. I really wouldn't be surprised if it walked away with multiple accolades. Naughty Dog's doing very well blending Gears of War style action with seeming Metal Gear stealth, motions, and attack. They put to together so seamlessly it almost seems as if the two were intertwined from the beginning. Kudos to Naughty Dog, truly a superior PS3 developer.

Well, everybody knows that 360 was launched year ahead from PS3, till date 360 is not able to release any exclusive (in house engine) game which seperates it from the rest of the games. Yeah I know Gears of War series is there but its development engine is multiplatform and just like me & so many other gamers are sick and tired of its texture popping and different shades of gray/brown routine.

Before I was comparing Gears of War 2 with Killzone 2 graphics and as being a loyal fan of Xbox 360 was blindfolded and blatantly kept praising about Gears of War 2 graphics even though I, U and everyone knew deep inside heart that it is not true and Killzone 2 graphics are superior in many key areas when compared. With the latest release of Uncharted 2 gameplay video (5 minutes duration), Heavy Rain 9 min developer walkthrough, disappointing graphics detail of upcoming game Modern Warfare 2 and no other game on the horizon that stands out and yells that wait X360 is not done yet makes me believe that X360 has comes to its age. And now I also believe Xbox 360 is the main culprit holding many developers back to show real next gen game graphics and true potential of PS3 power.

This is my take on Micrsoft strategy.

-PS3 has a life span of 10 years.
-Xbox 360 for 5 years + Xbox Nxt for 5 years.

To put it in order of console graphics wise.

PSone > PS2 > Xbox > Xbox 360 > PS3
----------------------------- --- Xbox Nxt
Xbox Nxt: will be the one which will be close/equal/bit superior to the power of PS3.

So yeah ... I had very high hopes for Modern Warfare 2 graphics and was expecting this will be the game that'll make me proud owner of Xbox 360 but guess this is what I deserved.

My favorite part had to be near the end when he does a quick fire from his M4 and then lays a guy out with a dirty left hook punch. I love the way the game transitions from cinematics to gameplay and that Nathan Drake is one bad@ss mo-fo.I just bought Uncharted 1 yesterday out of impulse and I feel like I should stab myself for not buying this game earlier.I'm up to chapter six and what I've seen so far graphics-wise,it kills GeOW 1+2....well not kill but knocks out.The game is a bit tough on normal but I like it.Now off to play some more Uncharted.

I couldn't agree more. As many have stated before, the animations displayed in this 5 minute video are unbelievable. There was also a sequence in the video that displayed the reflection of the water shimmering on the wall while Drake was jumping from the bookcase due to the natural lighting that was being displayed on the water below - AMAZING!. All biases aside I must say that since KILLZONE 2 these PS3 exclusives have been making some rather bold statements.

ever since I got my first PS3 that february after it launched and saw how its version of fight night rd3 just blew away the 360 in terms of textures and lighting I started doing research into the cell and within a couple of months had an idea of what this beast is capable of. I started telling ignorant fanboys who were complaining about disk loading and loading times on the PS3. "That is a limitation of the code being written and not the hardware, PS3 is the FIRST home console and as a matter of fact not even high end PC's can run OpenGL in immediate mode, which means no backbuffers to set up your frames if you code the SPU's correctly. backface culling, multitexturing, dynamic lighting, physics & animation can all happen in real time." I got laughed at, told I didn't know what I was talking about, told I am a Sony fanboy(which btw I see nothing wrong with)only to have all the armchair developers look MASSIVELY STUPID AND IGNORANT now that Naughty has pretty much achieved what I know is possible with the PS3. I mean MY GOD you have 19.2 BILLLION processor cycles happening in REAL TIME to support an immediate rendering pipeline. This is stuff that most middle of the road programmers are not even familiar with at this point because for YEARS they had to deal with system bottlenecks that required double, triple even quad frame buffering just to get the game to run smoothly. THIS IS UNCHARTED (no pun intended) waters for them. Devs who gotten a handle on how to program for the cell will dominate this generation while those that made excuses and relied on microsofts marketing (lies) to keep the money rolling in for them. The PS3 doesn't give a cheap one night fling and then doesn't call you anymore. It is that quality girlfriend YOU WANT to have a long relationship with.

When ND announced Uncharted2 I asked myself is it reaaaaaly possible to make this game look and play any better than U1? Myself said c'mon s2Dc- Uncharted 1 is awsome! you beat every difficulty, found every treasure, earned every trophy. SO, it will probably be just as good but not better.

Yeah, graphics are great, gameplay looks fun and varied, and most importantly the game maintains it's atmosphere with the characters. Uncharted was great for its story and good gameplay, I'm hoping Uncharted 2 is even better for it's great story, beautiful looking environments, and improved gameplay.

Uncharted 2 is going to live up to the hype, I can't wait for this game, part 1 looked stunning on an LCD or Plasma, which ever HDTV you had..

and part 2 is going to be even more amazing... it looks fantastic, they have done a really nice job of keeping the love it or hate it gameplay style.. even if you don't like the style the game was fun to play.

I loved it, the feel and control was perfect to me, and adding the climbing and other things, just makes this one look like it's going to be really sweet.

This is going to be sweet. -and now that they have added a multi-player this game is going to be a must have if you own a PS3..

Every word you just said describes Gears of War 2 as well. And that game sold very well and got fantastic reviews. So, people liked it, people bought it, and that's all that matters. Gears 2 didn't win Game of the Year awards, but it was well-received and sold well. The same will be true of Uncharted 2. And that's fine. You make a reasonable point, but it's important to remember that video games are not quite up to the level of movies in terms of what merits a best of the year title. It's not improbable that a game like Uncharted could get GOTY because most games are like summer blockbusters. Halo 3 and COD4 didn't push their genres or stories into new places, they were just exceedingly good.

While Uncharted's stories aren't epic crime dramas or world conflicts, the involving stories and excellent characterization push it ahead of most games' plots as is. If this video is any indication the gameplay is looking top notch, and the extra coop and online features will absolutely make it worth a purchase.

But, the most important thing to comment on? What you described are past GOTYs. I mean, look at last year's GOTY, Fallout 3, or BioShock and COD4 from the year before. Neither of those did anything you would consider worthy of GOTY, and yet, there they stand. OK....for one..it's obvious you do not own a PS3..and have not played the first Uncharted..or had the fortunate pleasure to experience any of Sony PS3 exclusives..

That was awesome. First I loved the jeep chase and the explosion to the face. That was so Indiana Jones like. Next I loved the stealth kills. I loved the way he pulled that guy of the ledge, but even more I loved the way he spun that guy around the corner and slammed his head against the wall. this looks astounding. I can't remember being this floored by a video game preview since the very first showing of Heavy Rain and the (now infamous) Killzone 2 video.

Drakes Fortune is in my top 5 favorite games ever, and I am sure that I will love the sequel, but I have one concern. I miss the jungles from the first game. I just hope that there will be a lot more environments than the one shown in this video.

You know, there are a lot of games I love this generation, from MGS4, to Mass Effect, Killzone 2 to Gears of War. But one game has stayed with me more than all others and that game is Uncharted. I was blown away by the brilliance of that game and no matter how many times I go back to it I am still wowed by it.

Amazingly enough, it now seems apparent that those geniuses at Naughty Dog are managing to surpass the already high standards of the first game. I love the new stealth mechanics, the hand to hand combat improvements, the greatly expanded traversal mechanics and the improved animations.

And to top it all off Naughty Dog have gone beyond the stunning graphics of the first game to create what are in my eyes the finest graphics ever seen in a console game. Simply beautiful.

Oh, and multiplayer competitive and co-op modes...wow, Naughty Dog have really outdone themselves this time.

If you've played the first one, you'd know how the cover system works and how it differs from gears. I personnaly find it better than gears because of the unlocked camera angle, which makes getting to cover easier as well as offering some intense run and gun moments like at the beginning of the video. The unlocked camera angle also makes the close up fighting much better than in gears.

Just watched the mp4 720p footage from gamersyde and Im VERY effin impressed, this game is the dogs bollocks. Few things i noticed, firstly theres like, almost 0 aliasing, looks so smooth! Secondly, despite some slight inconsistencies (rubble on floor) the level of detail on EVERYTHING is amazing. Also theres not one instance of slow down in fpsor screen tearing, looks about 40-60 fps :D however drake isnt reflected in the water but omg everything else is amazibg, theyv even introduced a scope nd new stealth elements. Animations areflawless. Events look rli satisfying, script is funny, likeable character. I know this might be too soon, but theGOTY for me hasbeen conformed :)

Okay i'm a gamer, but a very poor one at that so i could only afford one system and i went with 360 because at the time it had the better line up of games. But with this and games like metal gear and kill zone 2 and other games that are about to come out that won't come to 360 like Versus XIII and Infamous, I'm definitely buying a ps3 ASAP. Hopefully they make a slim version and some how regain backwards compatability with newer models because I love my old school final fantasies especially X. But yeah Unchaarted 2 looks beautiful in every sense of a game.

Lighting is everything and here it is superbly done - almost photo realism at times thanks to the subtle lighting in different parts of the screen

Animation blurring is certainly not overdone either and it all looks rather class

Throw in excellent main character both regards to exellent voice acting and just simply because he is so well realised, and you have a a beautifully crafted game

And to all of those afraid to get criticized, the ones that say "I have a PS3 and I love it but..", grow some balls. I have a PS3. And guess what? I use it once every two weeks and as a media server. Yeah, I played MGS4 and loved it, but the selection on that system is slim pickens.

And lets not even get started with the terrible online support. Quit your chirping about PSN being free. I'd gladly pay $100 a year if the PS3 was anywhere near the level of playability of the 360. There's nothing like trying to play a game of Killzone 2 with no party chat support, matchmaking lobbies, and crappy Bluetooth headsets that pickup up the sound of your mom pinching a loaf in the next room over.

I have no idea what the hell that is, i've never had a problem with getting into a multiplayer game and talking to people. The game invite system is kinda confusing at first but i know how to do it now so i don't notice it anymore. I honestly feel like the psn complaints are from people who take online multiplayer way too seriously. Plus one thing i can say is that im so glad the ps3 doesn't come with a headset cause live is filled with angry 12 year olds. I've never heard any yelling or screaming on the psn. Maybe it's just the game audience though, i mainly play, kz2, skate2 & resistance2.

After seeing this, the PS3 is without a doubt in a different class to the 360. Indeed Sony was right when they said next gen does NOT begin until they say it does.

For over 2 years I have been telling you guys that the PS3 will show a level of gaming that will chit all over any 360 game or early PS3 game. Frack, this looks better than any PC game I have ever seen. And the best part? PS3 games will get better and better for at least 3 more years.

Splinter cell or a big leap forward, it is not just that the graphics are good but it all seems to fit really well also, nothing seems out of place, or the full package if you like, you can always find fault but I am not going to nitpick at somthing that looks this good, I still favour my 360 because I honestly have no problem with it's graphics and I think Xbox-live is fantastic but I have to say that Uncharted 2 is a good look for me, a very very very nice looking game, I don't know about better than Crysis graphically but it is certainly the only game that can claim to be even close and I much prefer the art direction, infact I don't think I have seen a game that uses a similar engine, kudos, well done ND.

Uncharted 1 has to be one of the most engaging games i have played in my life...when I finished Bioshock for 360 the first time that felt like a surreal special moment....When I finish Uncharted 1..I was like Holy %&*%...that has to be one of the most engaging gaming experience I've had...more engaging than MGS4....

I loved the original Uncharted but this is what I call a sequel! It improves in every major category and some of the meelee moves Drake was pulling off were top-notch, it's like he got even more bad ass after the first game :D

I think when you look at how colorful U2 is, it might just have the best graphics set on a console even though KZ2 and MGS4 were spectacular...It looks like Uncharted 2 has raised the bar...Like every new PS3 title seems to be doing.

Almost the same, but all those multiplats for the PS3, def getting Halo ODST and Alan Wake if it shows its head. Microsoft have really disappointed me with their exclusives so far this gen.
