BioShock: PS3 Data Found in .ini File.

QUOTED:

"Look what some one found In the configuration file of the PC Demo of Bioshock: there are some notes for the interested about the game engine configurations options and there's a little topic about consoles.
[Console]
;; Console (XBox360, PS3) specific settings

;; StreamingDynamicFloatingLimit:
;; If this is a positive number, then instead of using the fixed per-level
;; limits, the StreamingDynamic resource will use as much memory as is
;; available as long as the total memory allocated by the game is less than
;; the specified number. In other words, StreamingDynamic will grow and
;; shrink to fit to the available memory instead of being locked to a fixed
;; budget
StreamingDynamicFloatingLimit=500

You'll find this under Program Files/2k Game/Bioshock demo/Content/config.ini , just open the file with notepad or wordpad . Good news for ps3 fans although most already assumed the game was coming."

Please check for yourselves...

Our developer from Valve who works for PSU.com was first to find it. Here is the source:

Foliage6094d ago

It's not very surprising. The game isn't exclusive to begin with, seeing as it is on the PC. Microsoft paid them to keep it off the PS3 for a while, but considering how development was already in progress for the PS3 version, scrapping it isn't very likely.

BubblesDAVERAGE6094d ago

Its comming we all know that...this is just like when we saw the pc code for gears of war..they will deny then later on here it comes with extra content

FreeMonk6094d ago

that if Bioshock comes out on the PS3, that all the PS3 fanboys that have been slating the game and calling it will have a sudden change of heart and start loving the game!

Shame these guys can't see over there PS3 love, they are missing out on soooo much!

Having Configuration settings in your init file clearly show a ps3 version is bound. Which isn't really somethign totally new, considering its already cross-platform with 360/PC.

Kudos!

Odion6094d ago

or that its old code since why would the PC code have any of the console code.

It also says on the box only for Windows and 360

Marona6094d ago

Where the heck do you see "Only" in the box? I don't see it anywhere.

mccomber6094d ago (Edited 6094d ago )

It says it right at the top; please forgive the blurry picture, but you can definitely see it.

PS-Wii-606094d ago

Enchanted Arms on the shelf. The box clearly says "ONLY ON XBOX 360"
and THAT copy was sitting beside the PS3 version =/

Don't matter much to me, I already have my Bioshock for 360 and would have chosen this version anyhow (360 controller is best for shooters and it has achievements).

But, how many people are buying the game NOW who might have chosen a PS3 version if given the chance?

This tactic (if there really is a PS3 Bioshock on the way) does prove to me the importance of "timed exclusivety" especially if other console versions are kept under wraps until after the original launch.

Staircase6094d ago

Doesn't Microsoft do that to even timed exclusives? (I'm asking a question, i really am not sure) =)

mccomber6094d ago

I honestly couldn't tell you, but as PS-Wii-60 points out it was on the Enchanted Arms box as well, so...

pilotpistolpete6094d ago

I think they slap on "only on xbox" as a "only on xbox at this time", meaning you wont find it anywhere else for the time being.

Take that for what you will

LiquifiedArt6094d ago (Edited 6094d ago )

IT will release on the newer version of Unreal Engine 3, after Sony's little engineers optimize the UE3 engine with Epic. I'd expect a Christmas 07 release to early 08.

InMyOpinion6094d ago (Edited 6094d ago )

I'd say christmas 08' considering how well the PS3 seems to handle the UE3 at the moment.

*edit - for those of you that did'nt get that, I'm thinking about all those delayed UE3 games for the PS3.*

jujunogo6094d ago

take a look at the case drawn up from 2k boston for spring release date of the ps3 version

Watkins6094d ago

So what are you saying? That Mark Rein lied when he said that UT3 was currently running better (on the PS3) than Gears ever did on the X360?

OMG 360 RUL3Z0RZ FTW6093d ago

Obviously, there is a delay because they have to rework everything so that the PS3 can actually handle this game. We all read the stories about how the PS3 is vastly inferior with cross-console games coming out. This is no different. I'm sure the developers realized this early on, and just threw their hands up and said "screw the ps3, we'll figure it out later." They then continued on to make the best game on earth and graced 360 owners with the best gameplay experiences they could ever dream of.

Prediction: BioShock will sell 8M copies, and make at least 75% of PS3 owners throw their consoles away, buy a 360, and then buy BioShock because they don't want to wait for 2K to rewrite all their code to accommodate the PS3. If you disagree with me, you obviously don't know what you're talking about.

Xbox 360 Will6094d ago

i predict 11 excuses, 23 spins, 17 PS3 bashes not related to this article, and 25 people saying they won't believe it till they see it.

Snake_Doctor6094d ago

Add in a few explanations of how bad it will be in comparison to 360 version and about 750+ degrees and I'd say that prediction is about right.

WafflesID6094d ago

Kinda funny. you guys did the same thing with MGS4.

Violater6094d ago

Especially after Kojima has debunked that rumor,
And 2k has opted to "no comment"

[end sarcasm]

Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell Of Ar Ciel Retro Review – Love Conquers All

Gary Green said: You’ll be forgiven if you haven’t heard of the Ar Tonelico trilogy. The previous two games arrived so late in the PS2’s life-cycle that they simply went unnoticed. While most were tinkering with their shiny new PS3s, Ar Tonelico: Melody of Elemia and Ar Tonelico II: Melody of Metafalica were being ‘returned to sender’ by your local Game stores. Luckily, you won’t need to have played them to understand and appreciate this third and final chapter, Qoga (pronounced k-yoga) tells the story of a racial war between humans and Reyvateils, a breed of biologically produced female cyborgs capable of reproduction, while still having a digital mind.

Oh my god. I kinda wish this would get a remaster on PS5, it would be awesome. One of my favorite games on PS3.

That and 3D Dot Game Heroes. It's a shame that some stuff is stuck on PS3.

Knightofelemia1d 1h ago

Ar Tonelico 3 is good I still prefer the first AT game. The music is solid in all the games and Akiko Shikata is a very talented singer bringing life to the game. Only annoying part is well I find is Saki I always choose Finnel or Tyria. KOEI so needs to HD remaster the franchise along with Ar Nosurge and Ciel Nosurge since it never came to North America. I would day one the Ar Toneliceo games and Ar Nosurge if they were remastered.

TheColbertinator1d ago

I still have the limited edition of Qoga unopened. Unfortunately it never went up in value like I had hoped all these years.

Used to own all these quirky JRPG on ps3 good times. Wish I would have kept them all

Pacific Rim Pinball comes to Pinball FX

This could be fun as they make great tables. Go big or go extinct. Prime your senses for a neural handshake and step into the cockpit of a Jaeger. It is on you to cancel the apocalypse when Pacific Rim Pinball comes to Pinball FX on May 16.

Mugen Souls Retro Review – Sexy Demon Space Adventure

Gary Green said: We have a juxtaposition of 2D and 3D visuals, flashy turn-based combat, quirky anime characters with cheeky dialogue with plenty of partial nudity; Yes, this is a Compile Heart JRPG. Whilst the engine is borrowed from Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2, Mugen Souls is more of a Disgaea spin-off. It’s not a strategy RPG as such, it merely sits within Disgaea’s ever-expanding universe (Multiverse? Netherverse? Your guess is as good as mine). You won’t find cameos though, since Mugen Souls is a franchise which aims to stand on its own two feet.
