"Microsoft exclusive" in regards to a 360/PC only game is a BS term. MS doesn't see a cent of royalties on PC games unless they're the publisher. I don't even think the Games for Windows branding gives them any royalties except on GFW-exclusive DLC, and I may be wrong about that. There's a reason PC games cost $10 less, and the recent $60 PC games (COD6, AC2, and presumably Starcraft 2 if the Amazon page is any indication) have been price-jacking by the publisher. PC is an open platform, and MS doesn't get any royalties for games that run on Windows.

The 360 actually has enough true exclusives this year for a proper "Top 5" or "Top 10" list to be made. Maybe they shouldn't have limited to the spring, but they should've made this a "Top 5 games the PS3 won't get this spring" list if they wanted to be accurate. I'm not even sure why I care about this, I guess I'm sick of seeing the PC so disregarded. I remember seeing a "Top PS3-exclusive MMO" list for 2010, and NONE of the games were PS3 exclusives. The Agency and DC Universe may be published by SOE, but they're not PS3 exclusives. There's more PC gamers than any other platform right now, and yes, that includes people who play crappy flash games and farmville, but the fact remains that it's the largest gaming platform out there.

I'm sure I'll get hit with disagrees for this, but f*ck it, I don't care, this is how I feel and you can't deny the fact that one console + PC does NOT equal an exclusive.

i dont. Honestly though crysis is a nice looking game but i thought the gameplay was pretty poor and the aestetic bored me to death.... Now god of war 3 may not technically have the polly count crysis does but "graphics" are more then polly count. graphic design, art, scale, lighting and engines all play a part. Things like huge titans you ride while fighting mobs and bosses that dont exist in crysis. In crysis you get nice physics but im gow you get scale and art beyond anything in crysis... Its apples and oranges. I prefer gow anyday myself as far as gameplay. I mean would you rather punch scrap metal shacks or take down hades? As a gamer i vote hades... Microsoft gets money from the windows OS and Games for windows is built it, making the reason for owning the OS even better. Microsoft gets paid from windows enabled PC sales and stand alone windows skus. I don't understand why people are in here claiming Microsoft doesn't get royalties because all Microsoft is trying to do is sell their OS. No one in here said Microsoft is a publisher of all PC content. I just don't know why the PS3 fans even bother with this matter.

The windows OS is important to Microsoft. Games For Windows is no more important to the company than a perk for their OS. These games are not on PS3 that should be enough because that is all potential consumers will care about.

MS only gets money for PC games if developers choose to use games for windows live. There is no licensing fee like on the consoles, you don't have to get any kind of permission from them to make or sell games playable on windows. Instead, money goes towards people who distribute the games (Steam, D2D, GOG, etc).

Then were in the same boat. Well, minus owning a 360 part. I did that when it launched and just had it break on me. Like an asshat, I had it warranty repaired 6 times and 1 replacement because they sent me a PAL unit. I invested a lot in that POS and it burnt me. I bought into the hype and that too burnt me. It is possible, but a stretch. As far as you PS3 guys with what is exclusive: They are on no other console (Not wii, not PS3). If you want to play SC or Metro on console, you have to have a 360. Well, to be fair...what does PS3 have in the spring (March -May) beside GOW3?

Even though Splinter Cell and Metro 2033 are on PC, it is not on PS3. So, only around 5-10% of PS3 owners can even play these games. Also, they are games for Windows, which mean they are a Microsoft platform with DirectX 11 support, which is also Micrsoft.

So, if you can play Splinter cell on your PC, then good for you, but that doesn't change the fact it is also on X360 and NOT on any other console, which is what the xbox is competing against.

Why can't xbox fans have their place to talk about anythig x360 related, good or bad, whithout the PS3 trolls attacking, is that asking too much? Spray away.

I've never seen so many "gamers" overlooking games in my life. I get it. You don't have the 360/PS3. It's okay.

So Wii/iPhone are best consoles what there is, because those have most exclusives? I think not.

Only thing what should matter is how I can play Metro 2033, Splinter Cell, Mass Effect series, etc. games best way from my sofa with reasonable price.

I can't play those games with PS3. I can't play those games with Wii. I can play those games with PC, but creating PC set which my wife would approve to living room and which would run those games faster that 1 fps would cost in very minimum 600 to 1000 € and even then I wouldn't have any chance in mp games like MW2 and Battlefield Bad Company 2 against those guys who has spend over 200 € just for top notch mouse.

With Xbox360 I can play those same games with decent graphics comfortably from my sofa just for 220 € and I still can enjoy mp games, because without modding or cheats everybody are at the same line. As long those games aren't coming to other consoles or there isn't reasonable priced multimedia PC with capability to run latest games I think those games can be counted as Xbox360 exclusives.

Royalties have nothing to do to with exclusivity. If the game can not be played on the PS3, but it can be played on the Xbox 360 and PC so is an exclusive to the game console and the PC.

Although I do not have one, the Xbox 360 has some good stuff in 2010. I give props for Mass Effect 2 and Alan Wake, Splinter Cell: Conviction, and Metro 2033, all look great. Combined with Halo Reach and the multi plats of Battlefield 2, Final Fantasy 13, and Just Cause 2....360 in my opinion, will have it's best year ever. (However, I still have not intention of buying another one though....people say its fixed, but I had 4 RROD units. Sticking with Sony PS3 and its exclusives, but the 360 is good too.)

I personally own both and from a gaming perspective they both look too close to call one superior than the other. They both have their positives but they both have their negatives. Never had any interest in Alan Wake with it's poor gameplay (pull your flashlight out and aim at an enemy for 3 seconds which freeze them in place and then shoot 1 bullet = WIN) but I kind of want the game to be good so ill be able to wipe the dust over my xbox360 and play a game on it after not touching the console for over half a year.

I've always been a fan of Splinter Cell but always played it on the PC so only if there will be a much bigger online community on the 360 I will buy it for my xbox, otherwise ill buy it for the PC or not buy it at all since im gonna be short on money because of GOW III and BFBC2.
