LA Noire Confirmed PS3 Exclusive;GTA4 Delayed

Yeah we all know that GTAIV has been delayed for both the PS3 and the Xbox 360. However, there is some good news for PS3 owners. They will be happy to know that LA Noire has now been confirmed a PS3 exclusive according to the Latest financial report from Rockstar.

haha this actually got approved.. too funny. Well it is listed as only on the ps3 on the previous thread's link, but no official comment from Take 2. Also, the ps3 is supposedly getting an exclusive IP that is not LA NOIRE, so could it be that the ps3 is getting 2 exclusives from Rockstar??? Its more than likely that LA Noire is a timed exclusive, with the development team for 360 working on the downloadable content.

Well regarding the fact on the ANNOUNCEMENT that sony will be getting an EXCLUSIVE from Rockstar that is NOT LA. Noir, you'd think that if it was exclusive to ps3 it would have been announced at that time.. well at least common sense would dictate. The simple fact that the game is listed on the financial report as only being on ps3 ( notice how all the other games have each system they are being released on ), leads me to believe that yes, L.A. Noir is exclusive to the PS3 for the fiscal year 2008. The fact that no announcement was made when it was released that sony would be getting an exclusive from rockstar ( not LA Noir), does lead me to believe it would be a timed exclusive. Deduction.. you should learn it.

i'm gonna have to disagree with u on the game being timed because Team Bondi the developer team of L.A. Noire signed an exclusive game deal with Sony...so probably Rockstar and Sony are publishing the game

What's LA Noir?

Its very early in development, probably a late 08/early 09 release. I've only seen one movie for it and it didnt show any gameplay. You can check the movie out on gametrailers.com.

It seems kind of like a throwback 1940's detective story from rockstar. The preview clip kind of has an la confidential feel to it if you've ever seen the movie. (and if you haven't seen that movie, check it out, its awesome)

PS3 is certainly the lead platform and the only platform that we know for a fact it's being developed on. But that isn't the same thing as being "confirmed exclusive". It very well may be, it very well may not. Way too early to make a big deal about it.

Take-Two interactive, parent company of L.A. Noire publishers Rockstar Games recently published a press release on their website concerning their 2nd quarter financial results. In this release, a table of upcoming games due for release in fiscal 2008 was listed and L.A. Noire only had PS3 listed as it’s platform, while a number of other games listed multiple platforms. Take Two’s fiscal year ends in October, meaning L.A. Noire should be released during or before October 2008.

This PS3 exclusive “confirmation” may not surprise you, as way back in July 2005, Team Bondi orginally announced that the game would be developed “specifically for the PlayStation 3.”
However, more recently in September 2006, another article on IGN mentioned that “publisher representatives have made it a point to list L.A. Noire for ‘next-generation consoles’ and not solely the PS3″.

1. A Little over a month ago Take 2 says its a multi platform game.
2. Last week Sony made that big announcement about a new Rock star game coming only to the PS3, and even said it wasn't LA Noire, don't you think that they would have known about it and said it last week, since this conference is not about announcements.

@ Odion 29. You have news from 2005 and 2006 but we're in 2007, so just to let you know, Take Two on the 11th day of June re-confirmed L.A. Noire's exclusivity on the P$3, @ jay3 52. also knowing and quoting in an interview, Team Bondi's President said (In 2007) that "the project is wholly funded by Sony Computer Entertainment America. We have a long-term exclusive arrangement with SCEA." So, that pretty much erases the "time-exclusive" possibility or prospect.

In addition, Rockstar will be establishing a new franchise exclusive for the P$3 in hope that they can prove that they can still make behemoth games as Grand Theft Auto. But we have as yet to know even the title of this game.
