MEGATON NEWS!!!

You can upload ur OWN music to DJ Hero 2!!!

@TOO PAWNED- No, if its a rumor, HHG WILL say its a rumor first. Btw, HHG has been right PLENTY of times before and hes ALREADY proven himself. Just check his archives. In the end, the REAL HHG fans believe him and if ur not a fan...u shouldn't be here. HHG rulez!

TOO PAWNED5201d ago

you mean rumors? Because that's what they are

Jamegohanssj55201d ago

Nah I highly doubt Metal Gear FPS. GTA Remakes? I want to believe it, but I want some damn proof first. I don't want to get my hopes up at all.

TGSI

PoSTedUP5201d ago

and believable looking at the fps mode in mgs4.

Saaking5201d ago

Metal Gear FPS? I don't think so. Unless it's just cheap cash in to get 360 gamers into Metal Gear. We all know a proper MGS just wouldn't sell to that crowd. That's why the real sequel (Peace walker) is on PSP.

simplyRealistic185201d ago

agreed, the point of mgs is espionage and stealth you cant to stealth in fps,

-Seven-5201d ago (Edited 5201d ago )

HHG might just be right about the Metal Gear FPS. Didn't Kojima give praise to Modern Warfare 2: http://n4g.com/News-415357....

As much as many of you might hate MW2, maybe Kojima enjoyed the game and was some what inspired. Plus I am sure Kojima is willing to give the GEM/WAND some attention, after all he is fascinated by new technology and a 3rd person would not work as well as first person game with motion controller.

@simplyRealistic18 If you know your stealth games, then you should know the answer to this problem. Metal Gear Solid is one of the best stealth FPS games ever (actually 3rd person + FPS), the key to the game is to use the RADAR, which shows enemy positions and their FOV.

ryhanon5201d ago (Edited 5201d ago )

Uhm, ever hear of the Thief franchise? You know, the franchise that practically *created* the modern stealth genre? You realize it's an FPS and easily one of the best stealth franchises ever made, right?

I just find it funny that one would dismiss a stealth FPS when the genre was very nearly born as an FPS.

That is all.

Saaking5201d ago (Edited 5201d ago )

Thief didn't invent the stealth action genre, Metal Gear did (in 1987), many years before Thief was even thought of.

Razmossis5201d ago

Wouldn't work.

MGS always had a First person perspective, but it was only used as a manual aim option when you needed to score a headshot.
I wholeheartedly doubt you heard anything about a new MGS unless you work with Famitsu or Ubisoft in Japan.

Hideo may have enjoyed CoD and GTA but, if you listened to his interviews you would know that his liking of them stems from the fact that he was impressed by the technology of their software.

From the beginning Hideo's ambition has been to make the 'perfect' stealth game... going FPS would be a massive step in the wrong direction and he knows it.
Don't tell me you don't remember the MGS4 trailer where he makes fun of the idea?
"THIS IS NO FPS... THIS IS MGS"

-Seven-5201d ago (Edited 5201d ago )

Sorry but you fail, Castle Wolfenstein, originally available on the Apple II in 1981, employed stealth elements as a focus of the gameplay. Tenchu: Stealth Assassins was released several months before Metal Gear Solid, making it the first 3D stealth based-game.

Google is your friend : )

ryhanon5201d ago

Sorry, but Thief came out November 1998 while MGS came out September 1998. So I guess if by "several years" you mean "barely two months", then I suppose you're about half-right.

My point was, FPS stealth games have been done and they've been done extremely well.

Razmossis5201d ago

Oh, and why is he hyping a 3D Max Payne?

We've already been told that PS3 will receive a patch that will enable ALL games to work with 3D

Saaking5201d ago (Edited 5201d ago )

@ryhanon

Lol, I'm talking about Metal Gear (not SOLID). Metal Gear came out in 1987, nearly a decade before Thief.

@Seven
True, you got me there.

rockleex5201d ago

Metal Gear Solid came out in 1998.

Pac Man actually created the stealth genre. Lol, seriously.

Mainman5201d ago (Edited 5201d ago )

MGS going FPS, i really hope not.

Keep MGS the way it is Koji, please. I love my freedom when it comes to game controls. 3rd person for regular, over the shoulder or fpv foor shooting is the perfect method for gaming.

Imho, 3PS/TPS > FPS.

krouse935201d ago

Kojima Productions is owned by Konami, not Ubisoft.

PlainOldGamer5201d ago

Oops! Almost clicked on the ling till i realized it was the HHG show. You know when you make the link on N4G you should put HHG then New FPS Metal Gear so it doesn't deceive people.

Anyway keep making those videos, i don't watch them but i know a lot of people like them. No offense so keep it up! :)

Razmossis5201d ago

I know.

I am merely pointing out that the only other companies who would know about a new MGS. Famitsu and Ubisoft in Japan are the only companies that would know this besides Konami, Sony or MS as they go without saying.

Read between the lines

sikbeta5201d ago (Edited 5201d ago )

MGS FPS NEVER GONNA HAPPEN!

MGS Games have GREAT STORIES that need to be Followed and Average FPS Games always go with a typical Rambo-Space-Marine Hero that fight against Aliens or Nazis/Communists or a BAD guy with an Stupid-I'm-going-to-Rule-the-W orld plot and stereotypical cr@p like that

So, It'll make a Masterpiece into an Average Shooter with an Story that Average FPS-lovers will not want to follow and that's Bad Move

MicroSony4Life5201d ago

so your saying that Halo and Killzone don't have a story.

Blaster_Master5201d ago

why is everyone freaking out? He's like 99.9 % right, deal with it. LOL!

Product5201d ago

I remember suggesting this way back when i ran Nintendo Dpad.

The site doesnt exist anymore but Gamekicker cited it lol Hip Hop Gamer you are late to the party!

http://www.gamekicker.com/W...

"-First, every Metal Gear title so far has been in a third person perspective, or variant. The Wii iteration for the Metal Gear saga would be put into a first person view, and really take the series back to its roots. Stealth, but realistically.

A First person view, allows for a more intense experience as you no longer have the eyes of God knowing where enemies are. Instead, the game would be less action packed, and more built around stealth not only because of the limitations of the Wii hardware, but also to give the series a completely different outlook on what the series could do going forward."

Rumor!!!!

LittleBigSackBoy5201d ago

Better than last week. Good show.

B00M5201d ago

I would love Hideo Kojima to make a FPS MGS. Remember the original trailer for MGS4 that was in FPS, looked amazing! "This is no FPS - Forget Pre-rendered Stuff" Made me laugh.

Zelda Replay: Majora's Mask

VGChartz's Evan Norris: "Is Ocarina of Time as legendary as I remembered it? For the most part, yes. In spite of a handful of missteps — a few obtuse puzzles, some tedious backtracking, and a clunky stealth sequence — I don't believe the last 23 years have been unkind to it. Ocarina remains a brilliant example of the medium, a landmark game that shaped the future of its own franchise and 3D gaming in general. After more than two decades it retains its inventive dungeon design, challenging puzzles, dynamic combat, wistful storyline, unforgettable music, and empowering open-air freedom. I feel confident calling it one of the greatest games of the fifth generation, even if I'm no longer prepared to list it among the five best games ever made."

Pure unadulterated fun. They don't make them like this anymore...especially not the triple A industry.

FinalFantasyFanatic3h ago

Back when video rental was a thing, I rented out Majoria's Mask, I never finished it though. I did buy the 3DS version before the eshop shutdown, so maybe one day I'll finally play through the whole thing, it's amazing how well these games hold up though. I briefly played Ocarina of Time for a while and it was really fun.

Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell Of Ar Ciel Retro Review – Love Conquers All

Gary Green said: You’ll be forgiven if you haven’t heard of the Ar Tonelico trilogy. The previous two games arrived so late in the PS2’s life-cycle that they simply went unnoticed. While most were tinkering with their shiny new PS3s, Ar Tonelico: Melody of Elemia and Ar Tonelico II: Melody of Metafalica were being ‘returned to sender’ by your local Game stores. Luckily, you won’t need to have played them to understand and appreciate this third and final chapter, Qoga (pronounced k-yoga) tells the story of a racial war between humans and Reyvateils, a breed of biologically produced female cyborgs capable of reproduction, while still having a digital mind.

Oh my god. I kinda wish this would get a remaster on PS5, it would be awesome. One of my favorite games on PS3.

That and 3D Dot Game Heroes. It's a shame that some stuff is stuck on PS3.

Knightofelemia2d ago

Ar Tonelico 3 is good I still prefer the first AT game. The music is solid in all the games and Akiko Shikata is a very talented singer bringing life to the game. Only annoying part is well I find is Saki I always choose Finnel or Tyria. KOEI so needs to HD remaster the franchise along with Ar Nosurge and Ciel Nosurge since it never came to North America. I would day one the Ar Toneliceo games and Ar Nosurge if they were remastered.

TheColbertinator2d ago

I still have the limited edition of Qoga unopened. Unfortunately it never went up in value like I had hoped all these years.

Used to own all these quirky JRPG on ps3 good times. Wish I would have kept them all

Pacific Rim Pinball comes to Pinball FX

This could be fun as they make great tables. Go big or go extinct. Prime your senses for a neural handshake and step into the cockpit of a Jaeger. It is on you to cancel the apocalypse when Pacific Rim Pinball comes to Pinball FX on May 16.
