Crytek to produce game for Wii (PS3, Xbox 360 plans also underway)

Crytek, developer of forthcoming PC shooter Crysis, has confirmed to GamesIndustry.biz that it plans to produce games for consoles in future - including the Nintendo Wii.

"We have Wii development but it's very small, it's more like testing ideas. We don't have a project at this stage," said studio boss Cevat Yerli.

"Nintendo Wii is certainly on the radar, we will do something for Nintendo Wii - the question is when. I think some time maybe in three or four years, but nobody knows when."

Yerli's comments came during our visit to Crytek's Frankfurt studio, where he also revealed that there is a team dedicated to research and development for PlayStation 3.

cool, wonder what their research team can do with the PS3.

Jeremy Gerard6094d ago

that was a hard to understand, from what i read (i skipped the wii crap who cares about that POS) they have a team working on future PS3 programming and a team working on a 360 game. This probably means they will launch a 360 game first but when they do launch a PS3 title it will be of equal or greater quality to the 360 title/version. Smart move, if the PS3 is as difficult to work with as everyone leads us to beleev, then it is wise to put a team on it well in advance of working on an actual title.

Zelda Replay: Majora's Mask

VGChartz's Evan Norris: "Is Ocarina of Time as legendary as I remembered it? For the most part, yes. In spite of a handful of missteps — a few obtuse puzzles, some tedious backtracking, and a clunky stealth sequence — I don't believe the last 23 years have been unkind to it. Ocarina remains a brilliant example of the medium, a landmark game that shaped the future of its own franchise and 3D gaming in general. After more than two decades it retains its inventive dungeon design, challenging puzzles, dynamic combat, wistful storyline, unforgettable music, and empowering open-air freedom. I feel confident calling it one of the greatest games of the fifth generation, even if I'm no longer prepared to list it among the five best games ever made."

Pure unadulterated fun. They don't make them like this anymore...especially not the triple A industry.

Back when video rental was a thing, I rented out Majoria's Mask, I never finished it though. I did buy the 3DS version before the eshop shutdown, so maybe one day I'll finally play through the whole thing, it's amazing how well these games hold up though. I briefly played Ocarina of Time for a while and it was really fun.

Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell Of Ar Ciel Retro Review – Love Conquers All

Gary Green said: You’ll be forgiven if you haven’t heard of the Ar Tonelico trilogy. The previous two games arrived so late in the PS2’s life-cycle that they simply went unnoticed. While most were tinkering with their shiny new PS3s, Ar Tonelico: Melody of Elemia and Ar Tonelico II: Melody of Metafalica were being ‘returned to sender’ by your local Game stores. Luckily, you won’t need to have played them to understand and appreciate this third and final chapter, Qoga (pronounced k-yoga) tells the story of a racial war between humans and Reyvateils, a breed of biologically produced female cyborgs capable of reproduction, while still having a digital mind.

Oh my god. I kinda wish this would get a remaster on PS5, it would be awesome. One of my favorite games on PS3.

That and 3D Dot Game Heroes. It's a shame that some stuff is stuck on PS3.

Ar Tonelico 3 is good I still prefer the first AT game. The music is solid in all the games and Akiko Shikata is a very talented singer bringing life to the game. Only annoying part is well I find is Saki I always choose Finnel or Tyria. KOEI so needs to HD remaster the franchise along with Ar Nosurge and Ciel Nosurge since it never came to North America. I would day one the Ar Toneliceo games and Ar Nosurge if they were remastered.

I still have the limited edition of Qoga unopened. Unfortunately it never went up in value like I had hoped all these years.

Used to own all these quirky JRPG on ps3 good times. Wish I would have kept them all

Pacific Rim Pinball comes to Pinball FX

This could be fun as they make great tables. Go big or go extinct. Prime your senses for a neural handshake and step into the cockpit of a Jaeger. It is on you to cancel the apocalypse when Pacific Rim Pinball comes to Pinball FX on May 16.
