Disney Wants to Play Films on Any Device

Disney could demonstrate the new technology, code-named Keychest, in as little as two months, and it could be available to consumers next year, a studio insider said Wednesday. Using cloud-computing concepts that could be coupled with physical product, consumers would pay one price for rights to a movie they could play on multiple devices, even simultaneously, if desired.

That sounds like a great idea. Haven't they already put some memory sticks with films saved on them with DVDs.... I heard they had.

Wouldn't it be great if all companies did this. Wouldn't it be even greater if all DVDs and Blu-rays came with a copy of the movie for every device.

well, with snow white, you could pick up any version and get the dvd, bluray, and digital copy in the same package (you just pick what package you want)... props to disney!

they did the same thing with Sleeping Beauty. Snow White comes in either the dvd packaging or bluray packaging...having the choice is a blessing and a curse.
