GameStop is listing individual Rock Band pricing as follows:

In some aspect I agree that Its expesive but I think once you play it people will be dying to get enough money to purchase this game. Its going to be like nothing else. One thing that I dont understand is the different pricing between the xbox 360 controller and the PS3 controller, yet the total package for the game is the same for both the systems.

i believe they said in an interview recently that microsoft required something extra to be put into the controller. maybe building costs pshed up the price? i dunno, but that is odd.

and 200$ for the entire set? dammm thats expensive. but obviously im still getting it.

Well, PS3 peripherals just have to be blue-tooth compatible, but Microsoft has some kind of licensing or control over all wireless accessories for their system, right? Maybe that's affecting the cost.

the 360 uses some different type of wireless technology. bluetooth is cheaper.

Yes, Microsoft has proprietary wireless technology that up until now they wouldn't license, but Rock Band and GH3 will be using. That is absolutely what is driving up the price and another reason I'll probably get this for PS3.

I'm very excited. I don't care much for singing and drums, so I'll just get the game and the PS3 guitar to play some online Guitar Hero.

If the drums aspect begins to interest me later on, I'll wait for a price drop.

Yeah its steep but I will say, how much is FUN worth? If its gonna be fun then I am prolly gonna have to have it..Dont't care what the price is ...That mean if most say its fun then I 'll soon be saying the same..Or at least I'll know.

What Im gonna do is but Guitar Hero III for the 360 and get the wireless giutar and buy Rock band the game (by itself) while my friend's gonna but all of the other instruments. I think its a good plan.

i'll buy it used. and the guetar hero controler has 5 less buttons than this one. i wonder if there is a solution or you HAVE TO BUY A NEW ONE. but i thought they said it would work and now this guitar has ten buttons

they are the same 5 buttons as the bottom 5. It's just supposed to be SUPER COOL SOLO SECTION!!!!11 apparently the guitar has a 5-way switch so you can also select different effects, but in game informer it says that the old controller will be compatible with rock band.

It's interesting to see the the Rocband guitar controller has more features. If it DOES work with GH3 then that's the one you'll want - not the ones from Activision. If it doesn't then a whole lot of gamers will be cheesed off :)

I hope we know soon if we can use the guitar for GH3 and the Mic for Singstar and the like. That will make the price far easier to swallow. I'll probably get them all regardless, but it would be nice to not have 4 different guitar controllers etc. cluttering up the place.

I know they've said the guitar controllers would work - I imagine they just meant on 360 since PS2 isn't getting Rockband and PS3 doesn't have GH yet. Let's all cross our fingers.

I just don't understand the whole guitar hero and rock band craze. I've played guitar hero 1 and 2, frequency, amplitude, all that similar stuff... It's fun I guess...

BUT what happened to going and buying a REAL guitar or drum set, or just plain singing? I think it is a lot more commendable to actually play an instrument than pressing buttons in time while watching tv (dry eyes and losing contacts from staring).

Whatever, If everyone one enjoys it and likes shelling out the money for new games, songs, and guitars, go for it, I guess it's probably is just a little cheaper than buying a real instrument. I dunno about you, but last time I checked, ladys fall for the real guitar hero, not the game playing one.

Well when I first read it I thought 200 was a bit much but after thinking how much I payed for Guitar Hero the price really is not bad. I hope the game will be great. I for one think the competition between this and Guitar Hero can only make future games even better. So I hope this will be a hit.

People complain about pricing too much. How mush is it right now just for a wireless guitar at the store. Just an hour ago was there, and the sell for 60 bucks. So why complain? For 200 dollars you get the drums, Mic, guitar....that's not bad. Because you know, if they wanted too, they'd just charge like 80 bucks for drums, since there are more pieces, 60 bucks for the guitar, 50 (or 60) for the game, and like 40 fior the microphone. After tax and whatnot, that would come to about, oh, I dunno, 242. I wouldn't complain too much, with the amount of anal raping people WON'T be receiving on this one.
