Muzyka: Mass Effect 2 to be 'best thing yet from Bioware'

Bioware co-founder Dr. Ray Muzyka thinks that Mass Effect 2 is to be "the best thing yet from Bioware" after it hits retail in January, beating out other immortal Bioware games like Baldur's Gate, Jade Empire, Knights of the Old Republic and so on.

Dr. Muzyka revealed this thought during a roundtable discussion with the media after talking a bit about what the sci-fi RPG follow-up is all about and how it differs and compares to the original Mass Effect.

"This is the dark second act of the Mass Effect trilogy, and I'm really incredibly excited about this," he said. "The quality is outstanding. I'm so proud of the team across the board."

The dudes and dudettes at Bioware are beasts. They know how tell a great story and blend RPG and action/shooters perfectly.

mikeslemonade5256d ago

Nope, considering Mass Effect is the best xbox 360 exclusive there is noway they will be able to fill those shoes. Because the 1st one had amazing graphics and was original Mass Effect 2 has no chance.

hobokiller5255d ago

Wouldn't you think they would improve on the first game? From the looks of it, they have eliminated almost all the major complaints from Mass Effect. Anyways I would trust Bioware when it comes to these things.

And there is absolutely no reason for me to doubt you guys.

chrisulloa5256d ago

LOL, glitch fest. The glitches are minor, however their storyline and gameplay make up for it. Look at Dragon Age.

Yeah same. BioWare are good at what they do, make great games. Mass Effect 2 will be epic. Glad they fixed all these little problems like the elevators.

Nihilism5256d ago

I don't see how elevators were a problem, it was either that or a loading screen and an elevator ride with some dialogue and movement was definitely cooler

bigrudowsky5256d ago

These guys are great I've only played a few of their games and save for a few tech problems The games have been amazing experiences they really know how to draw me into their stories.

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave22d ago (Edited 22d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
